Rough Shooting for Pheasants

This week I head back over to one of my favourite shoots in Bedfordshire, I wasn’t in the best form as I have been ill for the past ten days and I found it quite hard going. Ted and Percy had also had a pretty rough time and it was noticeable in that I had a few run ins which we will be working on during this coming week. Scenting conditions proved to be really testing as it was a cold damp frosty day. However, all that said it was good to be off the sofa and back out in the field.

I think it is important to show a bit of reality ….I have just watched a driven video and every bird the Gun shot was hit…but then I noticed they had edited the film using the same few birds over and over again! Keeping real. Cheers Nick

Great video nick , I envy it to be honest ,me and my wife beat for more driven stuff with our little cocker and it’s nothing like what you do , it makes you appreciate the value of a bird and how awesome those little dogs are . Hard walking, don't mind when your body is still recovering from a flu. Hard going for a springer on frosty ground. Great video though 👍

Ted looks old in that thumbnail 😢 makes me really sad as I watched his videos religiously before I got my lemon cocker and named him Ted too!

Thanks for your comment, he is only 7 and in his prime but he has aged since being ill at the beginning of this year. Hopefully still got a few more years of making memories with him …..🤞 cheers Nick
