I like seeing Matt and Karen went off but I gotta give Foggy an appreciation for his stability and patience, he’s like a dad trying to keep everything everyone together

Interesting little note when Kingpin told Dex to scream and he hugged him that “clean up crew” outside the room was rolling up the plastic AGAIN keyword there because had Dex not screamed or not listened to Kingpin he would’ve killed Dex on his way out.

That Karen and Fisk scene is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.

8:46 just goes to show main character deaths don’t have to be dramatic, tense, and emotional. This is more realistic.
Julie’s death was one of the most upsetting I’ve seen in a TV show, she was a complete innocent who did nothing wrong and had no context to understand why it happened. On my rewatch of the show, I remembered that she was dead by a certain point, but I forgot how she died and that we see it.

The Karen/Fisk scene is probably the best of the series. People do not at all give enough credit to the character of Karen, she’s just as a driving force as Matt is in the story.
And that scene is wonderfully written and acted…
A LOT more of that kind of stuff in Jessica Jones, if you’d only watch it…
now imagine if fisk was allowed to put his hands on karen if foggy never got there in time. o.o

This was a big episode. Karen's reveal to Fisk was epic. I've been waiting for you to see that moment since Wesley's death in season 1.
Then we had Julie's death. Then the Sister = Mother Maggie confirmation drop at the end. This show isn't over. You have still got some more drops coming.

Probably Deborah Ann Woll’s best/most memorable scene as Karen throughout the Defender shows.
I definitely think Karen is the most improved character in terms of adapting characters from the comic. She’s definitely has a better personality and is low key a badass (ie trying to goad Fisk into killing her)
Karen walks the line between manically hopeful and self destructive.
When she can't see a way forward, and doesn't have that emotional support, she starts thinking dark thoughts.
@@jasoncaldwell5627 I hope so badly that Deborah is in Reborn.. All I've seen is that she's not, which is a massive indicator it will suck and the creators are way off course.
@@kuivia in the comics, there's many years without Karen where Matt has other love interests and secretaries....though I'm with you on hoping her and Foggy are both in the show- we at least know that the show is getting Disney's first "R-Rating" and will be a parental control firewall thing. That's good news.

Their recent movies left me scratching my head as to where common sense went to at that company. They keep taking the best, darkest stories they have and....making comedies for five year olds. I'm actually dreading Secret Invasion since they said they WON'T be introducing Nick Fury's Secret Warriors team.
Yeah, why introduce young badass powered characters that could be your "bench" of new actors, when you can ...uh...make another "She-Hulk" style series? Push Loki back a few MORE months?
They never said whether Matt's mom was dead or just gone, but they hinted that she was still alive once: after Jack called his bookie and bet on himself to win the boxing match, he called a second number and got an answering machine. He told the person on the other side "I think Matt is gonna need you."
The best part of Daredevil is that we learn the backgrounds of both the good and bad characters and learn that it's all shades of grey.
Karen had the dark background and we'll learn about Maggie and how she was a ninja assassin nun and....
Okay, maybe not exactly. Still, she's a ninja for Jesus.
Dex...man, I knew a lot of guys like him growing up- kids with problems that usually go into the foster parent system and get ground up.
The acting this season is so next-level.
As to what you should watch next, watch either The Expanse or From. Both are incredible series, but the Expanse is over and there's six seasons, so you can get a lot of uploads on that...and it's SO. DAMN. GREAT.
Sci-Fi on a Daredevil level of story and acting.
"From" is a horror/mystery/thriller about a town you drive through and can't escape from and the monsters that live in the surrounding forest that come out at night to kill.
And the mystery of what the place is. And where it is. Is it some crazy experiment? Aliens? Supernatural curse? It's got a great cult following (myself among them) that talk about all our crazy theories.
It's finishing season two now and has been greenlit for season three!

Personally I remember back then getting it thanks to a couple of tiny clues sprayed here and there earlier in this S3...

in season one before Jack( matts dad) made a phone call before his last fight and was to Maggie telling her Matt was going to need her.
I Never get how people didn’t put together Maggie was his mom. Every time I watch it it seems obvious but I guess there are no real hints it’s just that…they never said what happened to the mom and suddenly this maternal figure appears. Haha.

The fact that Matt was listening to her prayer shows he didn’t wanna do what needed to be done. While he’s punching the bag showing he doesn’t care he still slightly cares just by listening in on her prayer before he heard her say” our son is too much like you Jack”
Great episode anyway, but this reaction was so worth it just to watch your mind get blown at the end.

Just another brilliant episode that shows why Kingpin is a great Comic Book character, Vincent D’Onofrio is a great actor, and intertwining them creates one of the greatest villains in TV history.

When you were describing this show towards the end of this review, and calling it ‘peak TV’, I was smiling. I was confident, back when you started this show, that you would greatly love its third season.
The soft reboot, Daredevil Born Again, by the MCU is going to have to do the impossible to reach the high standard set by this.
