I like how you advertised that single leg squat roller you can clamp to a squat rack and do single leg squats on. Definitely am going to get one. I appreciate it coach
At 54 and really for the first time in my life starting in July 2022 I really want to accomplish a 400lb sqaut I have just recently in March 1repped 300. I definitely want to use any tips to help me accomplish the goal
Hello, I really liked the video. I suck at unbroken squats…..so was really interesting to hear about the plyometric training resulting in blast impulse. Unfortunately the gym I train doesn’t have stairs I could perform the stair jumps. What other exercises would you recommend, also how often should you train plyometrics and what are the reps and set scheme like? You mentioned ‘plyometric series’ is this a programme? Kind regards, Oliver.
sometimes i feel like beyond 85 %, my shoulder blades sort of "untuck" during a back squat, leading to me getting a rash on my traps. Should I think more about "breaking" the bar on my back in order to stay tighter in my shoulder blades?
What's your recommendation on when to implement a belt? Historically, I've trained primarily beltless and only throw it on when around 90-95% 1rpm, but after 3 year hiatus, I've found that I have some significant lower back pain/core strength gaps that fatigue first if I go beltless even when 70%+. It's such a limiting factor that I feel like I'm losing out on squat strength gains until my core can catch back up, but I also don't want to become overly reliant on the belt. I do also have a history of lower back issues. Previous training 3rpms 405 lbs (belt) 365 lbs (beltless - 90% of 405) Current training 3rpms 305 (belt) 245 (beltless - 80% of 305)
I squat just once a week. I'm 65 and I find this is sufficient for me. Oh, did I mention that I have a drug free 565lb beltless squat? No need to grind yourself to a nub with multiple squat days in my opinion!
Woah! False statement made here. Squatting is actually one of the best knee exercises there are. I was heavy back and front squatting ATG with a torn mcl. I actually couldnt do any other exercises (im a weightlifter) unless i squatted first to gain mobility and ROM in my knee. I could then do power snatches and full cleans after. So u should def squat if u have knee issues just dont go crazy but use them to gain range of motion
A Zercher squat, and overhead squat, a barbarian squat, a Cossack squat, shrimp squat, a pistol squat, a sissy squat, I'm sure there's a lot more hahaha

Hey Dane, for a power lifter, would you still recommend keeping an athlete day in the week?

Big squats big throws, once again thanks for the video, my son loves your help with his throws training online.
Could you do a video on using the fat bar for bench press and the benefits from that? My athletes do not see the benefit from them.

Shrimp Creole, Shrimp Soup, Shrimp Stew, Shrimp and Potat-ahs. haha such a classic.
Should I squat and deadlift on the same day?
Lots of people do but you're going to have to sacrifice volume of one for volume of another or intensity of one for intensity of another
@@LatimusChadimus Thanks. Then should I squat one leg day and deadlift the other?
If you front squat or high bar squat you can train them the same day no worry
