No. Even though I have the fold 5 and it's plenty good, I'll likely get the minimally innovated fold 6 mainly so that I always get the very best trade in every year. Is it worth it? Nope

@TechOdyssey $1800 through Samsung finance. 12 months later, the balance is down to $800. The new phone costs $1800. Trade in value of $1000. Pay the balance off and start over with a new phone and a new balance of $800. Repeat every year. Not ideal.for everyone, but it works.

I agree about the 7 being the one. I have my mom my 5 just after having it for a month because her 3 screen stopped working and I traded her 3 in and got the pixel 8 plus. Gonna trade that in with att next to get the fold 6. @@TechOdyssey

As a z fold 5 owner I was waiting for the z fold 6 but Iv upgraded to the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and couldn't be happier. Iv gotten a better fold and saved a ton of money too
What are you talking about lol, the vivo can't do half of what the fold 5 can do lol. Can't even go full screen in most apps let alone multi task.

@@colmastro4373 continue to be a Samsung sheep. The screen on the Vivo is way better and iv held them side by side. Charging speeds are way faster. Better hinge, wider outer display. Don't care about the s pen support as I have a s24 ultra. Way better speakers too. Let's not even talk about the ridiculous crease that looks terrible compared to every competitor 😂. The Vivo destroys the fold in battery life too it's not even close! Instead of talking out of your arse I suggest you try something different before you bash it.
how's the software experience? I don't feel like shelling out extra $ to upgrade to zf6 since there's hardly any significant change from the zf5. I am open to other brand's foldables but I'm a bit on the fence due to how compatible their softwares are for a north american user.

I'm on my second Z Fold 4 (inner screen died at a year) and I'm resigned to going back to the Ultra series with this year's upgrade. I'll come back to the Folds in a couple years, hopefully the 8 will finally have some significant upgrades, especially in the durability department.
I traded my ZF3 for a ZF5. Had the screen on my 3 swapped out by Samsung for free. I also had a Note 20 Ultra, which I upgraded to an S23U. I then upgraded to the S24U to get the AI features, only to see the S23U get most of the AI features a few months later. Now, my S24U is my daily driver. I use my fold as a mini tablet, and when I'm out on the town. I use it as a flex on all those mere mortals that are trapped in iPhone dystopia...
If Samsung doesn't give the hardware 100 % this time , I may have to consider importing the Vivo fold 3 pro , Honor Magic V2 rsr Porsche and or Xiaomi or Pixel FOLD 2 . It would be mindblowing because Samsung has my favorite software and ecosystem in android w my s23 ultra

Hot take: instead of making incremental changes every year, phone manufacturers should start staggering their hardware updates every other year and provide a more significant refresh. This way, they can still put out something new each year, just not the entire lineup.

It would make no sense. Everybody is on different upgrade timings and people buy these phones every year.
Correct me if im wrong cause im trying to see which phone i want. I currently have the flip 3 and its going out on me. Trying to decide if i should get a 5 gen or wait a month for the 6th gen. I thought the fold 5 had a 50 mp phone while everything before it only had a 12 mp?? I heard also the flip 6 camera was gonna be on par with the s24's with a 50 mp also. Is this not true?? I only ask cause u said the cameras in the folds have been the same
The Ultra version in Jan 2025 will have the features to compete... Samsung may have finally understood that they need to innovate (wider outer screen, S pen slot, better cameras)
I have the Zfold 4 im excited to get it and the bugger outer screen im also looking forward to it being ligther.
Cameras are holding me back from swapping over from the Ultra, I just can't pay more for weaker cams, I use my cameras constantly.

Happy Father's Day, Adam! I'll likely upgrade from my Fold 5 cause I hate the cover screen. If I could type and make use of the cover screen for 33% of the time, I'd be able to get through a full day without charging. I'm really mad about the same cameras. I've had Z Fold 3 through 5 and I'm sick of the average quality cameras on such an expensive phone. There's so many comments on other channels speaking about just not buying a Samsung Fold until they give us flagship cameras.

I was originally looking forward to the Z Fold 6 & potentially upgrading from my S23 Ultra, but with no camera changes & so little else actually being an "upgrade", I'll wait & hope for Z Fold 7 to finally break the streak.

Not enough changes. I had a S 23 Ultra traded that in for a Fold 3 and traded that in for The OnePlus Open for an outer screen that I can use. I just Love everything about it.😊

I was really looking forward to the Z fold 6... from the Fold 4... really disappointed by the leaks. Really hope they announce the Ultra model with Ultra cameras
Agree Sammy f'd up... Spent on front screen is a slam dunk... I shouldn't have to open it to be productive! Yeah I have the z5 and will look elsewhere next time
I don't want to take the chance having a folding phone for more than 2 years. Upgraded my Zf2 to Zf4, so as long as the trade in deals are good, I'll be swapping my Zf4 to the Zf6. I'm sure it will feel like a much more refined phone compared to the zf4 once it's in my hands, but I was really hoping for a bigger jump in features/design.
I agree I have the 4. But not quite sure if this is even worth the upgrade unfortunately. I'll know more when it actually releases.

I got a Note 20 Ultra and want a new phone so bad but there's nothing that I like i wanted a foldable so bad but i cant get a fold with such of small front screen i guess ill hold on to my note another year🙄
Z flip 6 and Z fold 6 will probably get 7 years of os updates i just dont know if they will ĺast that long

Have the fold 5, first 'fold' use the flip more but love the big screen and I know I am in the minority but i like thebthin front screen. I think if they improved the battery and the charging speed and S 24 cameras then the price will be justified. But with just AI, new processor and 7 years of support, I think they should leave it the same. Thank goodness for the crazy upgrades they offer.
I think Samsung focuses mainly on the phone itself rather than the camera. I think this is because it's not 2 many top tier foldable phones.

I'll keep my Z fold 4, my phone is still in pristine condition, because I pay attention to what I got in my hand, I don't drop my phone, there's no reason to upgrade because you're going to be getting the same phone,
the only difference is a slight differences, not that much differents, SO there's no reason to upgrade.
I think Samsung knows alot of its users aren't upgrading every year, I use to with the S series phones, the Z Fold 3 is the longest phone I've owned, because it cost alot initially so I am reluctant to upgrade, I cant see any dramatic upgrades in the Z Fold 6 to warrant throwing away $$ for the same/similar thing. It's starting to look like a 7 year stint between upgrades if that's how Samsung wants to run it 😅
One might day that it was Royola who pioneeed the folding phone technology (I think the FlexPai came out before the Z Fold)🙂

Get a one plus open, I traded in my S23 U and the phone came out to $600.

No issues. I had a fold 3 & 4. Only downside is the overall Samsung ecosystem. Other than that the Open is better than the fold.

The Lack of Camera Upgrades is becoming a huge irritant with Samsung. I have been disappointed with the S24 Ultra and the Zfold cameras not changing is simply ridiculous especially for that amount of money,
I will be leaving the foldable Samsung phones , I'm good they have been a disappointment at least to me and now a price increase for a square same size foldable with the same cameras nah I'm good. I've been a fan since the f2 , might switch to Google they look more promising

I recently traded in my Z Fold 4 for the S24 Ultra. Although I prefer the Fold series over the Ultra series, the rumored changes of the Z Fold 6 are too minor for my liking. I'll pick up a folding phone in 2025.

Brother and now in days he doesn't matter if they got 5 years of software or 7 years of screen protection or anything like that because people just keep buying phones now every year they keep changing so whether it's 5 years that you're saying or 7 years it doesn't matter anymore

We stopped buying zflips here... screen has failed early on 3 out of 5 we bought over last few years. And the crease has become annoying on the other two. The durability just isn't there.

Why is 7 years of updates even important. Youre focusing on the wrong topics. Need to focus on the outdated hardware, average cameras which wont be upgraded, terrible front screen, reflective inside screen, thick and heavy!

Here is the thing. If the cameras take great pictures. Does it really matter that it does has the same cameras? Samsung could say it put improved cameras in it and i bet no one would noticed that they actually have not and just pulled a fast one. Just saying. And samsung will also not change the whole shape and formula of a proven product just to please a few that want it different obviously samsung has enough ppl buying the z fold in the shape of front screen it is. Why change a proven successful product? It would make no sense. From a business standpoint.
$100 increase on a $1k+ phone is negligible. Most people trade in their phones in 2 to 3 years anyway and most people finance their phones through their carriers. I’m not sure what the purpose of this video is.

Very poor upgrade but typical of Samsung's arrogance these days. They need to release an Ultra version with better camera's, bigger screens and battery, built-in s pen and front screen support for the s pen.

Oneplus Open is my first new brand after using 15 years Samsung starting with Note 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 20, Fold3, Fold 5. I always sustain innovations, so, Oneplus here I come and it's time to say bye bye Samsung. I use also Apple, but just for work, it's so boring but is a company asset. I love the fold . They are simply not durable enoough. In 2 years ive had 3 replacements.
2 fold 4's ( inner screens craxked on the 4's, bluetooth and wifi stopped working after 6 months of the fold 5.
As much as i wanted a 4th fold , i opted for the s24 ultra
Also, since i have the ultra i constantly get a 5g network in my house, i only got a 5g network with my fold phones in the house 10% of the time. if that.
If foldable phones were the future, Apple would have made it a long time ago. That says it all about foldable phones.
