It depends on the trade in value. If it is good then many will buy it. I got my Z Flip 5 because of the trade in. Worth every penny.
Until they add new cameras, bigger batteries, Spen integrated SPen a d faster charging, i will get one then.

Then you will keep waiting year after year to buy one. Because samsung is going very slow on design changes.

So it looks like the Fold 5 which looks like the Fold 4 (1 TB) that I still own. If this phone is not wider, then I can’t see a reason to upgrade. Samsung is just begging Apple to enter this market.

Have been changing z fold every year. The boxy design of z fold 6 looks much better!
Even with an $1,000.00 S24 Ultra trade-in it'll still come out to a bad deal overall. $1200.00 for new "edges"? Again, only for "new edges" and old everything else . . . let that sink in folks. But wait, we haven't even got to pricing for the rumored "Ultra" coming around Jan. 2025. Whew! 😅
How the hell is theS23 Ultra worth 200 bucks more than the Zfold 5 on trade in on an S24 Ultra? And that's from the Samsung store! Even Samsung is telling you they value the Zfold as crap... Demand better people...

This is terrible. I had the 3 and sold out after a few months. Now, 3 generations later and they still haven't made it worth buying.
11 months into using the fold 4,the motherboard and charging port packed up. Fixed for free. 6 months later the inner screen packed up. Cost to fix in Thailand 9000 bht.

I've had a good experience with my z fold 4. The screen peeled and made bubbles on the crease 1 year. Got it replaced. But on the 2nd year the wifi went out and won't turn on recently No big deal. I'll wait for fold 6 and get unlocked instead of locked model this time.
Samsung appears to be headed in an unfavorable direction.
Unless they increase the battery size, there will be no improvement.
This course of action seems inefficient and wasteful.

😭The same cameras as the previous models as well as the battery. You are basically paying more for a slightly bigger outer screen.

When they make the screen size like the OnePlus Open then I would consider it. I sure aren't going to give mine up when they never change much of anything. I traded in my Fold 3 for the S 23 Ultra then traded that for the OnePlus and just Love everything about it.
Can you elaborate how the oneplus screen is different? Are you saying aspect ratio?
@@koraegis Yes aspect ratio. A normal screen that I can use. On the Fold 3 I hardly ever used it at all because it was just so narrow.
I have the fold 2, it’s old, I need the FOLD 6. I’m getting the highest memory, and after tax it’ll be $2400. AT&T finances 24 months with no interest. Which is $100 a month. I can handle that.
So glad I left Samsung after the fold 4 , have one plus open an absolute fantastic phone

I have the S24 and don't really care for the sharp edges. I find it hard to hold.

I have bought a fold every year they renewed, I cannot believe they won't spend more on developing a new fold from the ground up like Google.
It's a shame to put Samsung followers through this!
I may turn to Google but I'm worried about optimisation of certain apps for the display size etc.

This is BS. A minor update, at best. If you want to buy this, wait until their Black Friday sale when they will really be forced to drop those prices. I had a bought a brand new Z Fold in December--too many flaws, none of which they have fixed. I sent it back within 10 days, and it took me 8 weeks for them to return my money. Eventually, another company is going to make a much better version of a "fold" phone. No way I would wait for a Z Fold 7. This company needs an overhaul. Watch their market share drop now.

I do appreciate your clarity in reporting. After being a Note user i chose the Flip due to its price and my curiosity on how i would enjoy its size and im hooked. If Samsung follows through with this years 50mp camera upgrade i will upgrade. The Fold has the pen, more size but the Flip's price snaps me back to "(the flip) fits in my hand and fits in my pocket" ... screw the pen!

I have the fold5 1TB since the introduction to the market and have loved it all the way. My only complaint is that recently, the protecting plastic cover is beginning to lift along the crease, and in my case, it's annoying me because I am a professional photographer who very often Ps & Lr mobile to process my images right on spot. It's the only complaint and reason why I might trade in. I just hope Samsung has done something about it, I'm sure I'm not the only one with this uncomfortable issue.

Oneplus Open is my first new brand after using 15 years Samsung starting with Note 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 20, Fold3, Fold 5. I always sustain innovations, so, Oneplus here I come and it's time to say bye bye Samsung. I use also Apple, but just for work, it's so boring but is a company asset. I'm upset and sad, but sometimes you have to wake up and be realist.
The sales on these will be terrible
If the price was $500 I would never buy one. Outer screen is too small, inner screen and hinge too fragile and samsung won't back their product if the hinge gets messed up even if it was never dropped. The camera absolutely BLOWS! The bottom line is the fold actually made me leave samsung as they wanted me to pay for a brand new phone due their hinge issue.

Cant understand why samaung cant do just like OnePlus Open which is the best foldable phone in my opinion.
I know why, OnePlus is made in china, which has cheap labor and cheaper parts. Samsung is made in South Korea, labor isn't as cheap and parts are alot more expensive. Its comes down to how much the phone cost to make and profit. These phones have to pay alot people alot of money. That's the reason for these high prices...
@@rsm7742 It wasn't the price I was referring to or how bad or good the material is. It's how thin oneplus is and that it feels just like a normal phone when it's closed. That Samsung doesn't realize that is a mystery to me. Have had fold 4 for 1 year and never again.

samsung does decent deal at pre-order but if watching ur vid.. gives better ok but my thing is i know if u have a z flip or z fold and trade in on same u get a good deal but for ones that might want to go from z flip to z fold should get the same if u was reading a z fold for a fold. cause i like to change to the fold. they not doing enough upgrades to the phone yet wana jump up price having prob.. with Q1 2 sales vrs another company then drop the price a hundred. ect just like the tab s plus 9 cant up grad to the one on sale now only s8 well im going from a plus to the bigger screen
If all of this is correct, I don't know why anybody would buy this phone. Its 95% the same phone as the 5 with a higher price tag. People, don't waste your money. This is a complete rip off. By the way as we stated before, somebody or some people at Samsung higher ups are some real stiff necks and won't learn. Folks told them not to get ride of the Note series for them only to bring it back as the S Ultra. Folks told them not to get rid of the watch classic dial face only to bring it back. How many time has folks have to keep telling Samsung they want a larger outer screen on the Fold? Yet they continue to refuse as their competitors are going to leave them behind. I personally will never buy a fold with that candy bar outer display. Never.
They could've at least upgraded the camera. I'll have to see what they are giving for trade in first
Yes holy shit .... How can Samsung be so arrogant... I expected at least a better battery ... . Everyone who needs a top AI smartphone will wait for Iphone 16 or S25 ... and everyone who would want a foldable will go for new Pixel fold 2 or Honor. I suppose even the flip 6 will have a better performance regarding battery . Samsung has still a little bit of time ... but on the day Apple will build a foldable iphone with an AI superprozessor folable Samsung phones will be history and Google and chinese companies will dominate the market Samsung started ... haven't they learnt from history ( Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens) at Samsung HQ

Nothing can beat the Honor Magic V2 for design and how slim it is. This looks like a chunky overpriced folding phone, just like all the others before it. Magic V2 is like only half the price of this phone now.
Lol, Samsung has learned nothing! There is zero reason to buy this phone. I had an S23 Ultra, which was my favorite phone ever. Then I got a Z Fold 5 and hated it after a month. I hated it so much that I went back to Apple, and my Z Fold has just sat next to my printer for about nine months. It looks like I got off the Samsung wave at the perfect time. I have zero brand loyalty.
