I'm starting to think the bait doesn't matter and that Ashla is just the superior angler.
They give her what's most likely to work, I think. Catfish will eat almost anything they can smell. They're bottom feeders, so salty dry beef isn't really gonna carry much scent. Bacon isn't ideal for catfish, but it's a hell of a lot better than jerky IMO. But hell we made catfish balls out of almost anything smelly.
She's so beautiful it hurts.

Ashland was squeezing the catfish so hard at the end
try salt dough balls. ( only works in fresh water) . 1 cup flower, 3 the salt , and 1/3 cup water to consistency of biscuit dough. roll into balls and refrigerate over night. keep in Ziploc over ice.

AMEN!!! I'm trying to twist their arms to get them to California, to rent a Horse Bed & Breakfast... I love them all.. REAL WOMEN!! Thank God they still exists. They don't here in California anymore. Cooked bratwursts do work pretty well for catfish. Years ago while on camping trips, my nephews would cast and cast, and cast till all the night crawlers i had picked for the camp-out were gone. One morning i use leftover brats from the night before and did darned well on the channel cats.
