Which fish bait is better- Slim Jim or beef jerky?

- Which fish bait catches more fish and is a better fish bait; round and soft Slim Jim style beef stick or flat and hard beef jerky?
I bought some jack Link's beef stick and teriyaki beef jerky to see which the fish liked better and which stayed on the hook the best. It was surprisingly close but I think the beef stick or Slim Jim style of beef snack worked a little better than the jerky as the fish hit the stick bait harder and were easier to hook.
I only caught very small bluegill but they would make excellent catfish or snake head or even bass bait. I plan on running some trot lines overnight to see if they will catch some snake heads.

I caught 3 carps in just 5 minutes with jacks beef jerky links, quick bites they love it! Also good bait for catfish and bluegill

I took my wife and daughter fishing and I decided to use beef bites for bait after not catching or even getting a bite on the artificial bait we were using. Using the beef bites for bait we couldn't stop pulling out fish. They went absolutely crazy for those beef bites.
were you fishing in fresh water or salt? what was biting?
@@RobbsHomemadeLife It was Brackish water here in Florida a little inland from the coast. The fish is a common brackish salt fish that is kind of a yellowish with deep yellow stripes running down its side. Mid sized to small fish. I was just letting my daughter 9 years of age just play around throwing it out there and she was able to get some good experience fishing with a pole.

I tried it on a sunfish hotspot. The bites were fast but the fish got the bait off the hook easier than others who fished with worms

Brooks, did you ever watch my diy bait video, I think you might like it,i is how to make a fresh scent lure attractant with shrimp and crisco, it is not easy to keep on the lures but if you cut a little bit of green plastic scouring pad and use it on the top of your hook it will hold the attractant and the pad will keep your bait from popping off the hook.

That is exactly why I go to the target shooting range in the early Am weekdays. I have to whole place to myself.
I used to sail in north biscayne bay on weekdays and I would be surrounded by a million people on shore and not see a single boat out on the water , it was heaven.
As soon as you said beef jerky as bait I thought ”you monster” but the I say the beef steak and was like “genius!”
