I am a rower. I need to hear my environment and other rowers. I wear an older pair of Phonaks (not my newest ones) when I row. I took a dunk a while back, in saltwater. I wasn't under very long, it was cold, but when I got home I dried out the silica beads and put the aids in the case. They still work. So be careful, but don't get panicked if you make a brief error.
An at home electronic dryer is a great thing to use every night. I challenge manufacturers to offer a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Great video starkey makes some awesome products
Thank you for your most informative video. I have another "oh no" you can add to your list. I was at the hairdressers this afternoon and sat in the chair at the sink. I put my head back and was looking forward to my shiatsu shampoo and I heard the woman turning on the water and suddenly I let out a yelp and bolted up and jumped right out of the chair and took off my brand new 3 day old hearing aids. What a close call that was. I loved hearing about the Starkey hearing aids. I appreciate the ads your put on here - how else are we to find out what is out there in the marketplace. Right now I am looking for accessories.
In general, my hearing aids are not allowed in the bathroom ever. I carry a small dryer jar in my purse and a storage container in case of a rainstorm. Moisture can do horrendous damage to any electronics. I actually have a shoebox where i keep every silica gel package from every pair of shoes, collectible blind bag collectible, prescription medications, over the counter meds and any silica gel packs from any non food product. Occasionally, i will put my phone in that box overnight. I also check to see if any of the gel packs have discolored and toss any packs that have changed in appearance from when i first put them in the rubbermaid sealed container.I just want to stay proactive . It’s probably overkill but overkill is pretty much the way I operate most of the time.
Very informative! FWIW, the second digit of IEC 60529’s IP ratings does go above “8” (submersible to 2 m [6 feet], up to “9” for pressurized jet spray. IP ratings do not take into account liquids other than fresh (tap) water, as you stated. For those other conditions (at least on electrical equipment), you have to use NEMA 250 Enclosure Type ratings (oil, ice, dust).
And she didn't do what Dr.Cliff did while wearing the Phonak Paradise Life hearing Aides in the shower and sweating running outside in heat around the track and biking riding and swimming in pool laps with hearing Aides underwater below 3 feet deep over 36" inches deep in pool and Dr. Cliff shown hearing Aides in washer machine and 600 hours salty water and fresh water and leaving hearing Aides in full cup of water for days and nights and Dr.Cliff talked about hearing Aides ear molds needed to be dry and and some are custom mold small like I have 2 custom mold with wires to my 2022 new Phonak Paradise Life hearing Aides with Bluetooth automatic Sensors microphone 360 degrees Surrounded Sounds that I bought a new Phonak Aud`eo Roger-On Bluetooth automatic Sensors t.v. audio hookup and it automatically sensor my Bluetooth hearing Aides to turning it on and off automatically when my Bluetooth cellphone computer ringing or sending alert and Roger-On Bluetooth paused t.v. audio while I talk to my cellphone and I can get in my truck and my radio would respond to my hearing Aides automatically sensor Bluetooth and I can use Cellphone computer Google maps without using my truck radio or just use my truck radio to listen to my Google GPS maps either way without bothering my passenger in my truck and I don't have to keep on eyes on my cellphone Map I just listen to Google maps telling me warnings and directions to wherever I go to while keeping my eyes on the roads and highway and dirt road .
She didn't even test what type of rechargeable battery base used to be hooked up to. How long it will last . My Phonak Paradise Life hearing Aides has a 3 nights charging Base without any hookup to electricity power and without any hookup to my USB ports to my truck and car and my Midland Emergency radio/ solar power panels and hand cranking regenerator USB ports and my large Solar power panel portable rechargeable battery hookups to 4 different types of USB ports to charge my cellphone and LEDs light and hookup to my hearing Aides Base all at the same time and I can recharge my main 19" inches long Solar power panel Swiss Company base to charge by sun and truck USB ports and home electric power. And I can spend a month or more camping and hiking and boating and fishing with all the stuff I have now without any home electric power or city power building at groceries stores and department stores and I don't have to buy dozens of disposable batteries size 13 hearing Aides to use but I do it anyway since I needed backup hearing Aides to recharge my Phonak Life hearing Aides if I don't sleep during the night.
You didn't mention the Redux home drying device which is the best hearing aid dryer for home use and yes it's pricey. I paid 400 dollars for it and it's worth it. You didn't say that it's better to remove moisture from hearing aids without using heat. 1/3 of the video length is an ad for Starkey new hearing aid.
Yes, one if main teasons I don’t wear them . As a farmer, gardener, hunter, athlete… hearing aids cost too much to use outdoors. I guess they think all people live in buildings or sit all day.

I’ve destroyed several hearing aids by sweating I’ve just about given up on them
