Being in the Hall of Fame is not enough of an accolade for MJ. He transcends the Hall. This man made basketball appealing to every man, woman, and child in every country that had access to sports broadcasting. He made the NBA global. Everybody wanted to be like Mike. How man kids (boys and girls) were named after this man?
here in Portugal the basketball exploded at that time. It´s was the only sport played by almost everyone in my school, awesome times. I played for 12 years and now i´m 47 and sometimes i´ll still go to the playground behind my house hit some baskets. MJ belongs without a doubt to the zeitgeist.
I can honestly say growing up and living here in the UK that Michael really is the 🐐. Basketball isn’t even big here in the UK, only a handful of people will have heard of Kobe, LeBron and Curry. But MJ? 9/10 you can ask a random person on the street in England and they’ll know/heard of him. That’s greatness, the impact he had on so many people’s lives
This is February 21, 2020 and am yet here, almost late for work. Have been watching MJ for about 6hrs, woke up way too early. I never get tired or bored of watching the by far greatest and most iconic to ever handle basketball. MJ blessed basketball lovers with something so rare. Im scared he will die someday. Am always worried about him. Im 34yrs btw, never really watched a live game of the bulls but i was hearing Jordan back in Nigeria then. Air Jordan, Nike, 23 and so on. I developed love for the NBA and Basketball in 2000 cos of Air Jordan and to this day i doubt there will eve be anything like MJ. Everyone wants to be like Mike. It speaks volume. I respect Kobe for coming close to MJ in ways no other has done. Sometimes I wonder hw MJ feels abt his impact or influence. Does he know what he did to the world?
I was in Med school back in India. I remember waking up 5 in the mornings to watch those NBA finals. Back then the TV was in college gym and I used to request early access to gym to catch those live games. For me there is no other player like MJ. He is the greatest of all time”.
This is an emotional retrospect. It reminds me of my childhood watching his games with my late father. Jordan is his favorite player. I know he's watching too.
MJ will forever be Goat, you can't even write the career better. Absolutely obsessed to win, obsessed to train and God give talent. Maybe Goat in all sports.
Easily the goat in the sports world .... noone will ever duplicate his finals dominance and game winners.. just think if he didnt retire 2 times in his prime ... it has taken lebron like 5 extra years to beat jordans stats ... ive yet to see a midrange game as dominant as jordans was . Kobe was the closest to him offensively forsure.
He didnt have talent but skill and will on max level, from 84 to 90 Bulls didnt win anything with him and yet he is the greatest bbl player ever and one of best defender in bbl. Talent is Ronaldinho gaucho, his talent sharp his skills as a boy, that kid has win all games when play alone with mediocre team on his side, but lack of will on max level he fall... Its hard to compare but Ronaldo and Messi are way back from Ronaldinho in talent but will and discipline made them 2 best in football no doubt, Ronaldinho could be best for yrs, even in old age he dribbled a lot, other 2 do it when they need, that is no talent. Ronaldinho is that kid even now in his 40s. That is talent and belive he is better from other 2 even today... I love MJ, grow up in 90 and saw him play, Iverson in his prime reminds me a little on MJ. There was talented ballers but i cant think of any now, didn watch 15yrs. Only my opinion friend, sorry.
Joshua Haynes Kevin Durant and many others mid range game is perfect micheal jordan didn’t have the best mid range ever but he shot from there the most but Kevin Durant is just as good except he shoots the 3 better and can score easily at will
90s officials picked the guy with that name to sell tickets making rigged matches and playoffs. Even WWe had Shawn Michael's. Never liked that name. Michael knight. Even a show dedicated to some mike
Guys, let me explain in case you still have doubts. This dude went to the biggest stage if his sport (NBA finals) 6 times. Of those 6 times he won every time. Of those 6 times HE was the MVP. Of those 6 times he never allowed a game 7 to happen. There are great players even if you hate them because of reasons (Magic, Bird, LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, Russell, Chamberlain, etc.) He’s the greatest ever... and all I said was just about his finals record.

During the pre-game for Duke/North Carolina last year, a student asked the ESPN commentators if you took the greatest players for Duke all time and the greatest players from North Carolina of all time and they played a game, who would win? Jay Bilas had the best answer. He said that there have been amazing players for both teams but it comes down to this, "one team has Micheal Jordan and the other team doesn't." True story.
I'm so glad I got to experience the magic of Michael Jordan growing up. It was something else. People today know how good he was but that whole experience and time period it's hard to explain to people how good it was.
Honestly, this is a flawed argument. MJ was great, but he always had the better team. The 90's lacked competition, compared to a decade like the 80's. Bird and co, had to play amazing Lakers teams and vice versa.. Give the Western conference a juggernaut like LA was, and MJ most likely wouldn't be 6-0. And no, this isn't "hating".. These are just facts.
James Rock that's cool he's like my 4th or 5th I got dr. J Wilt Chamberlain Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Bill Russell Michael Jordan I've been watching the game for a long time
I had the opportunity to witness him playing during the 90s (when he was less impressive offensively than he was back in the 80's) , every week the top 10 plays in the NBA had like 3 or 4 involving MJ.
No sport movie is better than Jordan's career. Everything is so symbolic. Rookie all-star by leading votes, banned shoes and reviving Nike and turning it to the best brand, broken leg and straight after best scorer of the league like noone. Jordan rules and sweeping Pistons when Phil Jackson came along, winning championship by giving assist, something he didn't do until then, he won when he started trusting his teammates. Father dies, returns at his late thirties and again first scorer and champion. Dominated in the era of the best centers! Never went to a game with no interest, every day was a show. The flu game, double nickle, 63 against Celtics in the Playoffs, 6 threes in the Finals. Even his last shot! He had to retire like that...
KostasSiderisBarista I agree ... people dont understand how dominant Jordan was in the finals.. like George Karl said if your gonna beat Jordan in the finals your gonna have to cut his hesrt out
Jordan had the perfect career .. he was sorda lucky he caught the lakers when they was old and without kareem in the 90 finals.. once birds celtics and magics lakers got old that opened the door for jordan ... hes def the goat but the 90s bulls wasnt as good as the 80s lakers n celtics period
The feeling winning the championship and his father behind him patting him on the back. The rush he must of felt. Doing his best all the time no matter what is going on.
If you were a kid of the 1990´s you probably let a tear while watching this. Even if you do not know a man personally we all feel like we know him. That Bulls team was something special too me, that iconic bull logo at the center of the court. So when i watch this now i get goosebumps, remembering my youth days and admiration i had to this man, or better said this icon. She stopped being a toddler when he was in high school. She was an adult when he was still winning championships. She was old enough to be in graduate school when he retired from the Wizards. They married when she was 34.
THANK!! YOU!! Jordan was great. But he was nothing before phill and the boys showed up! In fact he was a loser and a bit of a choke artist in the playoffs until Scotty and the other guys showed up.
Muy cierto,en mi país, Costa Rica,un país que respira y ama el fútbol,le hizo reverencia a su majestad MJ. y al básquetball.
here in Portugal the basketball exploded at that time. It´s was the only sport played by almost everyone in my school, awesome times. I played for 12 years and now i´m 47 and sometimes i´ll still go to the playground behind my house hit some baskets. MJ belongs without a doubt to the zeitgeist.
he didn't play for 2year after winning 3peat and comeback and win another 3peat thats the GOAT
Micheal Phelps
Usain Bolt can probably give him a run for his money.Only guy I can think of.
Joshua Haynes Kevin Durant and many others mid range game is perfect micheal jordan didn’t have the best mid range ever but he shot from there the most but Kevin Durant is just as good except he shoots the 3 better and can score easily at will

What a summary of his career. Very beautifully done!
Bryan Burgos Amador down 4 with a minute to go in game 6 in 93 was the closest he got and then 98 with the shot
How many first round losses?
@@scottsdalerob9814 doesnt matter ... yeah he lost to alltime great teams in the 80s like birds celtics who had 4 hall of famers on the team .... them 80s lakers n celtics teams would own todays nba to big n tall and they actually played defense

Truly the greatest of all time no doubt
During the pre-game for Duke/North Carolina last year, a student asked the ESPN commentators if you took the greatest players for Duke all time and the greatest players from North Carolina of all time and they played a game, who would win? Jay Bilas had the best answer. He said that there have been amazing players for both teams but it comes down to this, "one team has Micheal Jordan and the other team doesn't." True story.

I'm a big Bulls fan but seeing him on a Jumbotron or TH-cam just doesn't compare.
I had the opportunity to witness him playing during the 90s (when he was less impressive offensively than he was back in the 80's) , every week the top 10 plays in the NBA had like 3 or 4 involving MJ.
Every Bulls game was a surreal experience at that time.
KostasSiderisBarista I agree ... people dont understand how dominant Jordan was in the finals.. like George Karl said if your gonna beat Jordan in the finals your gonna have to cut his hesrt out
KostasSiderisBarista he broke his foot not his leg
Jordan had the perfect career .. he was sorda lucky he caught the lakers when they was old and without kareem in the 90 finals.. once birds celtics and magics lakers got old that opened the door for jordan ... hes def the goat but the 90s bulls wasnt as good as the 80s lakers n celtics period
Yep, the flu game revealed Jordan's true character. It was amazing and iconic.
Great Breakdown Summary! The Best...you never wanted to miss a game!
The feeling winning the championship and his father behind him patting him on the back. The rush he must of felt. Doing his best all the time no matter what is going on.
Not gonna lie, I almost teared- up a little when he talked about his dad.
Hard work , talent , dedication , discipline , good genetic , Jordan .
LEbron is great, Kobe was great, but if you lived in Michael˙s time you know that he was something special, a true legend, just the charisma he had was untouchable.
This is so true. Just reading this made me emotional 😢
