It's been said before but I'll say it again, that dispatcher is on her game. I'm amazed how smoothly she runs through the departments, trucks, and equipment that are being dispatched to the fire. She doesn't without missing a beat. Hats off to her. I also applaud this fire department. They are easily one of the finest I've ever seen. They don't miss a beat when attacking a fire. They size things up very quickly and normally get fires under control in what had to be an amazing amount of time. This channel should be required watching for anyone who aspires to be a fire fighter.
You can tell just by the way the support lady at central is so calm and professional, sounds like she enjoys what she does and the fact that she had already notified gas etc at the end of the video. Key member to the high performance team even if she isn't fighting the fires.
This property was set on fire 7 more times after this. The owners had passed away and squatters took over. They are the ones that brought the junk and started the fire. The new property owner bought the land with the burnt out structure. Homeless people set up tents inside and set fire to it again. Being the next door neighbor we pleaded with the owner to do something about it but the guy just ignored us saying that he couldn't do anything because he "was cursed by a witch"???. With the last fire our roof cought fire and it killed our 20 year old almond tree. Along with three cherry trees. We told the owner that he either got rid of the squatters or he had to pay for a new roof (we were already in the process of replacing it so we were going to tear it down anyway) he ended up getting them out. The owner had to pay for our trees and ultimately lost the property. Thank you very much Stockton Fire Department.
You should have told the idiot a witches curses only works on you if you believe it does . That property owner was just lazy and put all of you at risk as a result
@@derrickguffey4775 Yeah. I guess he believed it. He crashed his truck, Lost the property, got a heart attack, and then was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. A whole lot of bad luck but, witchcraft seriously?
Stockton got it good tho they don't have high buildings with 5 or more floors the max there is like 2 floors even on apartments but the act fast because it's hot weather nobody wants to be outside not even neighbors😀. only this little 3 block radius has like 3 4 floors by the tax collectors offices that's it
Great fire attack and protection of exposures. Just advice for Alpha side attack crew. If water is not ready and you are not about to make entry control your door. If you watch before they mask up there is only turbulent smoke. When the line is charged and ready for interior attack the structure has flashed. This is simple but easy to forget. Good work guys
The first thing I said when I seen the yard, what heaping pile of crap. I be the inside is worse. And it was. No surprise that there was a fire in that location. Probably was a good thing that it burned. Maybe it'll get cleaned up now
hey, that's my old neighborhood. They're trying to fix it up, but it's not easy. Very depressed area. Lots of drug trafficking when we lived there. Nothing but the greatest respect for firefighters, everywhere.
I just wathed you well made Video, and i like the subtitles explaining the Situation. May i express my respect for these Firefighters. They are very busy and still going strong. I hope you get the Suport you may need. Greetings from Germany. (we have a busy Firedepartment too in our much smaller Town)
Great Videos. I am an instructor and curious if there is any way to embed this video to use as teaching aid. the video does a great job on radio communication, size up, live advancement, fire dynamics, flow path, transitional fire attack, etc. PLEASE HELP
I've been to mobile home fires where people where still living and was bumping my head on the ceiling because there was so much trash on the floors that I had to climb over.
Stockton always hustles aggressively on incidents, outstanding performance. however I don't find any reason when you have smoke showing from a distance why you would drive by hydrants and wait for the next engine to bring it to you . Fire fighting first law: establish a good water supply. Waiting for next engine is going to come back and bite you one of these days. Murphy's law is in effect!! They can have machinal failure, traffic accident, take wrong street, many things can and will go wrong. Waiting for next engine for your water is no different then a cop having a friend load his gun at the start of a shift. Some things you just don't do. Passing a water supply is going to cost you one day not in structural/material loss but human suffering. Perhaps a topic for the brass to digest?
Excellent job fighting this hoarder fire! The only critique to give, as a former FF and now an occupational toxicologist studying ways to reduce toxic exposures that cause cancers and other medical maladies, is that the company fighting the initial D side exposure near what appears to be a garage belching out trash did not have SCBA masks on. Even a little smoke has an impact on the body and not knowing what is the that pile or behind that garage door makes even more hazardous. Otherwise solid, great job!!!
Still another example of a well-trained, effective and professional Fire Department. Any city would be proud to have such a skilled group of firefighters.
Impressive response time and fire attack!!!! The training and assessments are incredible and efficient!!!!! I commend your leadership for developing an amazing fire family!
Very nice video! I really enjoy the video set up with audio and provided subtitles as well. The communication aspect is amazingly clear as well, all parties working together. Fantastic job and love the aggressive fire attack. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Great video showing the realities a firefighter faces when entering a burning building. When I trained for this back in the 1970's I had a piece of waxed paper stuck in my mask to simulate the zero visibility that I would encounter on a real fire.
I don't understand why the one guy that had the tip brought it from fighting fire on the exterior to the front door where fire was blowing out and then just put it down so another guy could take it and put out his fire...NEVER GIVE UP THE TIP!
These brothers do a great job getting it done, I like these videos. Only thing I wish to see is closing that front door while waiting for water. Minimize the fresh air into the flow path as much as you can. But pretty jealous how much work these guys get lol
These videos are awesome, sequencing that can be followed, radios tell you what is happening, the subtitles clarify. You videos and Department make everyone else look second string or High School.
Well done guys. Very well laid out vid. If I had known your stats I would have tried to get on there when I started my career and had endless energy and strength.
If the inside looked anything like the outside, I am surprised they went in. It is hard to tell for sure from the video. Some of those hoarder houses can swallow a firefighter whole. The overhaul must be really bad. No wonder there was so much smoke for such a small structure.
Michael Daniels there's a few guys in my department with go pros. If they start to melt then your to hot to begin with same with the plastic radios we carry.
Hoses and tools 15-25 minutes pending on size and amount as well as exhaustion level of crew. Time back to station 5-15 minutes pending traffic and location. Refill of tanks if reserves were used. 10-20 minutes pending system and amount of tanks. replenish of exhaustible supplies 5-10 minutes. It can be as little as 15 minutes or as much as an hour and a half pending all that. Basically the more intense the call the longer it will take.
Not long...large urban firedepts ( like mine) will simply roll a supply line throw loose ones in adjacent hose bed get on go to next one hook up to hydrant( depending on which due you are) in about 5 mins or less.Dept is not spred out and its in a east coast row house packed city.
That was a great video. I’m not old enough to be a fire fighter but I’m really close. You showed me more of what it looks like, how it sounds, and I liked how you said stuff on the bottom of the screen.
Our fire department has a position titled Chief's Operator 1. The position has been around (we believe) since the 1950's, and originally held duties as the Fire Chief's chauffeur and assisted with anything the Fire Chief needed. The position is currently detached from the Fire Chief, and serves in several important ancillary duties. They hold an engineer's rank, which is promoted via Civil Service.
Damn hoarders and addicts. This would be a fire I’d dread goin in if I was a fire fighter. I would have let the damn thing burn and just protect the surrounding area

You get used to it. Only thing missing is hot dogs to roast for lunch :)
Proper ppe, training and knowledge of fire behaiver helps a lot.

You do an amazing job editing these videos
These are the best videos the subscripts and audio excellent. Technically these guys are excellent !!!!!

Exactly. Looks like the set of "Sanford and son". Only thing missing is fred, lamont and aunt esther.

“Dumpster with a roof” - that’s an insult to dumpsters everywhere!😂
Most houses in Stockton are dumpsters.

How as a firefighter do you navigate through a tike like 5:51? How do you do it?
On average, how long does it take to redeploy an engine that has just finished at one fire site to a new fire?
Depends on how much resources are used. Refill tank, tools, relay hose. Could take up to 10 minutes minus travel time.

My uncle in Australia held that position. Thanks for the explanation.
why did they open the door without a hose line, and leave it open. Quiet the delay
