"Lethal Tempo" would have gone so hard as the name for Project L
Lethal Tempo is hands down the best suggestion ive ever seen for me, as Fighting Games do have a sense of Rhythm hence the "Tempo", and also have a sense of relation with League.
"Lethal" and "Tempo" aren't terms used in fighting games. It sounds cool but doesn't fit the genre

I think just Double Kill, or Double KO would've been better, the first one clearly appalling to League, the second one being closer to the actual name of the game and mixing the first one with a more typical fighting game term.
I think the intent of 2hko is that it sounds like a shortened version of the name of a game like it happens with many FGs like SF6, UMVC, SSBU, etc.
It's a bit too close to Lethal League in my opinion.

The term "tempo" isn't even that defining to league as it is much more known and used in card games. I bet the average player has literally no clue what the concept of tempo even means in league...
Point still being the name doesn't necessarily have to be anything concerning a "Fighting Game" just something that fits and is a reference to their other projects like wtf does the name "Valorant" have to do with a FPS shooter, except that it's a reference to League Lore and Lethal Tempo i just a better name overall than 2xko.

@@KiansEgothe Double Knockout would be amazing if that were the actual name of the game and 2XKO was just the styled abbreviation, but it's not. They didn't call it Double Knockout, they straight up said "It's pronounced as spelled", which is dumb.

I'm gonna be real, they really missed out on this one. Symultaniously tells you "hey this is a fighting game" and "This is a fast paced game" all while being something League players would double take on and go "WAIT A SECOND THAT'S LEAGUE!"
The problem with that is if you wanna get better and search something like “lethal tempo yasuo tips” all you’ll get is league videos.
Lethal Tempo is good or if they’re so insistent on naming the game what you do in the game, call it double kill cause even that still relates to league (with the announcer when you get two kills)
I actually had a 25 minute argument with a friend why Lethal Tempo wouldn't make sense. It doesn't at all imply that the game is a 2v2 fighting game, it is quite generic, and it doesn't sound good for a brawler game not like mortal combat.

Just call it Double Kill (as you have to defeat the 2 characters your enemy controls) and DK as an abbreviation, it fits and works perfectly.
Even though the concept of a double kill is massively associated with League, is not exclusive to.

I feel like a possible way to refer to it is 2ko, following the trend of not pronouncing the x in anime titles, and 2ko flows a lot easier. 2x and ko just sound strange and 2k is already taken by nba

Ah yes! A name! Something that makes you immediately recognize a game! Let me give you a hint: Don't make the customer unable to pronounce it while also making it void of substance. Trying to distance it from the universe from where the characters, abilities, enviroments and story comes from is.......the weirdest choice I've seen in a long while

the issue i have with the name is that it is focusing alot in the already existing fighting games comunity but name wont atract new people when first look at it, it means fighting games stuff but new people in the genre how will they realise the name meaning? sure it wont change the product and might still be good fighting game either way but from a markting standpoint is really weird that they chose that name

Tuco Salamanca's a pretty familiar, and scary, name to a lot of people, so being called "Tuko" would probably carry it.

2XKO looks literally like the abbreviation of that 2 gorgeous champions, one KOs the other.
A very explicit name
Names that would have been infinitely better/more interesting:
* Riftmaker (A reference to the item, to Summoners Rift, and by definition, divide/rupture. Shortens to Rift or RM)
* Essence Reaver (a strong name that shortens to E.R., which is unused in the fighting game space)
* Sudden Impact, Gathering Storm, First Strike, or as someone on reddit suggested, Lethal Tempo (all rune references and unique or instantly recognizable. Each shorts well)
* Deathfire Touch or Stormraider's Surge (both references to older masteries, and shorten extremely well. Fighting games are also famous for "Touch of Death" combos, making Deathfire Touch a solid reference to the genre. DFT and SRS respectively).
* Choncc Dome (a reference to the league event held 2023, and also MOTHAFUKKIN CHONCC)
* Project L (goes without saying)

This could be abbreviated to 2xTKoR, or Tx2KoR, but it could easily be shortened down to just Tx2 or KoR, so that they're actually pronounceable. Also the word "Revolution" could possibly be switched out for "Evolution", whichever sounds better.

btw, the shortening of names has it local variations. Like in here in Brasil most ppl will use celulol (celular means cellphone, + lol) rather than WildRift. Ppl here are already calling it Tchucko and 2 chico.
two Ex, Two Kay or Tyouko. Those are shortened versions of the 2xko and how i would pronounce them.
"Two times ko" would be the same, just easier to say - lengthen the name to make it easier, then shorten it to TTKO :D

My guess is that people will shorten it to just 2KO. Also, when I first saw the title my brain immediately read it as "Ekko", like, bruh.
The issue with the pronunciation is that the name is just letters, not words, for non-english speaking countries this name is even worse and almost unpronounceable 2XKO have a huge different pronunciation and may even mean nothing, thigs like "Dois xis kapa oh" or "Doi Ix Ca Oh"
