You can't get voted out of ownership. And you can set up shareholders agreements that require unanimous consent of shareholders to make decisions. If they're smart in how they set up the businesses they can retain control, or some measure thereof. That said, even if the Sharks took over and turn the business into multi million enterprises they still win.
You can't vote them out once they have bought a percent of the business (it's not like a public official who can be voted out of office), if the original owner wants to take back the shark's half of the business they'd have to come to an another agreement to be bought out of their contract (basically buying back the shark's half)
That Torque Safe is safe when the lever is pressed and activated when released. Wouldn't it be safer if that was reversed so both switches need to be 'on'?

I think the sharks just heard: "It's some safety thing, and maybe there are some sales there backing the valuation." Let's hope their due diligence includes having one of their engineers saying if it's a sane idea or not, lol.
The reason it works when you let go is because the first person places and removes their hand so the drill can be activated. So the product stops early activation while the first tech is still placing the drill.
I just red up that Torque Safe has a net worth from 2020 of 67 Million. These guys did absolutely fantastic to take home 500k and have 3 sharks helping them and getting 50% of what ever gets sold. That's the first time I've seen a deal like that happen on Shark Tank.
I can't say I have ever torqued what Torque Safe is meant for, so maybe I don't fully understand why it's made the way it is, but to me, it would make more sense if the valve was reversed so that if your hand wasn't on the safety switch it wouldn't work. Taking your hand off while your hand is the tomato seems like the type of fumble that would actually cause the injury, not while the tool is in your control with the switch.
The Just Jerky guys said, "[Glen] was fighting for us." I didn't remember that, so I had to go back and re-watch it.
