      That would be a lot harder I think, just make sure it’s getting tacky so your handles don’t fall into the epoxy (I’ve done this!) lol 😄

    This is gorgeous. Did you spray the alcohol on or just kind of flick it with your fingers? I love your tutorials. I think you could do away with the music all together. I kept having to fiddle with the volume depending on weather. you were talking or not because the music is louder than your voice. I'd love to see you do an introductory tumbler video on why you do what you do etc. Your work is beautiful.

    That looks really cool! My mom accidentally bought a resin kit, but it didnt come with any molds or pigments lol, so I decided to order some and I got a tray mold. I still dont know how to do resin but I did do some small stuff. I’m hoping to learn with some videos

I shipped a resin tray to my client did exactly what you did to secure the handles , even added two layers of resin to make sure they are completely fixed but when it reached my client the handles were broken from the base.. any tips?? Or was it just due to shipping?

    Love this!! ❤️❤️ Beautiful!!
    Can you make the tray thicker? How durable is cured epoxy? Also, can you give steps on how you prep the mold? Thanks!! ❤️😊

    • @GlazedEpoxy
      @GlazedEpoxy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you!! Epoxy is VERY durable! And you can make it as thick as your mold, but if you get much thicker you need a casting epoxy (different pouring depths need different formulas to cure properly) but casting epoxies don’t hold color the same. I want to do some cutting boards using really pretty wood and doing a river in the middle! So I just spray a mold release spray on the mold, and sometimes I will mix gold mica powder with alcohol and paint the edges of the mold first, I will definitely add that to my list of videos to do! Thank you for watching! ❤️💕

    Hi there! Love this video! I’ve watched it so many times! Question- general rule of thumb, how thick should a resin tray/coaster be?!

    • @GlazedEpoxy
      @GlazedEpoxy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you for watching! So a coaster can be pretty thin, like 1/8 inch, and as thick as 1/2 inch, just whatever you prefer! For trays, I like them to be no smaller than 1/4 inch, so they don’t bend at all. Also if you pour one and decide it’s too thin, you can just add a layer of clear to make it the thickness you want! I hope that helps! 🥰

    Beautiful tray!! Quick question - how do I smooth the edges, if they are rough on my tray? Thank you

    • @GlazedEpoxy
      @GlazedEpoxy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! So just take a fine sandpaper and carefully go along the edges that you want smooth, just keep in mind you will want to paint them after since the sanding will leave it a little cloudy. Thank you for watching! 🥰

    Can I use simple lighter instead of torch or heat gun.. or what other thing I can use to remove bubbles ? Can I use paper cups or simple plastic cups for mixing resin ? From where u got silicone mixing cups n beaker ? Can I use normal surgical gloves ?

    • @GlazedEpoxy
      @GlazedEpoxy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I have seen people use a regular lighter instead, it will help but it’s not as effective as a torch. You can also use a blow dryer to move the color around and the heat from that helps pop bubbles as well! The nice thing about the plastic mixing cups is that there are measurements on them to mix your epoxy correctly. I’ve never used paper cups but it could work fine for mixing color into the mixed epoxy. Yes any type of disposable gloves are fine! I get my mixing cups from Amazon in bulk! I hope I answered everything, please let me know if you have any other questions! ❤️☺️
