What i really loved about these guys was their conscious effort to not sound like they were from New York or LA. They represented the true voice of black London.
Hence why I find it hard to listen to other old school UK hip hop artists like Hijak and that. Their American sounding accents are so forced and awkward. I much prefer the beats over the vocals when it comes to acts like them.. But London Posse? Whole different kettle of fish, mate. Love the vocals and the beats..
slick rick brought this flow to new york from london, do your homework kid. Before slick rick aka londoner new yorkers were on some ''a hip hip hip hip hop to the hip hip hop and you dont stop the rock'' shit .. dont try it
I love the real british accent, and the fact these man actually show the Jamaican/Caribbean roots behind the uk slang, some of which we still using, and i werent even born when this was made, but fuck faking an accent big up London Posse mandem
Before grime and drill music. We had London Posse creating a whole new way of delivering UK Hip Hop. We didnt have to copy the Americans because we already had a rich history in the UK, and these guys made me proud to be from London. It just worked, and it influenced so many other hip hop artists across the UK to embrace their Britishness.
Possibly the greatest group ever from the UK and definitely one of the best groups worldwide in my opinion. London Posse had lyrics, beats, flows, concepts, style, swagger, originality, creativity and just all around mad flava.
I definitely rate Black Twang but not as highly as London Posse. Black Twang was a level below them, more comparable, skill-wise, with Gunshot, Jehst, Lewis Parker and so on. To me London Posse was above them all. And I mean the best London Posse tracks were better than the best tracks the others made. But they all had great skills.
Nah...Silver Bullet, Gunshot, Hardnoise, Killa Instinct and Hijack pissed all over them to be honest. None of them really got the recognition they truly deserved.
stephen seymour nah hijack were crap except for gunshot who?? Gutter snipes brotherhood and silent eclipse where it's at but London posse should've been bigger bionic should've never stopped ! His voice was THE London sound . Would've smashed it now still

I remember seeing London posse in concert back in October 1988 Brixton Academy, killed it and they were the warm up, I haven't really heard this version as I've always listened to the ragga mix, it was wicked to hear how the lyrics are different, thats what you called Genius
What’s crazy if I had listened to this in 1993 when I was 14. I wouldn’t have rated this cos of the English accent even tho am British but now in 2021 . I so appreciate this
The London Posse reunion show at the Jazz Cafe last night was immense. Easily the best show of the last 10 years if not more. Bionics reaction to the whole thing was Very emotional and they both killed it. They still have a few more dates so if there is still tickets and you didn't reach last night then i would say go if you have any passing interest in the history of UK Hip Hop

The fact of the matter is that these guys are unfortunately forgotten, and in all honesty UK rap wasnt that big in 90's. the uk grime, garage, hip hop and jungle scene, especially Jungle stemmed from reggae, dub, acid house, techno, hardcore and more. London posse were great but not as influencial as we would like to believe.
noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, not true at all, not true...nooooooooo this rap has no bearing on grime at aaaalllllllllll if anything this is what grime wanted to get away from. You tell a grime kid or an eski beat listener that rap and grime are the same and that is a major offence to them.
jckyng Exactly! i've heard of london posse before but honestly this is the first time i've listened to one of their tracks...the only good thing i personally have to say is that i'm glad that they didn't rap in fake american accents...but the negatives for me is that even though they didn't do that, their persona still felt american, like fake american...they didn't offer anything unique, imo. I was 3 at the time when this came out but had i been a teenager at the time i definitely would not have had this in my music collection, I would have rather listened to something american because to me this sounds like an attempt to be american so whats the point in having the fake when you can listen to the real.
