  • Late Show with David Letterman... I wish somebody would have told me not to have dubbed and redubbed all of my vhs tapes in case I would be sharing them with a zillion people...

    Never get enough of Richard Harris . To be such a hell raiser, he never lost his little boy charm.

    I have been an admirer of Richard since the Sporting Life. But I love most about him is not necessary his superb acting skills & wonderful voice but his personality. So open, direct, & honest. Above all he was a man who lived life.

    Years ago, I saw an interview with Richard Harris, I believe on one of the American late night shows, and he spoke of his Parents & that they were a product of an arranged Marriage. It was one of the most touching stories I have ever heard. I have looked for that interview literally for many subsequent years, without success. If anyone has knowledge of that interview & how it might be found, I would be eternally grateful.

    God, I love this guy. many many years ago, on Carson's Tonight Show, when Harris still had black hair and beard, he told a story about being drunk. He was out in a parking lot where there was a long row of cards parked side-by-side. He decided to take off his shoes and get up and run over the tops of the cars for fun. So he's running over the car roofs in his stocking feet, totally bombed...not noticing one of the cars was a police cars with two cops sitting in it. we screamed with laughter at the telling.

      .I love him too. He never had black hair. He had red hair and for some years, after A MAN CALLED HORSE, he dyed blonde.as he himself said in an interview.

      Cody Short My uncle met him at the St Paddy's ball in the White House that year when they were in line to meet Clinton. He spent the whole night either flirting with women young enough to be his daughter or telling stories...oh and he was totally fucked. He never gave up the booze. Great guy though...very personable.

    Letterman adored Harris as a guest. I seem to remember after one spot Harris did, Letterman said something like 'See, that's what we want from a guest on the show. Four great stories. That's all we want.' And there are fewer better than the late great hellraiser.

      Dave said that when they came back from commercial after this interview. One of Daves' most memorable interviews ever. Ever since this interview, if I'm riding in a car with someone and they have not noticed the light has turned green I say "Is there a particular shade of green your waiting for " in my best Irish accent.

    I think this is the appearance when, after returning from the break, Dave made a blanket suggestion for future guests to use Richard Harris as the template for appearing on the show. 'Four great stories'.

    You can really see the resemblance to his son Jared (Lane on Mad Men, Moriarty in RDJ's Sherlock Holmes, etc.).

    • @julieann1688
      @julieann1688 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see a resemblance, but with all due respect Richard is way better looking and has a much more gregarious and outgoing personality. Jared seems pretty tame.
