dude you’ve been my go to for gray zone stuff. keep it up. you’re one of the first in and this may be the game that people associate you with on your content journey
I appreciate the kind words I love this game and if this is the game people want to associate with me I will be more than happy with that. Have a few videos today, but then taking Saturday off for F1 and then back Sunday morning
Dude these videos have helped me so much getting these beginner tasks done efficiently. Been able to knock out multiple tasks in single raids. You’re awesome 👏
Yeah, at that point, you would need level four ceramic plates to stop armor penetrating rounds. I don’t even know if there are level four plates in this game.
With Handshake rank 2 - Lancer probably protects best but personally I prefer running Recon + Commander just for the fact that you can often find Commander vests from NPC's so it's easy to replace it compared those that are combined where you basically need to go back to base camp and replace the whole thing
I’ve been rocking some random scav’s III+ best and chest rig that I found over near sawmill for a week because they don’t sell anything comparable to it in the vendor stall.
Caliber has nothing to do with power but does have something to do with size. A 45 caliber bullet is .45 inches in diameter. A 7.62mm bullet is .3 inches in diameter approximately. There's some other stuff going into that but the bullet will be around .308 or .311 inches. A 7.62x39mm does not have the same "power" as 7.62x54r even though they are the same sized projectile. NIJ bases its levels on speed and size of projectiles. Hope this helps for the future.
There's a good amount of enemies that use some AP ammo in the areas past the starter villages. You'll still want to be careful with any of these vests. Quick search for body armor ratings will help you if you really want an example.
for helmetsz there is a video on youtube showing that modern helmets are able to stop shrapnels or low caliber ammos. but against almost every rifle round they are useless. almost every round goes through the helmet in and out
I've never had a helmet stop a round in this game so far. Almost pointless to even wear them. At least as far as the vendor armor is concerned for lvl 2.
FYI: the developers (or maybe many TH-camrs?) seem to be confused on NIJ certification ratings. It sounds like you got this right, bro, but the info is inconsistent across TH-cam. Level IIIA is pistol rated armor up to .44 Magnum. IIIA+ is pistol rated armor up to .44 Magnum and some additional protection (seems to vary by manufacturer in some cases) like stab protection, .50AE rounds, maybe certain AP pistol rounds, and possibly very limited and never promised rifle round protection in some scenarios. It's commonly soft armor but can be done as plates as well. Level III armor is rifle rated up-to .30-06 (AP, I think). It is superior to IIIA, typically not a flexible material, like steel, poly, or ceramic hard plates, but some systems are flexible (shout out to Safelife Defense FRAS), and usually heavier (poly is pretty light). Level IV armor is rated for more AP rounds, more impacts, and higher calibers. I don't know the exact spec. I imagine the developers will learn this at some point and update the game to reflect the difference, which could change gameplay significantly for people running IIIA and thinking they're Superman.
dude stop reading my mind. istg last night i was struggling on a task, looked it up to find that you had a guide posted a few hours before. Then last night i was wondering what the armor levels meant and you drop this.
Going to the military bases and killing some bots is a great wat to get the best armor. Although it doesnt have side potection if you take engagments facing enimies you dont have to worry.
Only thing i want to point out Irl both A and + are lower than the number rating and not + being higher. It would go 1A < 1+ < 1 < 2A < 2+ < 2 etc. Great content regardless 👌
Nope. The + rating isn't an NIJ standard at all. It was added to *some* level III armour by *some* manufacturers to indicate it has been tested against a specific threat (AP ammo, for example).
@TH-camStoleMyName759 ah gotcha it's been about 7 or 8 years since I got mine so I'm likely not caught up on the current standards I know it was a little loose there for a while with all the small companies popping up with experimental bs
@@_Dippy All the standards are confusing as hell. US mil, NIJ, EU, German ... Looking at the NIJ website, it seems they are introducing another standard based on the threat of modern weaponry, whatever that means.
Personally I like to run the 901, chances of you getting shot in the back n surviving is so low that i genuinely don't see a reason for me to need it. Everything I do get shot from the back even w the lancer, i ended up dying anyway.
Bro - You are saving so many Hours for us. Awesome Work youre doing here ! Hope every lazy GZW player like me/us supports the channel an leaves a like and a follow !
IIA < IIA+ < II < II+ < IIIA < IIIA+ < III < III+ Or at least that's how it is irl. The + just means it exceeded the minimum requirements (it stopped higher pen bullets than the non+ level requirement) but not all the required to be the next level. So if IIA should be stopping bullets x and y while II should be stopping x, y, z and w; an armor that stops x, y and z but not w would be IIA+. I've heard that in the game IIIA+ might be better than III but don't take my word on that because if it's true it's probably a bug.
@@matejmarosz20 If you think it's obvious you have very clear biases that you should be questioning. Not being sure of stuff and asking questions is good. Don't assume you know everything just because you feel it's intuitive, intuition is often wrong. Also don't be an asshole like that.
Multiple times I've been out there and had a helmet get dropped to less then 30% durability. Keep in mind this game uses physics so the further a bullet travels the less speed it has which means the less penetrating power it has. I have no math to prove this as well but I suspect that when a bullet hits armor it also reduces its penetrating power. The bullets need to create a deep enough cavity to destroy your internals. Also for whatever reason a lot of AI prefer to use 7.62 US which is a subsonic round with not a lot of penetrating power. The helmets will save your life. They're also irrelevant if you get hit dead center of the head in CQB by some gorilla fighters 5.45 FMJ. It honestly is a case by case basis type of thing if you should or should not buy a helmet. If you're willing to spend 2-4,000 on a gun and +600 on bullets for a single mission then the least you can do is buy a helmet.

The reason you'd want the 901 is for container size. And I don't plan on getting shot in the back. hahaha. BHD reference there XD
its like getting your weapons etc insured before a raid in tarkov.... you only get insured if you are thinking you are going to die LOL
Black hawk down is a great movie
Get a 6b23 then thats 3+ and on top get a 6sh102 (16slot rig)
But spoiler alert, Joyce ended up getting shot in the back soooooooo maybe do take those back plates.
That reference lolol and "did you bring ammo and night vision " whenever on an op

I’m so happy to help! I promise to get back to working hard tonight!
@@OneShotRich keep it up man! You’ll be a gray zone go to for many people!
its not that easy... 5.56 HP/SP wont penetrate IIIA Armor... FMJ/AP will penetrate even III and III+

5.56 goes through the IIIA armor
What about IIIA+ on the helmets?
lllA < lllA+ < lll < lll+
I believe this is the priority
0:00 - 0:12 intro
0:13 - 1:15 protection levels
1:16 - 2:19 plate location
2:20 - 2:31 vest vs carriers
2:32 - 2:59 personal opinion
3:00 - 3:25 helmets

what is IIA+ helmet
I’ve been rocking some random scav’s III+ best and chest rig that I found over near sawmill for a week because they don’t sell anything comparable to it in the vendor stall.
So, IIIA is less then III and III+ is eve better, why do i have a helmet that is IIIA+?
Its inbetween
PSA: the material matters. Steel is the best material for AP rounds (end game areas) UHWPE is better than aramid helmets.
INPORTANT.
I promise to make this an important topic on the updated guide.
Thanks for the amazing video! Quick and informative video + nice voice to listen too:D Keep it up man. Best regards, Phil.
I sure will keep it up! I will keep it pumping!
If you can find it get the pantsir 2.0. If you don't have handshake level 3. It's front and back ceramic level 3. 9 capacity.
if ur getting shot in the back u need to take whatever engagements ur getting into slower
You can buy T3 plus from handshake T3

Exactly what I have been emphasizing, slight recoil chance but most bullets the AI use are penetrating helmets.
The GOAT of gray zone warfare

I tried my best to read up on it before providing the information!
However, thank you for this super helpful info. Thank you for taking your time ❤️
Dude thanks for the explanation. I used to wear various body armor and still didn’t understand the game system.

Tier IIIA+ then?
Is the ammo one next ? Thanks potential for the channel to blow up with this game 🎉
Yes! Uploading it Friday Evening!
Maybe 3, 3+ with tier 3 handshake... deciding whether to level up artisan or handshake rn.

how do you wear armour plate carrier and a chest rig at the same time?
You don't. If the armour has storage, it doubles as your chest rig.
what about tire 2?i found some helmets and they are IIA😢
IIA irl is only rated to stop up to .40 cal, so basically just pistol rounds.
@@nomadicbigbird2114 Okay,sell them all
Whats your grafic gamma settings and such things for this colour ?
I dropped a video on it!
What about protection material? they different!
THannks for the video! :)
So there is no helmet in the game right now that do so you can not be one shot in the head? :-(
So far at level 2 traders these may stop with a ricochet but the armor class is lower than most of the AI guns.

Is there any tier 4 in the game
There’s tier 3 plus got one with supporter edition
