What i love about Bayonetta is it's strong theme with music and love songs, the guns being named after love songs and each game having a love song as a battle theme, i love that Fly me to the moon in the first game also applied to the plot, no wonder people loved Bayonetta.
the artistic inspirations of Bayonetta are so often overshadowed by other aspects of the game - thanks so much for making this channel and uncovering the rich lore of this kickass series!
This is the first gun design idea I've seen, where the guns are silver and not another colour of the rainbow. I'm impressed! 3:05 Rosa's guns (Bayo's mother) named _"Unforgiven"_ are also designed after revolvers, making this a neat connection.
Your very well spoken with your videos on the Bayonetta series. ❤❤ You should do a speculation on the types of umbra witches from Bayonetta’s Accessories.
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment! 💖 I definitely would like to go in depth at some point on the lore of Umbra Witches, even moreso than the last time I did.
I am DRUNK in LOVE with the charms for each gun & your thought process behind the designs of the guns!!!(Seriously, in the words of Val Garland: DING DONG) I cannot wait to see more weapons you come up in the future! I actually got some ideas if you don't mind me sharing: Boitata: A chakram-like weapon with a built-in buzzsaw containing the soul of Boitata, a fiery serpent demon said to have managed to somehow escape the depths of Inferno & haunt deep within the Amazonian Forest. Due to its large-scale, Bayonetta wields it like a hula-hoop, swinging it around her hips or tossing it at her enemies before it returns to her hands. The Umbran Fragrance would give Bayonetta ruffles & bells throughout her outfit like a clown/jester (Think Harley Quinn-Inspired) Dukuwaqa: A bladed hoverboard-like weapon containing the soul of a Dukuwaqa, a shark-like, merman demon warrior said to lurk deep below the Coctycus River. Bayonetta can wield this weapon alongside her guns & is able to slice through her opponents by performing certain tricks with it. (Think the combat system for that new game Gori: Cuddly Carnage). The Umbran Fragrance would give Bayonetta a puffer jacket like Marty Mcfly from the "Back to the Future" franchise. Dullahan: A battle axe/kusarigama/meteor hammer hybrid weapon containing the slain souls of Dullahan, a fearsome fairy warrior of the Avalon Forest whose bloodlust led to his gruesome demise via losing his head & being dragged down to Inferno where he still lives on to this day even without his head. Bayonetta can wield this weapon as either a standard battle axe or in its chain-mode & the lantern/flail part of the weapon (For more reference, think the moveset of the Pole Arm from "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance") shoots out souls resembling ghostly heads that ram themselves into Bayonetta's opponents. The Umbran Fragrance would give Bayonetta a fancy, Victorian-Era capelet making her look like a more sophisticated Grim Reaper. Moby-Dick: A pair of Sai Dagger's that can merge together to form a double-ended trident containing the soul of a Leviathan, a whale-like demon from the Cocytus River, that had somehow escaped Inferno, later on named Moby Dick by a mortal captain named Ahab who swore to hunt it down. The weapon can be wielded alot like how Bayonetta's father, Balder, wields the Holy Glaive or can conjure whirlpools that pull Bayonetta's opponents in by poledancing on it. The Umbran Fragrance would give Bayonetta a badass-looking leather jacket, making her look like a pirate captain.
Thank you and I love your weapon concepts! I did always want sais for Bayonetta and having them merge into a trident would be so amazing! The names are also really great too! Dullahan would be needed for sure so we can have more Avalon Forest representation. The fragrance ideas are by far my favorite because that extra detail of attention (I missed this in Bayonetta 3 but I guess the skins are a good alternative). I actually responded to a post on my community tab with an idea for a pair of cutlasses that would have Bayo in a pirate hat lol
Moby-Dick should be referenced to have a "deadly rivalry" with the Kraken of Bayo3 for two reasons: 1st) Both are the most popular mythological sea monsters in pop-culture. You either see "Leviathan", or "The Kraken" whenever the MC has to face something in the sea. 2) The Kraken is depicted as a giant octopus/squid, while Moby-Dick is depicted as a spermwhale, both animals are predator and prey in real life.
Wow ! I was not excpecting this ! But it's a good surpris ! It's already very interesting when you talk about the official media but now I will learn about about stuff YOU made for your original content ! And the design is sick and perfect for Bayonetta !
The guns in the sets are stylized versions of the Remington Model 1858 made to look in line with the Bayonetta series so I can see why Fine Romance looks like both! I had a great time walking through the design.
I would love to watch you come up with more ideas for bayonetta weapons. Like maybe weapons based on the gorgon sisters in Greek mythology. But either way, I would love to see more of your ideas.
I really like this design but if there's one thing I would add to it is in terms of functionality is Chrysalis. This was mainly shown in Color my world and the reason why I like this is because it gives the feel of causing more damage to an enemy compared to just shooting pure bullets at them. I would also say that like scarborough fair and love is blue I would keep the beast within mechanic because I liked that better compared to the demon masquerade. The difference would be the bird transformation has no time limit and like the puma you unlock it the moment you start playing just like how you start the third game off as Whittingham Bayonetta.
I really liked this idea!! you should definitely consider making more weapons in the future :) also I know this is probably a little too much to ask but how would you think these would work in game? Would they be similar to the main guns or would they have something different?
I did want them to be designed as a main set but I can also see them like a secret unlockable set for a Bayonetta who lives in Hollywood/LA instead of NYC.
Thank you so much! I know this video was different from my usual content so I've appreciated the warm reception! I feel like the weapons were easier because having to conceptually design Bayonetta is so daunting. Mari Shimazaki has my utmost respect. I kind of want to do more new weapon commissions once I can save enough money for more artists.
Thanks! I imagine Bayonetta would still be wearing black but with white accents. Probably on the charms dangling off whatever outfit she'd have matching this set.
Oh that's really cool! I never posted them anywhere, the post in the video was me asking for a commission to be done. I'll post the guns on my community tab soon.
Not pushy at all! Though, I do want to explore weapons Bayonetta has not used before, something like maybe a pair of sais or maybe something unconventional, I'd have to think about that one. As for a sword, maybe a pair of cutlasses to give more shape to the weapon, can make an Umbran Fragrance to give Bayo a pirate hat while using them. As for accessories, one that is able to increase knockback into the air to make it easier to set up aerial combos or maybe one that grants Bayonetta the Wings of Malphas ability she had in Bayonetta 2 but now she can just use those whenever.
@@UmbranLumen I didn't mean accessories as in, well, the accessories, I meant the things that hang on jeanne's guns, as in the angel feathers in 1 and musketeer cats in 2.
I still have to play Hades, I'm waiting for it to go on sale on Steam but I'm very excited to get to it once the winter sale comes and it's hopefully on.
The spheres remind me of gumball machines in a cute way, a great design choice too since both Bayonetta and Jeanne like to incorporate cute things into plenty of stuff they own.
Good question, I view it as me talking *more* in depth about the weapons I commissioned but I can see how that's silly since they were never shown before. 😅
@UmbranLumen not to be dramatic, but last time I checked each games' signature set of guns have a unique number of barrels. Scarborough fair has 2, love is blue has 1, colour my world has three, and the one in Bayonetta origins has 0. Just saying.
Thank you! the barrel thought wasn't my priority admittedly since I didn't want to make a successor gun type but if Bayonetta 4 comes out and she has a set of mini gatling guns as her signature I will be super excited to get to that.
What i love about Bayonetta is it's strong theme with music and love songs, the guns being named after love songs and each game having a love song as a battle theme, i love that Fly me to the moon in the first game also applied to the plot, no wonder people loved Bayonetta.
I love it too! Love songs that relate to the moon is my favorite staple they have. I can't wait for them to do Moondance! 🤞
@@UmbranLumen cool guns super cool desing
The level of consideration behind your design is immaculate everything is so very inspired
Thank you so much! I am just happy to see my thoughts realized in art form! Mutton Monkey did a wonderful job 💝
If it wasnt said before the quote for she done him wrong also ties in well with how bayonetta was born from a forbidden love
the artistic inspirations of Bayonetta are so often overshadowed by other aspects of the game - thanks so much for making this channel and uncovering the rich lore of this kickass series!

Such an IMMACULATELY designed pair of guns, this is so cool and fits so well with Bayonetta.
