Spot on. One ounce of gold costs less than ten 1/10th ounces of gold but I’d rather have ten 1/10th ounces than zero ounces. I’ve stacked thirty-six 1/10 ounce coins so far, mostly American Gold Eagles but I have 8 from the Perth Mint and a couple of Britannias and couple of Maples. When I’m looking at my stack, never once have I said, “If I had saved my money I could have one one-ounce coin instead of these eight 1/10th oz coins.”
Totally agree! I'm up to 119 tenth oz eagles and 203 dos pesos (mostly restrikes). I dont buy any 9999 gold because I enjoy handling it and the 917 or 900 can take it.
@@tomtharos4440 My dad used to say “pound salt.” Lol. In any case, you’re exactly right. I made the jump from silver after gaining a kilo and started on gold, so far I have around 11 grams in gold. 2 quater oz 2g 22k sovereigns and a 1/4 oz gold Britannia 24k. I love them, one of the sovereigns is a ww1 commemorative coin and plated in ruthenium which looks beautiful.

Our goals are in line for 2024, Stacker. I met a goal last year by adding 2 additional 1/4 oz coins to the 2 I already had. My goal for this year is more fractional gold in the form of 1/10 oz coins. While you get more gold for the buck with the 1/4 oz coins, 1/10 of an oz is my sweet spot...I like the fact that I can usually afford to pick one up every pay check, yet it still meets the minimum requirement for free shipping.
Absolutely! Love fractional gold. Buy a 1/10 coin or a 1g bar when the price is low and sell when the price is high. You can get a full ounce within a year.
Am going to continue stacking fractional gold this year. I have had small goals, mostly achieved, over the past 2+ years. Now I only stack AGEs. Wanted an oz of quarters, then two. Now I want a rounded off ten. I'm at eight 1/10 oz, also, so I need two more.
You are pretty close, less than $500 away from having the other two coins. I know you can do it. Best of luck this year adding gold to your stack getx1265
Well, I’m a silver stacker - I was a 1/10 oz hold stacker between 2014 and 2019 and then a little bit here and there but for the past year I focused on just quarter oz gold coins with my silver stack
I'm personally Stacking The Frac with Gold value, having increased considerably over the last year. I don't have a specific goal on how much I'd like to stack in 2024. However, my plan is to stack as I'm able. Happy New Year, FS to you and yours. 🍾🍾 🎉
I'm going with 1/4 oz gold but whatever is the best price, AGE, CML, Brit, whatever. I've bought three so far, one per month, since November. I buy silver whenever there's a dip but I tend to pick it up at my LCS so I don't have to drop $500 per order. Last gold purchase I made, I added eight oz of silver as well.
Still working at topping off this fractional eagle tube, slowly but surely going to get there. My plan is to finish it off then pack it away for years with no plans of selling so the higher premium doesn't matter much. Just not up to my silver base weight goal so it's hard to stack gold on my income level for the moment.
Hey Stacker good to see you are back. I actually bought one of those Pamp Azure Dragon 1 oz gold bars at Costco. My original plan was to own 10-12oz of gold in my life time. I am already at 6 to 7 oz. Only started stacking in July 2023 and did not even buy gold until a coin show in Seattle in August when gold was at around $1,900 per troy oz. Bought a lot of 1 grams at around $67 each now in the money on them. Also When Costco finally had gold bars in store gold was trading at $2,010 and Costco was selling the Pamp Gold dragon bars for $2,000 each I tried to by all I could and only managed to get 4-1oz bars ($8,000 in total and only time I have ever bought gold under spot). Those bars at Costco went fast. I bought my latest bar at Costco during New Years weekend. I went to my Costco and that same bar I paid $2,000 for was now $2,100 and gold traded at $2,072 at that time. Still great price for a Pamp gold bar Azure Dragon (Now I own 5 1 oz bars of those). The rest of the gold I have is 1g, 5g, and 10 gram bars. I also own 1/4 oz Kergraund and it is the only coin I own. I did notice Costco also now sells a one ounce Maple Leaf on their site for about the same price as the Pamp Azure Dragon 1 oz bar. So my question to everyone is given the choices which would you choose if both were same price 1 oz Pamp gold bar or a 1 oz gold Maple Leaf? I have also noticed at the LCS in the Seattle area, Swiss gold like Pamp are harder to come by versus other gold items. I wanted to ask the you and the chat what kind of gold sells well in your area. Thanks
I only came across stackin a yr a go never heard of it before better late than never 😊 i was watching aussie gold hunters and i did a search on line and up popped all these bullion dealers , i can afford 1/4 gold every month i mix it up with silver and platinium rotating monthly slow and steady the stack is growing.
I started last year, trading fiat paper for 1/10 oz gold eagle every month. I will continue with that and I will be adding 1 oz silver every week. 🏴☠️
Good stuff! The 1/10th oz Gold Eagle every month is a great goal to set out for and one many a stacker has undertaken in the past to get a gold stack going. You can do it!
Starting the year with a full ounce gold, then I’ll move onto my usual weekly silver buys. Every other week I will buy frac gold or frac platinum, rotating these. 123 goooooo
I started stacking 1/10 ounce gold Eagles 2023. From watching your videos I thought it would work well for me and so far so good. I think I have 26 now working on a full tube of 50. Also bought a 1/10 Perth mint kangaroo, a 1/10 Perth mint year of the rabbit and a Scottsdale 1/10 ounce Napoleon. After I refill the tube of eagles I will start on a tube of 1/4 eagles
I've been stacking gold Maple grams as of lately, and plan on switching over to 1/10 size gold American Eagles... I buy mainly silver and tac on one of these two types when it comes to gold... Silver wise I been stacking 2 Krugerrands, 2 ASE, 2 Britannias, and 2 Silver Maples silver why every payday... Just filling tubes that I get empty at the beginning of every year.... other than that I did buy a couple of numismatic I went ahead and collected the 2024 kookaburra, and the 2024 RCM prehistoric Series 2 oz coin woolly mammoth that came out recently... and I think I'm just going to continue on just doing my main silver stock and either getting a gram of gold or 1/10 size eagle
@@michaelphillips3123 I think historically they're kind of stuck in a weird spot between the 1/4 and 1 oz. I think with gold prices higher that the gap between 1/4 and 1 oz is much more for most people, therefore 1/2 ounce coins will probably be more popular moving forward. I've been buying more of them.
It's a self fulfilling prophecy, they're unpopular because they're unpopular. Personally the half is my favorite as well, and at about 1kea it's a neat little piece of gold. Might as well have a variety anyways
Yea, my comment never went out until now! I stay away from fractional because of the mentioned reasons, however my LCS recently came into a lot of 1/10 AGE and was selling at a fraction above spot, there I can rationalize a small premium! In the end it is better to stack than not at all so even procuring the 1/10 and 1/2 oz AGE is worth it in the end.
Great video as usual. One of my goals is to buy 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce of gold coins in 2024. Will also continue to stack silver Eagles, silver maple leafs and silver rounds. Really appreciate your channel.
I don't think stacking fractions is that bad! Look at the buy back prices and they aren't so wide. I also like the idea of fractional pieces to barter in a SHTF situation. Also why I have kilo size bars of silver and junk Silver as well as I Oz brittanias and silver eagles. I concentrate on platinum fractionals for a lot of my stack and I think it will be a good investment, someday you! Just have a wonderful feeling about platinum!
When, in your opinion, would you start to consider trading in some of your bulk generic Silver bars and rounds for Gold? I know the ratio is about 85:1 at the moment, but I'm just curious on you're thoughts
Hey, Jimmy. I would start trading 2/3 of my silver stack when the GSR hits 40:1. I would trade the silver in 10% increments and follow the GSR down in units of 2, so at 38, 36, 34, etc. to 1. If I traded all of my bars, Maples, and ASEs I would trade them in this order. The US 90% silver coins would be saved for last as potential barter money. My favorite coins are high quality 1880s-1890s Morgans, 1964 Kennedy halves, and the early to mid 2000s proof statehood quarters. We had the GSR drop to about 32:1 back in 2011 but my silver stack was small then since I'd only been stacking for a bit over a year at that time and wasn't into gold. In late 2013, the price of gold was down significantly from its 2011 highs, so I started stacking gold as well. In 2019, I met my silver stacking goal, so stopped buying silver unless something really nice came along at a decent price. Back in 2021, it did via a good friend of mine selling me AU class Morgans from a large amount of Morgans he'd just purchased from his dealer. He brought 200 of them to a meeting we'd scheduled, and I picked out 85 of them to add to my stack. The good news there was that he was selling these at the same price as the online dealers were charging for Morgan culls, so it was definitely a win-win in terms of coin price and quality. Since he bought these in bulk, probably in $1,000 face bags, I'm sure he made a profit on this deal. I did well too, so both parties were satisfied. As to the type of gold I want to own, that would be Maples, AGEs, and recently some Britannias. About 3/4 of my gold stack is in 1-oz. coins and 1/4 is in 1/2 oz. and 1/4 oz. coins. These percentages are in gold weight and not in number of coins. I don't own any 1/10 oz. gold coins, due to the excessive premiums charged per oz. on them. I want to be able to cash in just the amount I need to sell to cover living expenses in retirement and no more than that. This will be valuable during a time of rapid inflation, since the gold not cashed in will be allowed to remain in gold and not in extra cash that is quickly depreciating. If I don't need to sell the gold, then it will go to my heirs as a bonus.
Great video! Hoping to secure my first 1/4 oz gold American Eagle soon. Little by little (small budget for gold) I'll reach my goal of 1 oz. Currently I have one (1) 1907 Gold Rooster I acquired many years ago.
I started stacking fractional gold last year. Going with gram bars and gradually going to buy 1/10th oz. I keep the big bullion in my bullion account so no need to hold oz in my stack
I am just curious if you ever thought of stacking Fr.20 roosters or other European gold it is all the lowest premium for gold and it takes around five of them to equal close to an ounce. However it seems to me it’s the biggest bang for your buck, what do you think?
you get what you pay for. since you can buy it for less, it follows you have to sell it for less. what do you think? is that really bang for your buck?
No gold for me yet. I bought all the libertads that I wanted for 2023 47 1/2 ounces. I didn't buy any 1/10 or 1/20 ounce coins. Started buying cacg slabbed morgan and peace dollars. All 6 coins graded 70 and a couple of W proof ASE for a total of 9 so far all 2023 dated. I also started buying W proof and business first strike Trump label red white and blue and flag core 70 graded pcgs from Pinehurst coins. I want a 10 coin set for 2023 and 10 for 2024. This will keep me busy for a while.
I would but fractional but the premiums are way too high, no less than half oz for me and i mostly have 1oz gold maples, and other 1 oz gold coins and bars.
I was in same situtation get 3 one oz's last year or 12 1/4oz i went with the 1/4 i look forward to them every month as opposed to a 1oz every 4 months and even with 12 they are all different so a good mix of coins to look at
Outside the premium, I think there's a lot to be said for fractional gold. If it's ever worth $3K-$4K per ounce, the fractional will be much easier to leverage. I've been lucky at coin shows and able to get the quarter ounce sizes, and US commemoratives, for about a 2% premium, even less sometimes. Two months back I got a .24 ounce gold US commemorative for $6 over spot. No turning that down IMO.
Thata qhat Im doing I got 10 1/10. 4 1/4 . Starting on My Halves next but I really want 1 Buffalo. But overall Im a Silver Stacker pre ordered My 2024 tube today of American Eagles
Is good to have fractional. The way I see it is if you carry cash, having a 100th dollar bill and if you need to buy something that's $10 or $5, and can't get change. Or the person dont want to accept the $100. Same thing with gold, if what you're getting is cover by the 1/10oz then why use a 1oz.
Good show! I need to pay off a card balance before I start stacking gold, but after I do then I plan to get a 1/4oz gold eagle every month. If I really want to buy gold and I don't have enough cash for a 1/4, then I'll buy a 1/10oz. I also wanna get some 1/2oz eagles too, but my main focus will the be 1/4oz eagle.
I dont get it. If you don't have the cash for a 1/4, how can you have the cash for the high premium on a 1/10? Do you need to rethink this? If you really want to buy gold, is it not better to develop patience and fortitude to wait untill you can afford a lower premium ounce? are you putting on a bad show for the new guys?
@@DrSchor I didn't say that... What I said was if I don't have the cash for a 1/4oz then I might buy a 1/10oz if I have a real buying itch. That's me, I don't give a damn about what others are buying and if I wait too long then I'll just spend my money on something non-monetary that'll get thrown out later, because I've had a spending problem for many years.
is it not better to control your spending problem like a real man? show some grit , for your own sake , don't you think that is a better way to go? is there a difference between wasting money on a spending habit compared to wasting money on a high premium. They are both just wasting your own hard earned money. @@dukenukemani07
Id love to have some more fractiobal, maybe 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz but im not going to pay the 200-500 more (per oz) that the premiuns add up to. 21-2200 for an oz, 24-2600+ per oz when buying fractionals. Nope. If thats the only way you can afford gold at this particular time then go for it. Just not for me. I buy silver every week.
I have very limited budget per month maximum 300 euros, for now i have only 1/10 ounce Brittania and half sovereigns. Lately i discovered The Roosters 10 Francs and 20 Francs. I want you oppinions on Roosters do they worth buying them since they are 20 carats gold and if in 15 years from now will pay back.Thank you my friend i liked your video!!!
My goal is to get either a fractional gold Britannia, Tudor Beast and Kangaroo every check. I like the fractional maples but the premiums are much higher than Royal Mint or Perth Mint coins. 1/4 Eagle premiums are way too high and I strongly prefer 9999. I don't understand why Americans are so averse to foreign coins when they are often of much higher quality and beauty.
It's a large country that's an ocean away from most foreign gold. Maples and Libertads are the only "local" foreign gold, and for people living in the middle of the country, Canada and Mexico can still be over 1,000 miles away. In such a situation, it's easy to feel isolated and protectionist against foreign countries and their coinage.
@@DanCooper404 I guess but it seems incredibly illogical to pay a much higher premium for 1/4 eagles. It's a bad idea to stack exclusively in one coin and especially one that's not 9999. That might not seem important but if you have to leave the US with your bullion then you are in bad shape because many countries will tax you for not bringing in 9999 gold. Every online retailer provides plenty of consumer choice, so even if you're stuck in Wichita there's no reason to be wedded to US Mint products.
@@rustyshackleford2719 I think about liquidity here in the States. It is always easiest to sell the coin of the realm. Some local shops (depending where you are) will also pay less than spot for a foreign coin. It's ridiculous that the US mint does not make fractional 24k coins, so we are stuck with the 22k eagle. Some people love them. I don't personally, so I also add fractional foreign 24k coins that I love so I can enjoy stacking...probably 75% US and 25% foreign. The US mint is behind the times IMO, and they do overcharge with premiums.
I like the 1/4 oz mostly. But the 1/10 are a lot easier on the silver stacking budget. I remember buying 10 gram Pamp bars for under $100 in 2000-2001. Crazy
@@floridastacker I really wish they would mint fractional Buffaloes again (at a reasonable price). I prefer 24 Karat gold but have to buy 22 Karat Eagles if I want US fractional.
I lean towards Pre 33 gold and I'm planning on buying a $3.00 piece. Then, after that I'll be buying one tenth ounce Eagle, Maple leaf, and maybe Brittania
Just like silver, I look for deals and am always looking for gold. I just picked up a tenth oz eagle last week. My goal is my first 1 oz buffalo to add to my gold maples and bars. And I'll keep selling my bodily fluids (plasma) for an average of $500 a month to keep stacking!
Just watching the price of gold at the current moment. Definitely good to have a mix of the various sizes. Will see what buying opportunities come up in 2024.
I’ve just recently started stacking 1/10 oz Gold Eagles, , 4 so far, And I’m enjoying it . Best price I’ve found so far, Is from Walmart believe it or not, they come from bullion exchange.
I get fractionala here and there but i stick with ounces as my main. I like the Royal Mint stuff bc their premiums are so much better than US Mint stuff. And aesthetically, i think they are the most beautiful.
If you can swing the 1oz bar or coin, that's the best bet! My dealer had 1 oz Gold bars for $20 over yesterday. Hard to beat a $20 premium on a $2000 dollar item.

Agreed, which is exactly the reason I stopped taking advise from TH-camrs; in the long run, I only end up with a jumbled collection of stocks and bonds. Whereas all I needed to earn over $350k in less than three years was guidance from a true market strategist.

I feel the libertad will be worth more in the long run even though it’s almost 3 grams less, hard decision it’s my next purchase tomorrow. Most would say more for the money but libertads are limited strike and it’s a proof. I’m afraid if I pass it up I’ll regret it.
The spread is just too much on fractional. Would rather save for the 1oz coins. I say this because I experienced selling back fractional gold to my LCS and it was a pretty rough deal, even at slightly above spot. To each their own though!

Absolutely it does. Definitely stack what fits your budget and life - never over stack, just leads to selling at a loss to recoup some cash. Great idea for your daughter, very thoughtful of you to do that for her. Wishing you the best.
Wrong. Slow always loses. Wrong. Who is not on a fixed income? Wrong. Why disrespect your parents because they did not give you gold? Wrong. What are you going to give your child that is worth more than gold?
I buy one 1/4 oz eagle every month. And when I finish a big job (I’m a contractor) I try to pick up a 1/2oz eagle. That may happen about 2-4 times a year.
There are some differences when buying for an IRA or other tax sheltered account. Each state has its own tax laws for state tax on foreign and us bullion/coins, but there is no IRS requirement to report selling a $500 dollar quarter ounce maple or other foreign coin over a US Eagle
Here's the thing I realized that caused me to switch to stacking fractional gold bullion almost exclusively over silver: The premiums for fractional gold, though higher than they are for full ounce gold, are still typically lower than the premiums you will have to pay for silver bullion one ounce coins.

10 oz is my aim for this year
Keep working hard towards this!
Just got my 1st British sovereign , fractional is the easiest to stack on a teachers salary in the Czech Rep., great video.
Starting the year with a full ounce gold, then I’ll move onto my usual weekly silver buys. Every other week I will buy frac gold or frac platinum, rotating these. 123 goooooo
I like it. Best of luck with your goals this year.
Solid plan as i was thinking that way aswell 😊 great minds and all that
Nice pickup and a good looking stack! Ill be focusing more so on gold this year. 1 oz when I can and 1/4 oz for the most part!
Buying a sovereign every month. Not going to 1/10ths as I find them so small. Other fractional gold will be 5g bars if they are at a good price
Always a good watch for your channel... Happy 2024
Brilliant and great progress at 26! Good luck!
I really like the 1/2 oz size and plan to buy several this year
Me too. I have always wondered why they are so unpopular.
That's most of what I stack each year too!
I'm going with AU 1/10 and a roll of US constitutional AG when I putchase this year. A year's stack would be 1.2 ozt AU and 86 ozt AG.
Thats amazing on your strategy for stacking fractional coins ..🎉🎉🎉
Yep asked for Saturday off to head to the fun show
I hold 4 gold stocks in addition to physical silver at the moment in my portfolio
I'm only stacking gold 🥇 from here on out silver is very heavy and hard to store.
Diamonds are light and easy to store, with your plan, why not buy those?
@@DrSchor Not interested in them.
My favorite coins are
high quality 1880s-1890s Morgans, 1964 Kennedy halves, and the early to mid 2000s proof statehood quarters.
We had the GSR drop to about 32:1 back in 2011 but my silver stack was small then since I'd only been stacking for a bit over a year at that time and wasn't into gold. In late 2013,
the price of gold was down significantly from its 2011 highs, so I started stacking gold as well. In 2019, I met my silver stacking goal, so stopped buying silver unless something
really nice came along at a decent price. Back in 2021, it did via a good friend of mine selling me AU class Morgans from a large amount of Morgans he'd just purchased from his
dealer. He brought 200 of them to a meeting we'd scheduled, and I picked out 85 of them to add to my stack. The good news there was that he was selling these at the same price
as the online dealers were charging for Morgan culls, so it was definitely a win-win in terms of coin price and quality. Since he bought these in bulk, probably in $1,000 face bags,
I'm sure he made a profit on this deal.
I don't own any 1/10 oz. gold coins, due to the excessive premiums charged per oz. on them. I want to be able to
cash in just the amount I need to sell to cover living expenses in retirement and no more than that. This will be valuable during a time of rapid inflation, since the gold not cashed in
will be allowed to remain in gold and not in extra cash that is quickly depreciating. If I don't need to sell the gold, then it will go to my heirs as a bonus.
@@edb3877 cool 😎 thanks for all of that chalk full of information. I appreciate it
Great video! Hoping to secure my first 1/4 oz gold American Eagle soon. Little by little (small budget for gold) I'll reach my goal of 1 oz. Currently I have one (1) 1907 Gold Rooster I acquired many years ago.
Gorgeous. Congratulations. 🎉
Thank you. It's a nice coin and I was happy to add it to my little frac. stack! Ever forward!
I much prefer to buy one ounce Canadian gold maples. Also Canadian silver maples.
Just a guess you wouldtnt happen to be from canada 🇨🇦 😂
I recently started collecting 1/10 oz gold coins. I'm up to 11 of them. I do have a couple 1/4 oz but I'm really liking the pace of adding 1/10.
It's a more manageable way to consistently save. Thanks for sharing!
All I stack is gold FRAC...STACK THE FRAC is my motto!!!
Good motto 😂
I started stacking fractional gold last year. Going with gram bars and gradually going to buy 1/10th oz. I keep the big bullion in my bullion account so no need to hold oz in my stack
Yep I’m stacking frac gold in 2024 as well . Good stuff bro . Keep stacking bro
Still saving via OneGold until I have enough for the one ouncers. Snagged three last year and shooting for four in '24.
Are 1 ounce coins difficult to leverage now that gold is at $2000? No, and it won't be any different if and when gold hits $4000.
Fantastic haul there!
Happy New Year ! Keep plugging away at your goals. 👍
Spot on the premiums for eagles are higher i got a 1/4 kangaroo today €60 cheaper end of the day 1/4 is a 1/4 gold is gold
Awesome video. Just picked up two 1/4 ounce eagles to start the new year off.
I dont get it. Would not 1/2 ounce cost less? Please explain strategy.
I cant wait to start stacking gold. Gotta build up a solid silver foundation first
I stacked mostly 1oz Gold, because it has the least premium. But I will pick up fractional when the premium is low.
When is the premium on fractional ever low? Help out the new guys with your secret.
That's all I stack for gold, usually 1/4 sovereign coins but sometimes 10 gram bars and 1/10 ounce sovereign coins.
Then, after that I'll be buying one tenth ounce Eagle, Maple leaf, and maybe Brittania
atleast 1 oz of gold each month... Hopefully a full tube each year from this moment forward
Just like silver, I look for deals and am always looking for gold. I just picked up a tenth oz eagle last week. My goal is my first 1 oz buffalo to add to my gold maples and bars.
And I'll keep selling my bodily fluids (plasma) for an average of $500 a month to keep stacking!
how much does a sperm bank pay?
And also bough 2 1/10 gold pear harbor coins for the same 14% over the melt price.
Just watching the price of gold at the current moment. Definitely good to have a mix of the various sizes. Will see what buying opportunities come up in 2024.
I bought same maple at same time lol. Stackin cash for now until i see where 2024 is going! Already getting that itch watching this video (:

I wanna get at least an oz each of 1/10, 1/4 and 1/2 this year of the gold eagle

Would you take a 10 gram pamp bar? Or 1/4 ounce proof libertad for the same price. I feel the libertad will be worth more in the long run even though it’s almost 3 grams less, hard decision it’s my next purchase tomorrow. Most would say more for the money but libertads are limited strike and it’s a proof. I’m afraid if I pass it up I’ll regret it.
Plan to look to fractional this year. Time will tell...
Best of luck, Dave! I hope you come into some new income to help you reach your goal
The spread is just too much on fractional. Would rather save for the 1oz coins. I say this because I experienced selling back fractional gold to my LCS and it was a pretty rough deal, even at slightly above spot. To each their own though!

Doesn’t the Sale, by a stacker, of Maple Leafs, any foreign gold, mean having to report to IRS when selling less than you would if selling eagles?
There are some differences when buying for an IRA or other tax sheltered account. Each state has its own tax laws for state tax on foreign and us bullion/coins, but there is no IRS requirement to report selling a $500 dollar quarter ounce maple or other foreign coin over a US Eagle
Only a sale of 25 oz more at one time....
