Of the tri-fives, the1956 is my favorite! Simple dash, but it works. I love it. Love the way it looks when you guys were driving. A very nice example of a low priced field car that has really stood the test of time. Anyone would love to have it.
I have real appreciation for the '56 Chevy despite the fact the '55 and '57 seem to get all the attention. This gem has an awesome color schems and is a great driver. Really nice guys, thanks for this feature today.

My parents had a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air when I was growing up as a child. In the 1950s car manufacturers were really good at making stylish beautiful cars back then.
Whenever I see a nice looking 1956 Chevrolet it brings back childhood memories of the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air that my parents had. At the time that my parents purchased the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air my parents were the 1950s young married couple with 4 young children. The family was living in the state of Ohio and had to soon move to California. As a result the only option this car was very basic and had only the optional heater defroster. This Chevrolet had the inline 6 cylinder engine, the three speed column shift transmission and was a very basic two door 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. Also my father did all the maintenance on this car. He even one time replaced the clutch by jacking the car up and removing the transmission.
Hell of a restoration. While I was born in the 1950s, I was certainly familiar with the love and passion for these mid 50s Chevys. Many guys were interested in these cars only, that’s all. And I get it. I’m afraid many of them are in the old folks home or the graveyard…..(but not all)
Hi Scott, Happy to read you appreciate the work to complete this car :-) Good news! Hopefully being on TH-cam will convince a few young people to see how beautiful the cars were and MAYBE get a few of them interested in cars like this too? Lou
Nice! I've always admired the Post Cars, and this one with its two tone paint & all the chrome looks fantastic glistening in the AZ sun. And what an interesting detail about the traffic light viewer/prism. What a great car! Thanks, Lou!
How stunning is that!? Beautiful car! We are so spoiled with Lou's channel to be able to visit with such classic Detroit Iron from all eras of the automotive history. Love the colors and the pattern of the two-tone. Thanks for sharing, Lou!
What a beautiful car! This car brings back memories, when I lived in Greensburg, Pa, our neighbor had a 56 like this in this color combo. It was a 4 door though. This was in the mid-sixties, and I was not even a teenager yet. It was my neighbor's baby!
Hi Jeff, "Incredibly clean and fresh." That's exactly what I thought when I first saw this car. I was glad we're able to share this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
Lou, my first car was a well-used, hi-mileage '56 Chevy pretty much the same as this one. My parents paid $250 for it back in 1969. That car NEVER, EVER looked anything close to this good!! My Dad and I tried to rebuild the engine in our garage and things didn't work out too well. It eventually got towed to a shop that were able to do a proper rebuild. Seeing this gorgeously restored '56 makes me wanna get another 55-57 as they were ALL awesome cars!!
In the 1960s my neighbour in East Vancouver (Trout Lake area) had a 1958 Pontiac or Chevy wagon??? that was a similar copper colour like this one! The car was kept IMMACULATE by the owner Bill S. on E. 22nd ave/Penticton st. He used to drive us kids to lacrosse games/practices.
My opinion (maybe not the most popular) The 1956 is my Favorite Tri-Five. I found an original owner California Bel-Air 2dr HT...Turq/Ivory...265 when I was in HS and my Brother in Law bought it..let me drive it often...then my Best friend in Maine (where I went in the Summer) had his first car, a Bel-Air 2dr HT...Maroon/Ivory also....327 4 speed. Thanks Gary and Lou.
Had the exact same car in the late 1970's except mine was Pinecrest green with the darker Sherwood green metallic on the roof, trunk, and side spear. It did have the power pack 4bl 265 rated at 180hp. Only kept it a few years, never got used to the green. Love the colors on this one, my neighbor had a 56 Nomad in Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige, gorgeous car.
This is just like HEAVEN AND PURE EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL REAL REAR FINDING A BEAUTIFUL UNTOUCHED ORIGINAL CLASSIC 56 CHEVROLET BELAIR THESE ARE GOING FOR THE PRICE OF $97 000.00. THIS IS THE BEST OF ALL AND EXTREMELY REALLY REAL REAR YOU ARE A LUCKY MAN

56 was always my favorite year of the Tri five Chevys probably because I have one. Hope mine looks that good someday it's all in primer right now and the restoration is still a work in progress. You don't see those traffic light viewers on the dash very often guess they were a rare option. Don't see many in that color combo either.
56 Belair, my neighbor owned one. In the fall of 58, she drove hers son, my mom, and me to school to a meet and greet with the Kindergarten teacher as the two of us boys were going to start going to school. My uncle also had one. He traded it in on a 58 Ford. Like the Fords you have been shoeing from the 50s, I have only seen the extra bumper parts on the videos and never actually saw a car with them.
The 56 set sales records. The 55 car and v8 were new people were a little apprehensive. The 57 was desirable but there was a big strike that year and they were hard to get I had an uncle that came home with a yellow one they told him sir if you don't want it please step aside. Another older man I knew wanted a 4 door sedan with a 6 cylinder the only thing they had in a 4 door sedan had the biggest v8 with standard transmission his son in high school loved it. Personally the 56 is my favorite.
@@loucostabile , a trip to The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village is worth it. They also run tours of the Ford Rouge Plant, which dates back to 1917.
The 1956 Chevy Bel Air is the only Chevrolet I liked. A friend inherited his Great Grandfathre's 1956 Chevy Bel Air 4-door Hardtop with Power windows and Seat. The car is in this same color combination.
Another thing that automobile manufacturers did in the 1950s that they do not do today is in the same generation of a car from one model year to the next they made many little changes that made the car look like a whole new model. The example is the the 1955 Chevrolet and 1956 Chevrolet had a number of cosmetic and visual changes that made them look like different cars. Then for the 1957 model year Chevrolet did even more changes.
When did a two door sedan become a two door post? I was born in 1946 and I never ever called a two door sedan a two door post. However it is" post" World War 2 though 😂😂😂😂😂

Yup, cars had character and STYLE back then! Now, most of the vehicles look the same and have ZERO chrome!
