I’d like to know on a per unit basis what the pro shop makes on equipment i.e. how much margin does a typical pro shop make on rackets and equipment. I’d also like to hear how much better the quality control on Yonex is vs. Wilson or Head. These are just opinions, data would be much more useful. For example take 5 WIlson rackets and weigh them and do the same for Yonex and see what the difference is. Yonex doesn’t get enough credit for the quality control and Wilson gets away with all sorts of bad inconsistencies because of their marketing
Yonex prices are actually on par with Wilson, Head and Babolat sticks up here in Canada🇨🇦. Babolat charges you even more to get your rackets evenly matched🤦🏻♂️, weight wise (i.e. Pure Aero VS with their 1-2gram difference) for $300 a stick 😬
Really though their string isn't all that much more expensive than the competition, considering it retains its tension longer thanks them pre-stretching it over a flame. Solinco Hyper G for example is about $12. Yonex Polytour Pro is $16. Not a big deal.
7:19 - their overgrip last longer than the Wilson pro overgrip. Agree with your point about their poly strings - they are very underrated. Poly tour pro durability is awesome.
Love my Yonex sticks 💯. Love the fact that they still make their top of the line products from their own factory in Japan while other brands sublet their work🤦🏻♂️.
I was looking to upgrade from the pure drive team to the actual pure drive, but I also demoed the pure strike and the yonex v core just for fun. I absolutely loved the v core 100 I got it instead, it's a great racquet. (The red one.)
Got a new EZONE 100. Says 4 3/8ths but its 4 1/2ths. It worked out I like the bigger grip. But be aware of that when you buy their racquets. Great sweetspot and flex at impact. Not stiff at all. Most expensive racquet I bought though.
"Main strength is their racquets" pretty much sums up everything in tennis to put them above the rest. This coming from a fan of Wilson and Head's old school sticks:)
Love Yonex. Oozes quality, I have a reel of the Poly Tour Air, Nice and soft yet no one talks about it or reviews it but its a very good string just always overlooked. I personally demoed a Speed S and a V Core 100. Liked the Yonex better. Going to order one, just not sure on a 98 or 100. BTW I'm also a lefty
What about poly tour spin g?
Thanks for video, BUT i have one queston, what is that moan on 4:20? :D
That came from the cupboard over there 👉😧
Well explained, thanks
Yonex has the best QC compared to Wilson and Babolat.
Love my Ezone 98s
Back in the 1970s and 80s, Yonex was really known for their badminton equipment. Probably still are.
Oh yeah. Definitely still are #1 in badminton. Victor and Li-Ning are the closest competitors. A lot of people don't know this, but the grips, bags, and essentially the clothing are dual use for badminton or tennis. They also do golf, and in their Tokyo showroom you'll even find snowboards and a road bike (bicycle).
@Alan Kakinami Hi Master Alan! =D
I always called them Yonex (yo like yo homie) and then I got a job in the industry and all my colleagues pronounce it like Yahnex. So I doubted myself. Then I saw TW's Yonex Brandography video and Yonex themselves pronounce it like me. So turns out I was right and most other people are wrong.
You said Babolat make the best bags.
He just says whatever they pay him to say
Natural Gut mains with Poly Tour Pro (PTP) crosses anyone?
The Rexis on the mains ... you'll be suprise how well the feel n ball pocketing.
I tried it, nice setup. Ptp died before the gut broke for me
007 Z I mean that ptp goes dead and looses its feel before the gut breaks. Gut plays great till it breaks. I’m back to full poly these days.
Doesn’t work, YPTP is too soft and dies way too fast.
Yonex are the Best Quality products .
I love Yonex shoes
You literally forgot the v core. The regular v core
@007 Z My bad, I didnt know. I use the red V-Core 100
Besides the Yonex racquet, the agility, skill, footwork and quick reflex makes a great player
oh i love yonex rexis multifilament
Nobody has them in Europe:))
Yonex Ezone 98 Tour > *
I’ve been playing with dr 98s but bought the ezone tour based on Spin’s recommendation. It took some time to get used to the heft but starting to like it too.
kdoublec I bought the Ezone 98 Tour, loved it, bought a second stick one week later.
They change their models too quickly. Every two years.
Super Grap not Crap. 😂😂
Swithed from a Wilson Pro Staff 97 to Ezone 100 and have never looked back. Much more power and the control is good. The quality of Yonex is superb.
Yonex Vcore SI 98 someone?
Please stop throwing those racquets down with a crash , bang wallop . I cringe every time I watch him do it ! 🤯
Not made in China is a good thing!
