      I had the opportunity to see a Psychotherapist a few times a couple of years ago. I reckon I was struggling with some existential issues. At our last meeting she said to me: having listened to you I find that you are a person with distinct values. Just go on and let them guide you and you'll be fine! I wish I had written down her exact wording, but I was blown away in spite of that being a seemingly self evident message. It felt almost like a revelation. I reckon she could also have said: Keep being athentic.

      It's essentially good you feel small in this world. Feeling small in this world means you're not attached to it, it has a lesser value for you. If it has a lesser value for you then something higher has the greater value and that's better than having the egotistical 'bigness' in this world. xx God bless.

      What do you think about when not thinking other peoples thoughts?
      When you are not thinking about responding to work, family, friends or the myriad of other daily matters that require your attention? What are your own thoughts?

But in my opinion we can "pay attention" with our other senses also. That of course includes hearing, touch, taste, smell, and other senses such as intuition, dreams, visions, esp, etc. not acknowledged by science.

    Gerald Gardner no doubt believed that he was being authentic when he started the relatively new religion known as Wicca.
    From the book ... Witchcraft Today … author ... Gerald B. Gardner.
    The Wiccan Future: A Campus Viewpoint by Tara Nelsen
    I was recently invited to speak about Wicca and Paganism at a local high school class on ethics and religious diversity. This town is a small community, deep in the Bible Belt. The class was created in response to a community-wide controversy surrounding the posting of the Ten Commandments inside the public school. I felt it was an opportunity to tell local youth the truth about Paganism and to express the fact that there are many different religious beliefs held in their own community.
    “How many of you had heard of Wicca or Paganism before taking this class?” I watched in amazement as more than half the class raised their hands. It wasn’t like this when I started on my path. This particular community was not only predominantly Christian but very fundamentalist and right-wing beliefs. These students were raised to be very closed-minded and had less than average exposure to the diversity of the world. That was my presumption. Over the years, something has changed.

    6:40 - The problem here is that most people don't really just want to "clean up the world." What they want is to be REVERED AND LAUDED FOR CLEANING UP THE WORLD. They want public attention - they want to be put on a pedestal. Focusing on their own existential space won't get that for them - it won't make them feel important and "special" enough. People want ATTENTION. I honestly think it's the sole way many young people today assess their self-worth.

    I admire Jordan Peterson. I can’t help but be reminded of the great Sean Connery when I look at him. But when I hear people (especially men) say he’s the dad they were missing in their life, I honestly cringe. I know they mean it as a figure of speech. You can admire the man. You can be creatively or intellectually inspired by him. But such worship can be dangerous considering that you probably don’t know him personally nor have you met him. He’s not a role model. He’s a talented man with perspective and a vision. The REAL role models in your life are your family, your friends, and, believe it or not, yourself. You have to take complete ownership of yourself in order to achieve the fulfillment that you so desire. Be authentic. Be original. This is one of the tenets of Mr. Peterson’s philosophy and message.

    "You may not know what constitutes truth at any given moment but its quite a different matter to determine what's false." Without a pre-supposed standard of truth you could not know what is false. Also stating that we cant ultimately know truth because of ignorance underlying our claims...this in itself is a truth claim which is fallacious. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all knowledge, Gods exists and we all presuppose him to make truth claims. He has ultimate knowledge and reveals things to us so we can know them for certain, revelational epidemiology. Turn to Christ

    Solzhenitsyn didn't bring down USSR, most people have never heard of him until USSR was already in a free fall. Also he went nuts after return to Russia and activated an ultimate modern totalitarian Russian state loving mode. Sad. KGB tried to kill him, he fall in love with neo-KGB state.

      mrragamuffin how do u explain his Nobel price for peace? What led to it?

      @mrragamuffin 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL. You didn't even bother to read wiki:
      "Solzhenitsyn was awarded the 1970 Nobel Prize in Literature "for the ethical force with which he has pursued the indispensable traditions of Russian literature"

    • @Ibrahim-ku8cb
      @Ibrahim-ku8cb 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      mrragamuffin ...and you read it but got the meaning twisted. What does “ethical force “ in the sentence refer to?
      ...yeah, maybe it’s prize for peace and not literature, thanks for that; but the point remains the same. It’s for his work on exposing the evil of communist Russia

      @@Ibrahim-ku8cb Sorry, I don't have time for you. I lived in USSR and if you ask anyone with the same experience whether Solzhenitsyn had any impact on fate of USSR, they will just laugh.

      mrragamuffin now, that’s a different thing entirely- which I’m not qualified to argue. But the discussion had been about for what reason he was awarded. One more thing, the argument here is how his work affected perceptions of the world outside USSR. Before Solzhenitsyn’s “Gulag” no one outside of Russia knew the implications or severity or the reality of the camps. It was Solzhenitsyn that created that awareness. I understand u don’t have time for this. Cheers!

      @@mgal6234 referring to the mysogenic hate moger. Anyone who is an educator that willingly promotes hypermasculinity and denounces gender identity as illness needs to be called out for such demonstrable behaviors. It's dangeous to give him a platform. At least in most academic circles he's dismissed because most of what he teaches is completely unbacked nonpeer reviewed theories. There are much better educators out there teaching what he is failing to bestow to his audience. He's literally the same as Tony Robbins except Robbins doesn't try to brainwash students at colleges and only does to adults through their tv ads.

      Matt Mariani I respect your opinion, but I honestly have never heard JP denounce gender identity issues as illness. I think so much of what he says is taken out of context. Do you have a link or any info where I can find him saying that trans people are ill? I am truly not trying to be argumentative, just trying to understand where you’re coming from. I don’t at all find him to be misogynistic; in fact, I find that he empowers me as a female. And I also happen to be bisexual.

      @@mgal6234 he creates the feeling of inspiration by manipulative language rather than principled concepts. I agree that some of what he says is taken out of context. There is a reason why he's such a controversial character though, he prays on individuals seeking answers to personal turmoil. He validates their feelings and offers ideas that are boiled down to a simple statement which misrepresents said concept. There's many examples of his horrid believe system on TH-cam if you search. I'd advise you watch the Joe rogan interview he did in it's entirety. I cannot change your mind but watch with an open mind being aware of most academics denouncing him. He doesn't understand the fundamentals of mental health and its obnoxiously obvious in that interview he has no basis for what he believes outside of how he feels from his myopic bubble. He's a modern day Freud in his delivery and substance. He's a great character for delivery and I believe that he wants to do good although his naivety of his position is very dangerous because of the fragile minds he's molding. I hope you continue educating yourself and finding new individuals to inspire you. There's a lot of great teachers out there. Im not saying dismiss him entirely but be aware that he is no where near deserving of the credibility his fan base gives him.

      Matt Mariani I have watched pretty much every single thing JP has done. I am a female, I was sexually abused as a kid, and I am bi sexual. I am also quite educated, if I may say so. For the life of me I cannot understand your viewpoint, nor the viewpoints of those saying he is a “Nazi,” (I am also half Jew), but I do respect it. Be well. Have a wonderful New Years as well!

    The fact that you only know who this dood is, is because he overreacted to his own misunderstanding of a new law, disqualifies him from being any sort of authority on authenticity. And your inability to exercise any amount of critical thought disqualifies you from determining who an authority on authenticity is.
