HIKING MALAYSIA'S G7: YONG BELAR - FIRST EVER DNF ON A MOUNTAIN!

- Yong Belar is the third highest mountain in peninsular Malaysia standing at 2,181m. Located in the Titiwangsa Range north of Kuala Lumpur, it stands just six meters below the tallest peak Gunung Dahan, and two meters below nearby Gunung Korbu. These three make up 1-3 of Peninsular Malaysia's G7 tallest peaks.

Last year Oct 2002, I (52Y) did YB in 12H with 1H30M rest at peak becoz waiting for lineup. Start 5am to 5pm. If anybody want to do dayhike hiking YB I suggest they try Mount Nuang via Pongsun, Selangor and Mount Liang, Perak. Good luck.

i had hipotermia hiking the mountain last february. started hike at 5 am. managed to arrived at the summit but it was the most tiring experience ever. we supposed to finish the trans Yong Belar 3 Boundaries, but after reached the summit, we just turned back. Reached the trail head around 7 pm. around 14 hours dayhike.
