Because of how absolutely unprepared I was for this weather and the fact that my van is 2wd, I was actually stuck in this snow and couldn't leave for 4 days. Which was a little stressful for me and I started to go a little crazy as you can see but I think I made the best of it. What do you guys think? Should I make more videos like this?

I'm so sorry, Tyler! It's so hard to lose a parent, especially when you're young. I'm so glad that you have these videos to watch together. I love watching with my children too. I'm a mother of 4 and grandmother of 11. My daughter lost her dad when she was 8 yrs old and it was devastating for all of us. She made it through, but it was really hard for the first couple of years. Keep watching these videos, it will help you heal and feel closer to her. My heart sincerely goes out to you. My parents are now gone too, I promise that with time it will get better.

This snow was brutal! I was trying to get stuff before going back to college and I literally go stuck going up my driveway (which is admittedly long). The snow the mountains got was no joke.

I had I Staffordshire bull terrier that passed away 3 years ago. Such a lovely dog. Still miss her a lot. Now I have a Boxer Cane Corso mix and she is a real clown but so sweet! Dogs are life man! How often were you able to run your diesel heater? Did your van hold the heat well? This vid was awesome!
I could run it all day long if I wanted to. It doesn't really pull much power or use much diesel. But I didn't use it much just in case I was stuck for longer than a few days. So anytime I was filming, I made sure it was off. Not just to conserve on resources but also for audio issues because it's a little noisy.
But honestly, I wouldn't have been able to do this without the heater. It was such a life saver when the temperature dropped at night. It keeps the van nice and toasty.
@@TrentTheTraveler One thing I've seen vanlifers worry about is the bottom of the van filling with snow and the exhaust from the diesel heater has no where to go. Stay safe brother.

So did your solar panels charge you up much after you cleared them off? I saw in one of your other videos that you have a system that makes your alternator charge you up, did you do that at all? Also does the alternator charge you up to the 10+ hours of gaming or is it its own power source?

I love the winter months, something about seeing snow makes me happy. Its snowing here now, if we get plenty of snow i may make a igloo and sleep in it. The worst weather i been in was the 2019 polar vortex (thanks canada really appreciate spreading the love). The temperatures plummeted. In my area it was -30 with 50mph windgusts and windchill hitting -60 is some areas.. the worst part of that day was when someone from florida moved up here.. glad i have spares of blizzard proof gear (he was in florida attire).
My mother was in the blizzard of 1978 in her own words she couldnt leave the house, the snow was up to the roof.
Genuinely wondering, when you cook things that have a stronger smell does it stick around the van for a long time? And in the bedsheets?

I keep my doors open a lot so most of the smelly smells don’t stick around for too long.
