NOODLE Tour SAIGON: Rare Goat Noodles + Mì Vịt Tiềm + A WHOLE Street of Wonton Noodles!!

- NOODLES, NOODLES, NOODLES!!! Nothing like a good ole noodle tour and let me tell you what, Saigon has plenty of them! This is going to be the first of a massive noodle series that I want to bring you all along with me! So I hope you are ready as I get into deep parts of Saigon to look for some of the best and most rare bowls of noodles you have ever seen.
This video starts off with a super rare bowl of goat noodles and this is actually my first time having tried goat in Saigon. It was super tender and flavor packed. Perfectly paired with the Perallia leaf as well. A must eat bowl of noodles.
Next up some Mì Vịt Tiềm or duck noodles! This place really gives you a generous serving of duck and has a delicious chinese medicinal based broth which pairs with the duck beautifully. A little expensive so make sure to bring some extra cash.
Lastly and partly due to a location which I wanted to go being closed, I went for some wonton noodles. Now, deep in Saigon, there is a whole street that is dedicated to wanton noodles and it absolutely lights up at night with locals hungry for some delicious food and cold drinks!

Excellent video as always. I enjoyed every minute of your video. I know you got a special love with Vietnam, especially Sai Gon's food. I spent 22 years in Sai Gon, wish I could be there to take you to my most favorite food places.
PS: If you want to try best Pho of all time, go to Phở Hùng Lạc Phương 221/11 Võ Văn Tần, Phường 5, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam. I ate there since i was 8 year old and now i'm 28 and the place is still legend.

I think they put dry orange zest + Chinese herb medicine in the broth, boil the duck in the broth, take it out then rub some spice on the duck skin and grill the duck. When they serve noodle (flour + eggs), they will put the duck on the top. You have found so many kinds of noodle dishes beside “Pho”. Lucky man.

All the 3 types of noodle dish look yummy, great noodle tour in Saigon. 👍👍👍 We have duck noodle in Malaysia too, but the soup is clear (not dark colour) and in some places, the herbs in the duck noodle soup is quite mild.
yes they have a non medicinal here as well! I don't think I have had duck noodles in Malaysia now that I think about it.

When the soup is thick, they put some corn flour in the broth to thicken it. They often put corn flour in “Banh Canh”. I have never had noodle with goat meat before.
Them chilli oil, can't forget them chilli oil!!

Max - have you had bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup originated from Hue)? The soup is cooked with beef, polk, lemon grass, shrimp paste, and dried chilli powder so it is flavor pact and tasty. I could eat it everyday.
Another dish that I love is com hen (rice with baby clams) which also originated from Hue. Simple, heathy and tasty. You eat it with shrimp paste sauce so it goes well with a beer.

Man, you make me hungry. I love their Vịt Tiềm, I ate there everytime I went back to Vietnam. If you're a big fan of Noodles, you should go to a town call Lai Thiêu, just about 30 minutes drive from Saigon. There are few stunning good noodles house along Phan Đình Phùn street, Lai Thiêu such as Quảng Châu Noodles or Triều Châu or Hải Kí Mì Gia. If go further north to Bình Dương, there is a really noodle house. Forgot the name but you can ask anyone at Thủ Dầu Một market for Mì Lòng Heo(Intestines noodles) don't sound very appertizing but it is so good.

I will have to pass on the goat meat though, I find the smell too strong for me, however, that is the kind the noodles I like when I make noodles soup. I would like to see you eat tendon noodles though, my favorite of all time. Stay safe & stay sane!
