Super Video !
Fantastic video, great behind the scenes commentary. Awesome vintage game film, especially Keegan's early interviews. What a modest honest hardworking gifted player. Just a class act! Best wishes to K.G. Go Red's...
I met him in the football stadium in Jeddah when he came with SV Hamburg. He was gracious enough to spend more than a few minutes talking to the English football fans who had made their way there and signing autographs.A nice man!
Although I was born a few months after Kevin Keegan left Liverpool he was the first footballer I ever heard of. As soon as I was able to walk my dad had me in the garden kicking a ball around trying to be Kevin Keegan. It would be several years before I could name a second footballer.
Keegan scored the penalty in the 1977 European cup against brussiamuncho gladback Phil Neal didn't play till toshac Tommy Smith and Callerhan joined Swansea
@@SMSJSC All I said was "it was the end for Alun Evans" I never said he was better than Kevin Keegan (they did play together for a short period) I just said "It was the end for him"
I remember 1977 kings of Europe but internet recon Phil Neal didn't get in till Toshack Smith and Callerhan left to join Swansea in 79 taking them to the top of the table in 1983 Keegan scored the penalty of the century in the European cup final of 1977
Another Coutinho, LFC ,shankly gave him everything. He and Toshack were devestating. He left, next season we won the European cup. He won his "balloon" dour. Ironically, coutinho missed out on the following UCL success. That green grass over the fence aint so sweet.
Harsh, He gave his all for Liverpool for 6 seasons and as far as the club was concerned they did ok after he left and so did he although granted he didnt win as many club trophies
The only thing that takes the shine off Keegan's heroics is that he thought that Kenny Burns was going to eat him at Hamburg because he was chewing flesh coloured Bubble Gum in the Tunnel against Notts Forest (true story).

Its almost like Keegan has been airbrushed out of Liverpool history which is such a shame, what a player he was.
I prefer him to Dalglish, always have, not popular, but he was more mobile and European Footballer of the year twice.
Agree, exactly what liverpool needed, without Keegan, others wouldn’t have come

Keegan ist einer der größten Spieler aller Zeiten. Komischer Weise wird er kaum noch erwähnt..
Keegan was a fantastic player and a work horse
Great video... lots of facts and great timeline of events... ⚽️⚽️
I remember being unconsolable as a boy when Keegan left. Little did I realise the King had already arrived.

When Keegan came, sadly it was the end for Alun Evans
Evans was a good player, not a great one. Keegan would go on to become a far better player than Evans ever was.

Wasn’t Alun Evans a big mistake? Well before my time but I’ve seen videos and Evans was a big signing that failed.
