Nah, the elevators in a lot of other stations still work. Certain stations in Pyro are cooked, but usually places like Patch City still work since it doesn't get a lot of traffic. Jack Axton just did a several hour play session, as the eles at A18 and Bajini Point are fine. People have to remember that there are multiple servers per shard now, and SOME servers and object containers are cooked, but not all of them.
They just didn't pay him, don't worry he'll be back with his " I spawn in a bed and look around I open some doors go to my hangar and look at my ship from all angles and keep repeating how the game is beautiful " videos as soon as money is on the account.
@@thepuglas6284 Could mitigate the issue with a moving walkway like in real airports. Give it a healthy speed like the ones in X4 Foundations and it should take about as much time as working elevators would. At least when they stop working, it just becomes floor. Chris Roberts loves realism, it's a wonder he didn't bother with it. Or they could forgo all the needless complexity with the physics and entities. Simplify and disguise the elevators to simply teleporting the players.
The elevator problem sucks but honestly I've never seen the game run so well, even before 4.0.0 (I hope it's not just a consequence of people not doing much by being stuck waiting for elevators tho). What server is everyone playing on? Elevators at seraphim station are good, grimhex is completely broken, I've mostly just been sticking to bounty hunting and the AI has never been better tho the desync can be annoying depending on the server/time of day.
I saw someone somewhere say CIG should just bite the bullet and make elevators into a teleport system and not physical entities and I don’t see any reason to disagree. I’ve had a generally good experience with 4.0.1 having only to deal with (a lot of) broken elevators/transit systems. And to agree with others, we absolutely need more stairs!
I cant play at the moment. Quantum markers make me want to rage so hard. Your mission marker doubles up with the location marker and when you try and pick one it flickers back and forth between then. and 80% of the time the mission marker sends your ship sideways or just doesnt work. Then sometimes I've had it where neither even work
This video is the strangely the most accurate Star Citizen video I’ve seen. 11 min of playing some other game or watching a video on my phone while I’m waiting to play Star Citizen.
5 Years ago I got absolutely hammered in one comment section because I was unhappy with some feature, people screaming that once server meshing will be implemented, we will enter new, beautiful era of Star Citizen. Been reading that since then - "just wait for server meshing". I just wonder what should I wait for now? (apart of Squadron, that´s like the only thing I am actually excited about right now).
To be fair, server meshing isn't done, the implementation has started, those are 2 different things. It's to be expected that this kind of change would break the game quite hard and take time to stabilize, there's only so much you can do in a test setting, LIVE is something else entirely.
Oh I think I love you Olli43. This is the exact thing we should all be doing. Returning to things that we love and that work. It's a really hard truth but I appreciate your video. I've taken a step back from the game for the last 3 months. I love your super over the top enthusiasm to cool games. Maybe it will convince me to return back to Star Citizen, but in all seriousness, this video has made me want to step back into GTA5...
I feel like over the last few weeks, I've been kicked in the jewels every day by CIG. Nothing works as it should. I've been stuck in A18 for days at a time. All servers, no elevators. When you do finally get to your hangar, the personal storage bugs out and leaves you with a mouse cursor stuck on screen and no way to get out except alt f4, which then leaves you shard-locked because the server you are trying to rejoin is now full. If you do by some miracle get out your hangar in a ship, then constant QT drops, lost markers, suddenly clipping through the ship you are in and not allowing you to re-enter it, mirai pulse randomly exploding, missions swapping which one you're tracking everytime you QT and to cap it all off; Coming back to find your starlancer missing-presumed-dead while you were sleeping that then removes everything from your personal hangar and doesn't allow you back in. Two full containers of loot gone to the wind. I've totally lost faith in CIG ability to produce this game. We've had elevators for ten fcking years and they still don't work. I'm done. I can only rage quit a certain number of times before my doctor wants to put me on blood pressure meds. I'm on blood pressure meds. CIG can go and boil in their own piss. £1300 not well spent. They need to put their money where their mouth is, like we've done. This is the year of playability and stability. Just like 2016 was....
the elevators do work. its the buttons and some form of desync or something... was trying to explain this in game chat... be patient, hold f and spam click going up and down between the button and the floating icon! helped many people figure it out last night!! once you get it its easy! game ran smoothly last night other than the elevators
At least, for now, the elevators only don't show up. When I was playing a few years ago they would always show up. The gamble was whether or not it would kill you just by showing up.
I had so many issues today: First all the elevators were broken, then after a long time one finally worked. Then I wanted to spawn my ship, but it just spawned in the ground and I had to wait for an insurance claim. Then I rented a Hull-A because I wanted to do some cargo hauling, but every cargo lift at every destination was bugged and I was not able to deliver cargo. Then I went to Pyro instead to do some Priority missions, but they were bugged too and no enemies would spawn. Then I thought I could get some red cards instead, but as soon as I finally got to a terminal after dying multiple times to other players, the terminal was bugged, so I went to the other station, but it was also bugged. Then I went to the ghost arena to get blue cards but after getting to the terminal it was also bugged. I tried getting blue and red cards again multiple times over the next few hours and on different servers but it was always just bugged. This is just insane. I can live with having small bugs here and there but I literally tried so many different things and everything was broken.
starting watching you back when you had about 100k subs and were making gta v vids before it came out. sick to find out you make star citizen vids right as I am starting to get into the game.
Maybe I’m just really lucky but I have recently started playing again after not playing for about a year. And the game has improved so much for me. QT works, eating works, opening doors work. For me atleast a year ago there was so much more broken. A year ago I could barely complete a mission without something bugging out. Now I have little to no issues. Even the elevator shit. I still have it where the elevator doesn’t show up but have learned a few tricks to get out of that situation. Been loving the game now more than ever. Weird to come back to the game a seeing the people who praised it back then. I don’t know if I missed something but the experience has never been better. And I mean this. Up until recently I honestly hated the game. Looking forward to the future.
I keep forgetting this game is still a thing that not fully released yet, it's somehow the biggest PC game out there but just still so easy to forget lol. I keep saying i'm gonna give it a try anytime i remember the game is out there, but not sure if i want to buy it just yet.
Olli...why are you inverted? 00:36 The work around to that screen is to click on the CANCEL button. 12:19 The elevator button doesn't work because the game hasn't allocated a hanger to you...yet. The work around is to spawn something small, like a hoverbike, then go to the hanger, store the bike and spawn in your ship.
who doesn't play with their mouse inverted? When in 1st person or 3rd person, i play with the Y axis inverted. When Im in cursor mode (like a cursor on the desktop to click on stuff) i have it normal.
Why do ppl need to get in a physical elevator to move to thier hanger. Can they not just teleport with their items down to the hanger like in other games?
i deal with buggy games a lot so i'm used to fighting circumstance and still having a good time (even the bugs sometimes being part of the fun; i can laugh at it with friends). but here i can fully understand the upset. i don't know why they're so committed to keeping elevators around when it's clearly not working out. it would make more sense to enable as many people to be in the sky and engaging with the game as possible instead of prioritizing a certain someone's realism dream. but anyway the gta gameplay was refreshing :)
Idk how but I have had no issues. My FPS has been stable, and not a single crash in about 16 hours of gameplay so far. I've been shuttling people because my elevators work. All of them I've run into have been fine, except for one blank one in NB. Almost every patch is the same situation (except maybe 3.19? there was one patch where the game wouldn't run at all).
oh my god i remember the intro to this vid as i had just watched the tsunami i don't think i got past the intro. i think that was the last time i saw your vids until SC
Transit refactor is coming, but it's complicated. It was penned for 4.0's release but took longer than to make the December release. I don't think the transit refactor is coming in 4.0.2. It will arrive when it arrives.
I think CIG focusing on game stability should be a stronger focus on every update going forward. Ive been playing for a while now and it really stinks we cannot even test the game cause the game is so broken. I love Star Citizen and when I try to bring a friend over to try it something breaks and I know its just a big let down for them and they will probably not want to play it anymore.
I do vaguely remember watching some of your older GTAV videos and when I saw that you were doing SC I was like holy shit I used to watch this guy and it was a great realisation lol
So my experience has been different than a lot of players it seems. I've put a lot hours into Star Citizen this past week and I haven't had issues with elevators, hangars, and missions. I've only noticed lighting and audio issues. Does this make me the chosen one? Or am I just living in a fantasy?
Nah it's just people who have issues are venting their frustrations online, the people having no issues don't feel the need to say so. If the game is frustrating you, maybe it's time to take a break while they sort the issues out, it is an alpha game after all, people seem to forget that fact very quickly and expect everything to work flawlessly all the time.
The more things (games)change the more Olli (thankfully) stays the same. Juicy screen shot and driving on a mountain, indeed you are one of most entertaining content creators. Keep it up. 👍
I’ve been positive about this game for this entire decade until this 4.0.1 atrocity. I just mentally cannot handle that the elevators are broken. The absolute most basic function of the game, one you have to interact with three separate times before you can get in your ship, is completely completely broken.
Biggest problem white star citizen is sadly the TH-camrs. Mostly playing on the test server that have like 1% off the player base meaning servers run fin ish. And that is still only just fine. Live have always had problem that are beyond understanding, they fix one thing and the next patch it's broken again 2 more patches and the first solved problem is back. I'm not saying that it's TH-camrs fault but thay do give star citizen a false image. I love the game but hate it just ass mutch do tho the porley manage development. And also what is ther deal whit releaseing large patches every time before Christmas, to then simpley have the game be completely broken and left to rot Frome game braking bugs. But no staff available to make hotfixes or even acknowledge problems. It has happen som maney years.
I played yesterday, and the only issue i found was weird ship spawn glitch, and anything else was smooth. Don't known why people is having so much hate about the game. Maybe i was lucky who knows
I think we are right to be skeptical of CIG at this point. They've had years to get elevators right. I understand its an alpha but at some point you have to come to the realization that these developers don't value our time. They really need to put some of these playability issues to bed and get persistance solid before they add new content. I hop on every once in a while and know its time to quit when I lose ships to the game being flaky. Elevators should work, trams should work and players shouldn't be losing cargo laden ships due to random instability issues.
i dont think ur overly enthusiastic about star citizen. i think your personality is a nice counter balance and is reasonable . theres a lot of critical channels about star citizen and rightfully so. but i think people watch all of them and bounce around to get a slightly different lense of things although its all been said and done. We're just waiting for Chris Roberts to clean house and save the project. because this project Should work by now.
They've got an elevator fix that detects stuck elevators in 4.0.2, and they’re seeing if it can be ported as a hotfix. Woohoo! I get the "X years in development" anger. But time alone doesn’t guarantee quality. Think of Star Citizen’s development like building an airplane: whether it takes 10 minutes or 10 years, if it’s missing essential parts, it’s not going to fly. Right now, SC is still in that test flight phase, identifying which parts need adjusting to avoid a crash. Even after years, introducing major features like server meshing is going to cause unexpected issues. It’s part of integrating complex systems. Since March 2023, the team has made over 1.1 million commits-about 1,600 changes every day. This includes everything from big features to bug fixes, optimizations, tool updates, automated tests, and backend systems across multiple branches. The work is constant, even if progress isn’t always visible on the surface. I know it’s super frustrating when basic stuff doesn’t work, but every playtest (even when you can't get in) helps move the game closer to the stable product we all want. If it’s too much right now, no shame in stepping back for a bit-it’ll still be there when you’re ready to jump back in.
I think i've seen you in a few comment sections so far and i 100% agree with what you said here and your overall...sort of educative and kind tone? Its always cool to see people talk about this stuff in a friendly way without getting heated, while realistic too Really hoping for all the major tech changes to end somewhat soon so they can focus on refining the rest of the game, but in any case im really patient xD Also the airplane analogy is really cool!
I logged in Friday night and had 20 people stuck in the apartment building on Orison. The elevators would come to the floors but never go to the ground level, it was fun chilling with people talking shit for about 15 minutes but then got old real quick as the joke wore off.
We all knew when 4.0 came out, that it was going to be rough. This is NOT a surprise, nor unexpected. After all this time, I think a couple months to get things smoothed out is not bad. I think by the end of this month we will be pretty happy with the state of things. Hopefully they can roll out future updates without messing up the core functions.
its crazy how broken this game still is. but whats even more crazy is the things that are broken have been broken for YEARS. They need to stop releasing new ships, and fix the old ones. and make all the ships "feature complete" whether or not the gameplay is there for it or not. They need to be finished. Caterpillar still missing the lifts. Carrack still missing the antenna's are a couple that come to mind. Phoenix should probably have a bathroom i would think.
I'm so confused- this is the stablest the gane has ever been for me. It used to take me 30 minutes to get into the game, and now it only takes 1. I used to only get 20 fps and now I get 60. And yet I see everyone else having major problems and game breaking bugs.
Until the likes of yourself / boredgamer / other TH-camrs highlight how poor it is to just get into and play CIG will continue to just sell and not fix as long as some players are able to play. Honestly elevator simulator is just getting boring now. I find myself waiting on 'just the next patch' to get better... and it really doesn't. Make or beak year surely this time.
It must be certain locations or something. I havent been anywhere near ruin station but ive had a relatively flawless experience in the most recent patch today.
I spent way over 30 mins waiting to get into game the when I did I was stuck in my room so then again had to wait again again stuck on a hospital bed then time out error etc etc etc
I bought star citizen like 2 years ago but I need a new mobo and CPU to even play anyways 😢 my b450m and ryzen 5 3600 are lagging behind. I got 32gbs of ram and an rx6600 but even then, my mobo can’t handle the full speeds of them both so even those are being throttled by my mobo. I can get like 30-40fps peak, but I can dip down to unplayable levels.
So embarrassing for CIG. Unless CR sells the franchise to a company that could take this train wreck to the next level, I don’t see it improving nor do I have faith in his current crew and their abilities to properly fix this mess.
By the accent of the NPS you can tell that it was made by Europeans, so if you choose the Europe server instead of USA you will notice that there are fewer bugs, including the elevator problem, I suspect that the Europe server is more up to date since the game is produced there.
still a pre alpha, elevators and bugs, pyro, still waiting on ships bought in 2013, no economy, broken inventory and many more since 2013, bit of a ruff patch ay
Olli, when I mix orange and green I think it looks like vomit. You made the vomit Porsche. Anyway, see any good landing gear lately? I know you’re a feet guy.
Game is Shite. Boycott the game (if you havent been already), blow up RSI and CIG's forums and emails. I personally have been playing on and off for 5 years. 3.17 was awesome and every single other patch is so bad. Have pledged close to 1k and what is there to show? I know a lot of people have pledged much more than me and cant imagine how they feel... Just want to be able to get to my ship man..
The game has become nearly unplayable following the last two hotfix patches, which have not effectively addressed key issues. Problems persist with the elevator, inventory system, and ship recall functions, making the experience frustrating. I will be stop playing this game till basic function in game fixed.
They knowingly released a broken patch in order to sell yet another ship... and yet you keep giving them money. Its a toxic relationship like the pimp and the prostitute....but he loves me...
they need to bring out 4.02? No they need to stop having ship sales, and working on new ships for more ship sales, and put some effort into fixing the fucking bugs, and stop hiding behind the loyalists its been over a decade and this game is always broken.. always, and it gets worse each year, im so sick of hearing shit like "they are inventing new technology" this excuse, that excuse, it all just excuse after ship sale, get off your fucking yachts and play the game chris tell me how fun it is!
When positive content creator starts to be negative about your game you know it's bad

Every Building in life has emergency stairs for when the elevators don’t work. They missed that part!
And actually walkways to your hangar like airports where you have to walk to your gate
The issue is the stairwell/hallway would be kilometers long
So anyone can come into your hangar, imagine when your loading people are running around messing with everything lol

Well... there would probably be more if it actually worked
It's Star Citizen. Even when it works, it doesn't.
Can't bring myself to even try to play anymore
I just uninstalled it. Think I’ll focus more time to other games until they get this sorted out.
Kcd2 is out

been enjoying stalker 2 in the meantime. I don't have time to waste on CIG's bullsht anymore
4.0.1 LIVE in a nutshell is broken elavators and VERY long queue times and load times.
can't even get in an elevator. they all open to space since 4.0.1
Endless loading screen 😢

If the markers overlap, you don't want to be pointing straight at the markers. You need to aim a bit off so it doesn't flicker or anything.
You can just hit F2 and use the search bar or mission panel to navigate to your location and set quantum destination really easily.

It's kinda ironic that almost every video on youtube about Star Citizen has an ad of SC as if it's complete playable product xD

Honestly in the previous update i couldn't play at all but now fire me it's much much better the enemies actually spawn in.
At least you're consistent!
seems every time with a new patch, the elevators are the first to glitch LOL
I played yesterday, and the only issue i found was weird ship spawn glitch, and anything else was smooth. Don't known why people is having so much hate about the game. Maybe i was lucky who knows
15:40 An Artist Can't... Oh, nevermind!
I logged in within 3 min today.
The greatest ever orange is a really good orange color.
8:17 ummmm can we talk about the water?
He does, legit at the start of the video
@TheJuicer97 how did I miss it?
i dont think ur overly enthusiastic about star citizen. i think your personality is a nice counter balance and is reasonable . theres a lot of critical channels about star citizen and rightfully so. but i think people watch all of them and bounce around to get a slightly different lense of things although its all been said and done. We're just waiting for Chris Roberts to clean house and save the project. because this project Should work by now.
This game and maybe project zomboid absolutely blow my mind with how long the development is taking lol.
we saw the door in the thumbnail vro 💀
Its always cool to see people talk about this stuff in a friendly way without getting heated, while realistic too
Really hoping for all the major tech changes to end somewhat soon so they can focus on refining the rest of the game, but in any case im really patient xD
Also the airplane analogy is really cool!
from gta to star citizen. the question is what will be the next game?
I logged in Friday night and had 20 people stuck in the apartment building on Orison. The elevators would come to the floors but never go to the ground level, it was fun chilling with people talking shit for about 15 minutes but then got old real quick as the joke wore off.
Been backed since 2014. This isnt my first rodeo.
I miss your old GTA videos
Phoenix should probably have a bathroom i would think.
wow that's the first video i watch when i know you!!
Ive had alot of good luck with the new patch- Just gotta know how to workaround the bugs- Still the greatest game ever made
I couldn't get into Arena Commander Winners Circle with the newest patch.
The initial live 4.0 worked great for me, and then every subsequent update has gotten worse for me. Go figure.
10:54 = skipping the "Watching older vids" stuff
Elevators are currently borked again at checkmate
...cant leave...
Port Tressler elevators are still jacked :(
It must be certain locations or something. I havent been anywhere near ruin station but ive had a relatively flawless experience in the most recent patch today.
@Olli Lamborghini has an orange like that with a light color shift but guess what... its not cheap😂
Your voice sounds exactly the same as it did back then.
So odd, I usually have all the bugs and issues, but 4.0 to 4.0.1 have been great, elevators aside. Oh my Kat did eat 500k of RMC, crying a little.
PLAYABLE NOW!!!!
CIG cannot be trusted to fix these bloody elevators. Instead they should just add stairs. God I’m good.
I spent way over 30 mins waiting to get into game the when I did I was stuck in my room so then again had to wait again again stuck on a hospital bed then time out error etc etc etc
Make Elevators Great Again
I bought star citizen like 2 years ago but I need a new mobo and CPU to even play anyways 😢 my b450m and ryzen 5 3600 are lagging behind. I got 32gbs of ram and an rx6600 but even then, my mobo can’t handle the full speeds of them both so even those are being throttled by my mobo. I can get like 30-40fps peak, but I can dip down to unplayable levels.
You read the patch wrong.
It wasn't a "hotfix" it was a "notfix".
True🎉
Olli never use EU servers I was just in a USA server and it was mostly fine
Its unplayable but dont worry, theres a new cash cow (ship) coming
Are you using loseless scaling?
Sub flair this month - WOW - GIG are taking the piss!!!!
You guys actually get to join the game?
still a pre alpha, elevators and bugs, pyro, still waiting on ships bought in 2013, no economy, broken inventory and many more since 2013, bit of a ruff patch ay
Game is busted and they whiped my ships and money….
Am I the only one that uses the radial menu for elevators.
Honestly, I've had much better luck with US East servers in Star Citizen. I tend to have the same insanely long loading issues as you do on EU
Why didn't you tell us in the title, that this was mainly going to be about gtav?
If you're new don't buy star citizen, it's a griefers paradise that's void of content and buggy as hell.
Olli, when I mix orange and green I think it looks like vomit. You made the vomit Porsche.
Anyway, see any good landing gear lately? I know you’re a feet guy.
They shouldn’t have removed 3.24
No they need to stop having ship sales, and working on new ships for more ship sales, and put some effort into fixing the fucking bugs, and stop hiding behind the loyalists its been over a decade and this game is always broken.. always, and it gets worse each year, im so sick of hearing shit like "they are inventing new technology" this excuse, that excuse, it all just excuse after ship sale, get off your fucking yachts and play the game chris tell me how fun it is!
hi olli
