Hey Meg!! I'm also a medical student and I tore my meniscus and developed a cyst that is very painful. Do you know what kind of meniscus tear you had? How are you doing now????
Hi!! Hope med school is going well for you! Sorry to hear about your injury, I know it makes everything more stressful with school etc :( I had a radial tear of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus. I hope you have a smooth and quick recovery!
Hello there, I hope you are doing good after the surgery. I am in a similar situation here, I tore my ACL like week ago completely, but fortunatelly nothing else was injured in my knee. I found interesting that you actually exercised you knee few weeks before the surgery. Could you recommend what kind of exercises you did, so that I could try to do them too? I have low range of motion right now and would be good to exercise the leg before the surgery, which will be like in a month possibly.
Yes I definitely think it’s a great idea to build up your leg strength/range of motion before surgery (they say a stiff knee going into surgery means an even stiffer knee after surgery!) and a lot of doctors recommend prehab. The exercises I did were quad sets, heel slides, wall sits, bridges (with workout band would push legs apart during bridge with resistance), and squeezing a soccer ball between thighs. If you google prehab exercises for ACL surgery there are some great protocols that you can find! Or on TH-cam as well. Best of luck with surgery!
Thanks for the videos :D Got the same injury skiing, next week I'm having surgery and its nice to find someone explaining "same" process. Cheers!
Best of luck with your surgery and recovery!
Great video. I got the same exact injuries, torn ACL and meniscus tear. 10 days post op now. 🙏
Best of luck in your recovery!
I almost tore my ACL. I'll never figured out if I damaged it

How are ye now? Learned a few things I didn't know so cheers for that :)
I'm glad! Doing well, currently at about 11 weeks post op and just starting to see more improvement in my knee bending and function!
I’m approaching my fourth week of recovery after surgery, tore my ACL and damaged my meniscus.
How is it now?
@@romesawsama Just following doctor’s orders and taking it one day at a time.
