Cherisse Osei on drums is a class of its own. rarely seen a Woman like that enjoying every single hit on the drums, and the Waterfront song is based on the archaic drum kicks ...fantastic drummer lady ... more of this Lady ..drums vibe inside and outside her ...Hats off!
It’s me Glen Green. I was at the gig it was great. Jim and the boys rock! Could have laid on some sandwiches though, got a bit peckish after the second song and had to nip out for a French provincial meal. Yum!
What a awesome night took my wife to only her second SM gig she did not stop dancing all night. Hope they play there again wonderful city and venue. Thanks for posting. 🙂
Sparkle in the rain album was pivotal to thier career and it really opened the door to success for simple minds. It’s my favorite SM album and waterfront is on it. Man I love these guys
I wish Mick Mcniel would come back. He was (is) a spectacular keyboardist. I’ll never forget his playing in November 1985 at the Wang Center Boston. Just magnificent
@@loucat2779 true. OK they played the Orpheum theater in Boston in 1984, I know this because I missed that concert due to a horrible friend not providing a ride home.
all those folk with the cameras how was the concert nae idea, i was too busy videoing it, but will watch it back later too see how good it was whats the point in going to see a top band like this and spending half your time trying to video the whole thing!
@@jollyboyjohnmck correct, but I wasn't there to enjoy them live, seen many of the top acts in Edinburgh over the years. Went to watch and enjoy them live. Nowadays folk to have to video it. a strange modern phenomen
@@angelahenderson3130 ,am on a downer noo, just canny get over how good they were at this gig, followed them from the begining, seen them loads of times, but this was there ultimate gig, will take this gig to ma grave, love them so much.

I love Simple Minds music beyond words. Fell in love with their music when I was about 15 and I'm still listening at 51. Come tour in the USA please!
I know right? They hardly ever come to the states. I’ve been a fan since 1984.
@@animaljustice7774 they'll be visiting in 2024. No excuses.

Saw Simple Minds many years ago. They were more than amazing in Princes Street Gardens on 12 August. Brilliant band in an amazing setting.
Nice, but stop using the word amazing!
FANTASTIC... And what a reception! Jim knows just how to get the crowd cranked up! 🎶❤🎶

Man amazing performance! I love Simple Minds!👌🥰👉♥️👍
Jim and Charlie - LEGENDS! Mind….Jim’s moves, always slightly dubious, looking a bit like Peter Wright
Saw SM in Las Vegas in 18’. They killed it. Hope to see them again!

Saw them at the Orpheum a few years before, wicked good. New keyboard player is a little easier on the eyes than Mick though, lol.

Mick is an absolute legend.

Their heyday has long gone!!!!
It has,but their still knocking it out, I don’t think Jim can stop,it’s in his blood.
yet their still filling 20’000 seater stadiums night after night
My Mom , don t Drink after Midnight
🍀
Love the Minds and respect to all the musicians, but they need Mel Gaynor and Derek Forbes. Sort of a semi-tribute band otherwise.
Agree totally. This is Simply Steps, not the Minds I know and love.
It's become a circus show 🤣🤣🤣
3 of the 5 is pretty good compared to a lot of bands from the 80s. Look at Foreigner. 0 of 5.
Forbes and Gaynor are sleeping already
You just look to old times....how are they now 🤷♂️
Sadly so Correct.
Great vibe
Sad copy of Simple Minds 80 's ...so sad . Go blessss. Dead and etc .
1st seen Ibrox last hydro poor imitation no Gaynor Forbes or music McNeil.never been same since Charlie floggs Jim by best
Who is this …? Is it a bad parody cabaret band …….FFS Jim get a day job……..
Haha Harsh!
You are talking gibberish ffs!!
