I can't remember if my goosejacket ever was so intense ??! Holy moly, why so much ? Know that song for a quite long time, but this time it hits me,like never before .... duuuude .... !! 🫶🥰👏🤘🎼❤️🔥🙏🍀🌻🎙♾️
This almost brought a tear to my eye. The last time I saw Simple Minds playing live was at Sheffield Lyceum on the original New Gold Dream tour in September 1982. They were majestic and this still sounds wonderful all these years later. NGD is one of thee greatest albums of all time and the memories I have of that album are priceless and incomparable.
LOL, I just posted on another SM song (from this same concert) that NGD was one of my Top 3 fav's of the 80's - with the other two being Unknown Pleasures and Script of the Bridge... (either of those in YOUR top 3?)
@@stevendphoto Haha. Script is definitely in my top 5, I saw the Chameleons on that tour and they too were superb. I never saw them again afterwards though. As for Unknown Pleasures, if someone doesn't love that album then I'd question their sanity, although I do have moments when I prefer Closer. It depends on my mood :)
Absolutely amazing tune. One of my favorites. This one and Love Song. They don't make them like this anymore. Still sound amazing. Great drumming and keyboard chicks.
I absolutely love Jim sense of humor, I always loved this track..... That intro with the tek guy being introduced was simply brilliant! Jim never got me to laugh so hard ever before.
Can't adequately describe what these guys means to me. Discovered New Gold Dreams on a CD rack at the odd little music store at Aviano Air Base, IT in 1991 and bought it only because of the cover art. Have listened to Simple Minds ever since. When I think back to my dad and I travelling across Italy, Austria, CH, NGD is the theme, the epitome of sophistication, the epitome of cool.
2:34 - Oh man, as soon as that synth hook drops.. sooooooo good - way more 'present' than in the recorded version where it's 'behind' the bass line .. the albums from this period were almost psychedelic..
Seems like a Simple Minds Coverband with the original Singer and Guitarist. Miss Mel Gaynor, Michael MacNeil and Derek Forbes. That were definitely the best times.
Before they became U2 lite, have to say, they were one of the tops in the 80's. Up to "Glittering Prize," damn. Thanks for the memories. The bass player up to that LP, was also the shit.
@@MrLozza70 ofcourse everybody is entitled of their own opinion...but how long ago Derek has left the band? I keep reading the same statements on and on by certain people...its time to move on .... the statement has already been made over and over again. For me Ged is doing a good job...as did the one before him imo...But hey, lets be honest..they had their finest days behind them...thats perfectly normal.
That bassline had me hooked and still does...
There's something ethereal about this song.. still makes my hair stand up.
Ethereal absolutely sums this song up. It’s beautiful
Been listening to simple mind's for decades, still one of the best live bands 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
La mejor
Been a fan since 1979.
Eres muy inteligente, tienes un gusto exquisito
World class 👏
Simple n Damn Good. Have been listening to them since 1986. Congratulations to Jim n Charlie for their ever more successful band.
These guys have made the soundtrack for my life, thank you
All SM songs are timeless, eternal.

@@hauntological Awesome, most people like Closer better, so it's all good...!
Classic Simple Mind’s. Glad they still perform the song.

This is good today, in the 80:ies they were new and fresh nd they were soooo magic.

Charlie s guitar 🎸 playing is legendary on this song
Thanks for this clip , they were superb that night .Book of brilliant things a particular highlight.

in Berlin this May he said: "last time we played Berlin, I still had hair !"
Headliners for the Sunday of Glastonbury 2023 please ,they deserve it more than anyone

That medieval cover art of the 80s, also used by Erasure and OMD
New Gold Dream. Aviano(PN-Pordenone) biggest italian air base.
Llevo años escuchando mi Linda BANDA que AMOOO...👏👏👏👏👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘
Just love this song to pieces. Appreciate the subtleties much more now than when I was an impatient student.
What an amazing gig I was there❤

Cette façon de bouger sur scène👍👍♥️♥️💯💯💯
Fabulous 👌🏻 👏🏻
Terrific version of a terrific song. 👍👍👍👍

Many thanks 🙏
Went back and still 🤘👍

Apart from headlining Glastobury they should be in the rock n roll hall of fame
I was there! A great evening 😀

My favourite Simple Minds song
Que barbaridad de canción. Eterna. Magica. Una obra de músicos geniales.

Was a right special night this one.

Wonderful. Fixing the drum kit 😂
Výborné...
Ik wil de Simple Minds ooit nog een keer live zien! Zo gaaf!

Great
Big up Coatbridge. There's a phrase you don't hear often
I do do do agree with u Elixsbeth !!!!
LMAO, Jim introducing Sarah... "She's a much better singer that I am, but my legs are better" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They have produced some of the best music of all time but come on it’s not Simple Minds anymore and hasn’t been for years.
Muito bom mesmo!
Tocar con los músicos con que se grabó el vídeo hace 40 años sería bueno. Estos son otros músicos.
Before they became U2 lite, have to say, they were one of the tops in the 80's. Up to "Glittering Prize," damn. Thanks for the memories. The bass player up to that LP, was also the shit.

Oh Jim 😂 Kareoke version.
From 2:40
At last! Ged is using the correct bass.
Makes a world’s difference!!
Been liking his Stingray sound.
( He's not DF ) 🙂
So what is that Gordy fellas job exactly?
Plugging the holes in Jim's vocals
a bit faster, boys... but nice, even the bass is quite nice this time
I know Cherisse’s dad!
X factor simple minds .
This fear of Gods intro has melted into this intro. Nice one! th-cam.com/video/MmRFSnOePWk/w-d-xo.html
Not sure if that was on purpose.
This is not really Simple Minds.
Needs Derek's feel. Something is missing.
Sound better with Derek Forbes.
Derek was the master bassist.
Why come here...put your record on
Let other people enjoy 😉
