Grendizer? that was Mazinger Z. The Golden Age of the Robots was in the 70's with Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Ufo Robot Grendizer, Jeeg Robot, Getter Robot, Gordian, Daitarn 3, Daltanius, Gundam 0079.......these are the latest.
i dont know if you are stupid or just ignorant. Power rangers spawned from Super Sentai. which started in 1975. Voltron started in 1984. "You Young'ins disappoint me." you must be one of those young'ins then...
Voltron came from the anime go beast king lion.... It's an anime plus the 5 lion bit becoming voltron was purely on accident it would of been daltanious but they choose the wrong tape of the anime to edit but they ended up liking go beat king lion so they choose that and voltron existed
I'm sorry, but please do not call the VF-1 Valkyrie a "Veritech" Cringed hard there with how Robotech tainted the Macross series and why we don't see M7 and later in the US.
10 Patlabor - It's a fun comedy. 9 VF-25 - Agreed best suit in Macross 8 Veritech - All I see as a VF-1 Valkyrie, what is this Veritech, and the VF-25 is better anyway, It's appearance in Zero is also improved its design and showed off it's skilled. 7 Escaflowne - It's cool 6 Big O - Love it. 5 Knightmare - They are too small. 4 Gurren Laggan - All reason's you gave, also fit with Getter Robo. 3 Eva - The Unit themselves are alive, therefore doesn't count for this list, but ok then. They have there cable, with does stop there mobility. 2 Mobile Suit's - Just Mobile Suit's, ok... That's quite a number considering Build Fighters also count in there, in may as well said Gundam. 1 Voltron - Oh, it's GoLion. Really that's it, not many Super's and you forgot like everything. such as the Liger Zero, Megas XLZ, Demonbane, Gunbuster, Arm Slave's.
+FireBomberBassist At 2:40 I was thinking "Ok, they ranked the classic VF-1 over the VF-25" and then I saw "Veritech" in the corner, big disappointment.
Logic used in this video: -Let's put 2 Macross mechas on this list, because they're basically the same but we like them. -Let's summarize Gundam's, which each of them is really different from the others, in just the original one. -Let's put EVA's in number 3, despite having the power of demi-gods that can cause an event on the Earth that basically kills everyone.
+Adam Knight Basically, Robotech is not an original series. The company that brought it to USA grabbed 3 different animes (one of them being Macross, the one with the planes that transform into robots) and mixed them into one and called it Robotech. It's like I grabbed footage from Adventure Time, Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, mixed all of that into one thing, called it something like "Crazy Adventures" and showed it to you as if it was original.
+jazzbrawl64 Cavarly Southern Cross (which is related to Macross, but not sure if it shares the same universe) and Genesis Climber Mospeada, this having absolutely nothing to do with Macross.
For as much as I love Gundam and Code Geass, , the top slot really should go to either the Messiah from Macross or the Eva units from Evangelion. Both are super versatile, extremely powerful, and look absolutely gorgeous.
***** It's a Japanese show, and the pronunciation relies on Japanese syntax, which changes the way you sound out each syllable and where the separation is.
10. pretty old series, surprised they know it 9. poor mans CGI gundam series 8. never watches the series myself, so I have no comment 7. thought it would be higher but ok 6. love the desigins in that show 5. its OK, but the show is not really known for its action, but more known for its story 4. nigga that thing took the full force of the big bang, overpowered as hell and I love it 3. still a weird series 2. what this is number 2? this should be number 1 1. what? voltron really? how American is this list? not going to lie this list is kind of bad, needs more GUNDAM.
Dragonk116 don't disrespect Shoji Kowamori he made three iconic Gundams the Gp02 series. And actually in Japan Macross and Gundam fans have better respect for each other than star wars and star trek fans. And Robotech is basically an abridged series of SDF Macross.
This is what i say macross was the first of the first to basically make anything mecha transform and gundam is what made mecha popular. Macross and gundam where made 3 years apart and where macross was made in 1982 and gundam was made in 1979 and transformers was made 1984
Yeah no.... Gundam should have been on the first place. Voltron is not worthy enough for take the first place over Gundam. I call a rematch! Gundam is WAY more iconic to any top 10 Mechs in Anime than voltron would ever be! If it cant do good in japan and the world. then it does not deserve the first place
Gundam and Eva is worth on the list but all of the remaining should never in the list. -No Getter Robo -No Super Robot Love Trilogy -No Gaiking -No Diebuster -No Ideon Most of the iconics mechs are not in this list. The one who made this list and claiming they spend months of research for this should be shot in the head.
Whoever made this clearly didn't watch Gurren Lagann to the end - nothing matches the dimension tearing, hole through space hopping, galaxy sized Dai Gurren Lagann at the end. No competition.
+ToroidalVortexLove Dai Gurren Lagann. that one is not one of them. the evolutions are Arc Gurren Lagann (skyscraper size), Chou Ginga Gurren Lagann (moon size), Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (galaxy size) and Chou Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (52.8 billion light years tall)
+FutileExistence Yeah, I wasn't really here to join the debate. Just wanted to make sure all the players were present. I learned long ago that this debate can never go anywhere.
o watchmojo, you do know that Macross and Robotech are one in the same. Also Macross being the granddaddy of all robots? Do your research, that's Gigantor and if you wanna stretch it, Astro boy. And also no Zoids? Really?
I'm sorry, but a few points: 1) Gurren Lagann doesn't run on "friendship", it runs on the power of evolution and... confidence? Something like that. 2) Okay, it's widely accepted as, but it's really debatable whether EVAs are even mecha, considering how they are made. 3) #2 is a total cop out. If you have to include them, at least pick ONE :P 4) Your viewers are idiots putting it #1 above #2 :P Sorry, guys.
+Kato86 They don't always go in the order of the votes (in fact they generally don't). I checked the votes, and Voltron was 5th. Gundam was still 2nd though, Gurren Lagann took 1st. Here's the votes in case you want to check it out yourself. watchmojo.com/suggest/Top+Ten+Mechs+in+Anime
Parsa Rahimi Huh, that makes things even weirder... I would actually accept TTGL being one, despite being way less iconic because... well, final battle and all. My memories of Voltron are pretty limited but has it anything going for it despite being... undefeated? If even that?
I always loved the realism of Evangelion. All other mecha series just throw you a robot that moves with "magic" or "friendship" (to quote WatchMojo). NGE showed you the umbilical cords, the lauch pads, the armors, the training facilities, the software used in NERV. Even when Shinji is using his positron rifle, they show you how they will power it. And that opening theme used to give me chills.
As cool as Voltron may have been for its time, I think the Nearvosh from Eureka Seven deserves a spot on this list: using a giant surf board to fly, transforming into a car for quick ground transport, later transforming into it's own jet for a quick air-borne get-away, requiring the power of bonds formed from friendship and love to unleash its ultimate, and consequently deadly attack. Eureka Seven is all around a good series, possibly even a great one, with a good message at its heart, and not merely something used to sell toys the way other robot shows have done. And, NO, I'm not specifically saying that any particular show mentioned on this list has been made to serve that purpose. I also am a fan of Zoids, and of Zoids: Chaotic Century.
I could've taken this as "just our opinion", but the most basic of mistakes were made. Bad dates on Gundam clips, showing Mazinger Z and labeling it as Grendizer, citing that Veritechs are better than a specific Valkyrie (when they are the very same thing rebranded for different adaptations.), no mention of Golion during Voltron. I can't imagine how many other videos have bad information when the most base of Mecha knowledge is gotten wrong. Horrible man, just horrible. Retry. Do it again.
Hooooly crap I forgot Big O existed!! How could I have forgotten. I remember all the anime I first saw as a kid on Adult Swim, even tho the Adult Swim advertisements said "all kids outta' the pool." haha :P
Of listing enjoying most is Macross, Evangelion, Escaflowne and Code Geass. The 4 favored in the list there is a fine list and Voltron is there too with the piece by piece method. Nice work,,,
My top three favorites personally (and I’m not categorizing by power just childhood and nostalgia) 3. Macross 2. Gundam 1. Voltron And yes I am American 😂
Gurren lagann does got an good looking design but best? Not entirely true cause the series gurren lagann was influence by aka shin getter Robo armmeggadon had some great designs
dat errors , dat list. as a mech fan i'm really insulted in this list, even when they mention "Varitech from Robotech" instead of VF-1A/S from the "ORIGINAL" SDF Marcross serie (also epic fail at show it after Macross Frontier) No Getter Robo or Mazinger in 1st palce since they are the epitome of classic super mech (even mistake his name with the 3rd instalment of Mazin trio, Grendizer) .... no Shin Getter Robo or Mazinkaiser (both original and SKL) who can literally tear appart any of them. no Gaigaigar , no Dancuga , no Combattler V , Voltes V or Daimos, no MF G Gundam , no Raxephon.... lots of mechs who aren't in this list. and the great insult was call the VF-1A the grand daddy of all mechs when , RX-78-2 was created before him , before RX , Mazinger and Getter , AND MUCH MORE before the real grand daddy of all mechs , Tetsujin #28 (aka: Ironman 28 for this side of the hemisphere)
SenshiSam really true ... so much inaccurate information , the person who did the research and the list is like someone put the names in random.org and scramble them to list it. its like the top 10 of mech in videogames and top 10 of mobile suits in gundams
+Raisen-kun I think you need to chill out and realize that a lot of these lists integrate popularity and influence on pop culture into their rankings. But we get it, you know a lot about giant robots, that's wonderful.
Josh Leitzel As been show, time and time that the list has no effect on the final results. Like the "top 10 vampires", where Dio defeat all competition by a mile, but still not in the list.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the the VF-1As called Valkyries in the original macross? I still have the full transformable one and in one of the corners they forgot to cover the japanese text and says that after the name
Maybe they should've watched the second arc of Gurren Lagann to witness Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann throw some GALAXIES around. Absolute bullshit that it's only 4th on the list
Yeah! Why would they include the US adaptations of shows? Voltron is considered an cartoon not an anime same goes for robotech a lot of the footage is from animes but they were nothing like the actual animes also go beast king lion shouldn't be number 1
@@dol_mel7487 More to the point, why would they not properly explain where the mecha originally came from? Critical research failures abound in this video, and it's clear they only did the "we rate the individual mecha, not the show" as a flimsy excuse to put the same mecha line in twice (Macross & Robotoech)
Seems the list followed US adaptation. Ending in the first release of Voltron lion force is different from the original Go-lion (more brood and violent overall). IMO gundams/mobile suits deserve the top spot better than voltron.
Robotech is not an anime. The word you are looking for is "Macross." Robotech is just a shit quality American mutant created using stock footage from an actual anime.
+Aezelll Well it is anime. A combination of 3 anime. Not stock footage. It's like your comparing it with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. That is an actual show that uses stock footage. Then you got the shows The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Robotech: The Macross Saga, which if you actually saw Robotech and Macross, the series follows it with edits and dubbing in English of course. Then you got Super Dimension Calvary Southern Cross and Robotech: The Masters Saga. And Genesis Climber MOSPEADA (this is not connected with Macross at all, just similar mechs) and Robotech: The New Generation. The Robotech series used all the episodes (with edits) and didn't flip scenes around from the other series. Find things out first then post a comment. They did it again with Voltron: Defender of the Universe or should I say an edited Beast King GoLion(or part of it since America produced or paid for 20 extra episodes), and Vehicle Force Voltron or an edited Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. They were completely different anime put as two shows connected to each other. Then we (World Event Productions) asked Toei Animation to produce footage (with some stock footage) so that the two shows could connect to each other for the movie Voltron: Fleet of Doom. Wow! I hoped you learned something.
+ElTee842 if its made by american and produced as well have some japanese anime american material doesn't make it an anime just like how power rangers and super senai work
I cant believe evas were above Gurren Lagann, but also not even an honourable mention for appleseeds landmates or full metal panics Arbalest? Also no mention of Zoids? you could probably do a whole top 10 just on zoids.
We need a mortal kombat game with These mechs, the Transformers, and any other giant robot/Mech suit. How awesome would it be to fight Optimus prime with Voltron?
Pwnedgamer94 Ever heard of super robot wars its not like mortal kombat but it brings multiple mecha franchises in it they haven't gotten the transformers license yet probably cause of how expensive it is, and also Voltron isn't popular at all really in japan
Man, these Macross "purists" are total tools; the western anime fan owes much to Robotech's creators. Sure, we all saw Macross later and loved it, but it takes nothing away from the English adaption that blew our little minds back in the day - and it was no hack job either.
Though robotech isn't good and also because of robotech we cannot get anything like macross dubs or figures which macross had much better designs later on also robotech is an adaptation of multiple animes being edited together it hold of been considered an cartoon just like voltron and not an anime
Say what you will but none of these mechs hold a candle to Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann. Considering the fact that it can literally just through a galaxy as an attack.
Eh what suprised me is they even considered voltron an anime mecha when he's a really cartoon mecha also voltron is much bigger than gurren but gurren lagann's ability to take over and vontrol bots could easily take over go beast king lion
this isn't based solely on power guys. design and notoriety is a huge factor and they literally built a statue of the RX78-2 Gundam in Japan so yeah. if this was the list of strongest Mecha then im sure Gurren Lagann would take the cake but when it comes to overall you gotta give respect to the guys who are still going (MSG) and a name any fan of mecha anime can recognize, Voltron.
+StrikeZero _ except voltron isn't even an anime comsidered it was americanized and brought together as a completely different show also demonbane literally was bigger than gurren lagann
If you ever make an updated version gusion rebake fullcity has to be the top pick. Why? He destroyed Iok Kujan and brought us one of the most satisfying scene in anime.
I like the list, but 2 problems...you were off on some of the names and Macross and Robotech are sort of the same thing. Side note, Voltron isn't technically an anime.
So...let me get this straight. VF-25 from Macross gets 9th place, but then the VF-1 from the western version of the original Macross gets a higher spot?
Voltron is garbage. You need to do more research. Group of 5 mech doesn't start with Voltron. Cobattler V is almost 10 years earlier. There's also Voltes V. PS, Mazinkaiser is much stronger than Voltron. Gurren Lagann is much larger than the entire galaxy. You expect Voltron that puny machine can do crap? And you put Grendizer, but with Mazinger picture... Other strong mechs like Gaiking (old and new), Dancouga (old and new), Getter Robo (original, G, Shin, Neo, New), Linebarrels of Iron, Mazinkaiser SKL, Steel Jeeg, Raideen...
Correction. Honorable Mention Grendizer is actually called Mazinger. The first being chronologically linked and preceding the second in the timeline. Those two count for one hell of a series and are the ACTUAL GRAND DADDYS of Mecha series. Also check for Mazinkaizer.
+gursimar singh In that case, Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann should have been #1 for sure, it could destroy all of these by just putting its finger in a general direction.
anyone else notice that while all Gundam suits were lumped together, the VF-25 Messiah and VF-1 Valkyrie were conveniently separated? Robotech is the American dub of Macross. Also the honorable mention of Grendizer... yeah that was Mazinger Z, the literally grand daddy of all piloted mecha.
Show me a gundam that can survive a moons density that rivals a black hole, a fleet bombardment and some crazy ass ripper bot in the same episode. Let that gundam reach the end of space and then it can take the #1 spot. I'll even make a pretty hat for it!

No way for Voltron being #1.. i would choose Eva's or Gundam's any given day
The voice said in terms of power ect.
In terms of power, Gurren Lagann outranks them all then. Time and Space are literally playthigs to it.
Jacques Montana and in terms of power demonbane outranks gurren lagann.

6 Big O - Love it.
+John Balkin Knightmares can vary in size, as there are a lot of Knightmare frames above 80 feet and ones as large as a full office building.
akcubed3 Could you name one? 80 feet is like 3x taller than a average Knightmare.
John Balkin the Siegfried. And I was exaggerating about 80 feet lol
Isn't the Siegfried a Knight Giga Fortress and not a Knightmare?
John Balkin
no it's considered a knightmare as you can physically pilot it to attack and defend
honestly gundam deserved to be number one
I they didn't use the wing cancer footage it wouls be number 1.
But which gundam series? If i were to choose, I'll pick the 08th ms team
Charred Brisket don't like the comment, its at 78
Charred Brisket ye
Charred Brisket yes
9:06 Grendizer! *Shows a clip of Mazinger Z!* Ouch, and with that critical mistake, makes this entire list invalid.
+FireBomberBassist
At 2:40 I was thinking "Ok, they ranked the classic VF-1 over the VF-25" and then I saw "Veritech" in the corner, big disappointment.
Watch mojo you have faild!!
+TheDinoKitteh HAHAHA Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. 1979 - 80.
+FireBomberBassist This and Gundam's top ten were bullshit.
+FireBomberBassist agreed
The one you named Grenadier was Mazinger Z. Great video by the way. And I agree with your list. Voltron and Gundam are in my top as well.
ARE YOU FOR FUCKING REAL? you put an image of mazinger z and named it grendizer IN THE HONORABLE MENTIONS!!!????? HE WAS SUPOSSED TO BE IN NUMBER 1
+georgeahi This list should be called "Top ten mechs from anime, for people who doesn't know anything about robots".
100% agreed, no mention of the Getters who predate Voltron and no Kotetsu Jeeg either.
+georgeahi of course
+georgeahi Totally agreed. I also would have accepted Getter Robo or GaoGaiGar as number 1.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I am not first
neither are you
+♥iPlay♡ Firts to like and reply to your comment.
+Marco Witteman You're firts?
Profane Gunman yes
Marco Witteman firts though?
Profane Gunman yes, i am allways firts.
I only came here to laugh at the list.
+TheRadioSquare We all did, Char, we all did.
No way. Gundam cannot in number 2 list.
Super Gurren Lagann Tengen Toppa can solo verses of all above put together. Just make sure its pilots' names don't get written in the Death Note
Ryouma Nagare's name won't be in that death note with his Getter Emperor
that is a complete garbage compared with getter emperor / mazinger zero
ROXX he is bigger than the observable universe
Robinson Rodriguez and getter emperor destroys universes with normal attacks. Whats your point?
Death note can't kill simon
Logic used in this video:
-Let's put 2 Macross mechas on this list, because they're basically the same but we like them.
-Let's summarize Gundam's, which each of them is really different from the others, in just the original one.
-Let's put EVA's in number 3, despite having the power of demi-gods that can cause an event on the Earth that basically kills everyone.
My thoughts exactly, especially the evas part.
+Matias Dos Santos Wich were the other 2 animes grabbed for Robotech? I don't remember them
+jazzbrawl64 Cavarly Southern Cross (which is related to Macross, but not sure if it shares the same universe) and Genesis Climber Mospeada, this having absolutely nothing to do with Macross.
Les not forget the Eva's are actually living things XD
For me it's
1. Zaku II
2. Shin Getter Robo
3. Mazinger Z
4. Gundams
5. Valkyries (Macross)
6. LFOs
7. Labors
8. Scopedogs
9. Steel Jeeg
10. New Getter Robo
For as much as I love Gundam and Code Geass, , the top slot really should go to either the Messiah from Macross or the Eva units from Evangelion. Both are super versatile, extremely powerful, and look absolutely gorgeous.
Ehs-Cah-Flow-Nay is how Escaflowne is pronounced
+Mark Samenfink exactly.
+Mark Samenfink Not in French, Escaflowne is pronounced like they did.
***** It's a Japanese show, and the pronunciation relies on Japanese syntax, which changes the way you sound out each syllable and where the separation is.
Thank you!
I lost my shit when I heard the way they pronounced it xD. Thought I was the one pronouncing wrong all this time.
9:06 that is not grendizer is mazinger z
Calling tthe macross mech as the grand daddies while ignoring Tetsujin 28 silly watch mojo.
+muryoken muryo and why voltron is number one that is really funny
+Mr nice guy I shall form the head! nah but seriously the two mechs i was hoping for were the ones from Bokurano and Knights of Sidonia
+Mr nice guy You beat me to this. I was about to comment the same thing.
Agree, besides mazinger z is the best mecha of all times ....
gundam not #1....
gundam not #1
gundam NOT #1
gundam NOT #1 ?
GUNDAM NOT #1 ???!!!
Right!!!!!!
+GamingPenis Burning Gundam is that shit though
+GamingPenis
im also piss not seeing gundam in 1,
but seeing *Kurorugi Suzaku/shinji ikari* makes me more piss that I end-up pressing *DISLIKE*
+GamingPenis Yep.
Have ur opinion somewhere else
10. pretty old series, surprised they know it
9. poor mans CGI gundam series
8. never watches the series myself, so I have no comment
7. thought it would be higher but ok
6. love the desigins in that show
5. its OK, but the show is not really known for its action, but more known for its story
4. nigga that thing took the full force of the big bang, overpowered as hell and I love it
3. still a weird series
2. what this is number 2? this should be number 1
1. what? voltron really? how American is this list? not going to lie this list is kind of bad, needs more GUNDAM.
-No Getter Robo
-No Super Robot Love Trilogy
-No Gaiking
-No Diebuster
-No Ideon
Most of the iconics mechs are not in this list. The one who made this list and claiming they spend months of research for this should be shot in the head.
Shining Trapezohedron Eva units arent mechs. Simple.
+Shining Trapezohedron macross series deserved in this list too
+Zurakci's Gaming Channel well they still appear in super robot wars series games
Rey1993 They are on the list.
+ToroidalVortexLove This list wasn't about the most powerful and if that were the case Demonbane makes TTGL look like less than nothing
+FutileExistence I'mma just throw Getter Emperor into this so we have all the major players from this years old debate present :p
Bombastuss That's nice but... Elder God Demonbane stomps them both
+FutileExistence Yeah, I wasn't really here to join the debate. Just wanted to make sure all the players were present. I learned long ago that this debate can never go anywhere.
VOLTRON!? Getter Robo and Mazinkaiser would tear that shit apart in seconds.
+Duke Gundam Implying they know about mech.
They also ignored Kotetsu Jeeg a mech that can be immediately customized during battle.
No way buddy
+Duke Gundam exactly what i though, like how da hell the VOLTRON even make it on here
+arcerus22 maybe the simple that pure strength alone wasn't the deciding factor in the creation of this list?
I would have put Gundam and Gurren Lagann over Voltron, but I can live with this since Voltron was my first mech anime.
Gurren laggan at number 4? You guys are high it's top 2 at best!
o watchmojo, you do know that Macross and Robotech are one in the same. Also Macross being the granddaddy of all robots? Do your research, that's Gigantor and if you wanna stretch it, Astro boy. And also no Zoids? Really?
Macross and Robotech are two way different animes
I'm pretty sure they are the same, except Robotech adding a few other anime as well, it was a mix of Macross and a few other anime as well.
Toa Levi Robotech follows some of Macross plot but the two shows are much different.
+Randall Jolla ah I see, my bad
+Randall Jolla Still VF-1 design comes from SDF Macross, not Robotech which borrowed it along with the footage.
I'm sorry, but a few points:
1) Gurren Lagann doesn't run on "friendship", it runs on the power of evolution and... confidence? Something like that.
2) Okay, it's widely accepted as, but it's really debatable whether EVAs are even mecha, considering how they are made.
3) #2 is a total cop out. If you have to include them, at least pick ONE :P
4) Your viewers are idiots putting it #1 above #2 :P Sorry, guys.
R.I.P Kamina I cry every time
I always loved the realism of Evangelion.
So basically every real robots anime?
"Don't believe in the me who believes in you believe in the you who believes in yourself"-The Mighty Kamina
Gurren Lagann better be in this or I'm disliking xD
Yeah it's on but god dam watchmojo can't say a name right for the life of them
jake brassington I know bro... I cringe every time they pronounce "Gurren Lagann" and "Kamina" lmao
+Memory OG I'm pretty sure he just said "Kamino". What the actual fuck.
gurren lagan sucks...mobile suit z gundam and daigunder for life!!
+Memory OG insufficient impossible done, not enough invisible seen, too few untouchables touched and not nearly enough unbreakables broken.
These should be the last 4, in no particular order: Gundams, Buster Machines, Evas, Gurren Lagann
I mean there are others like Voltron.. like votes v.. or dancouga
"cast in the name of god, YE NOT GUILTY! *punches grandpa*"
+Daniel King Dumplstiltskin, is that you?
Anthony Rice wow, thought it would take longer before someone got that reference
94unclechuck it's a reference to teamfourstar referencing big o....
Daniel King I am a huge TFS nerd, I mean I watch all their streams and- DRIIIIIIIIIIINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MegusXLR ( third)
+Keanu Phillip That's not anime.
And it's spelled Megas-XLR.
+Leo Jakšić it's still an awesome mech
Keanu Phillip Yeah, but sadly, it doesn't fit the criteria. Just like the Megazord.
My personal favorite mech series is Zoids Chaotic Century and my Favorite Mech is Shadow Fox from Zoids New Century.
The Veritech is known as the VF-1 Valkyrie in SDF Macross. So it is literally the predecessor to the VF-25 Messiah.
Nice work,,,
My top three favorites personally (and I’m not categorizing by power just childhood and nostalgia)
3. Macross
2. Gundam
1. Voltron
And yes I am American 😂
Gurren Lagann ist the best looking in my opinion ;)
Gurren lagann does got an good looking design but best? Not entirely true cause the series gurren lagann was influence by aka shin getter Robo armmeggadon had some great designs
its just my opinion dude, you are free to like what you want, i havent even seen every of the series, you could be right ;)
+SystemOfFantasy same I am with you I mean COME ON GURREN HAD A MECH THAT IS WAY BIGGER THEN GALAXY'S not to mention THEY CAN THROW GALAXY'S
+Felix Gutierrez demonbane is bigger than multiverse he could literally step on super tenga toppa gurren lagann and not care
+Jetfire48 man The Super Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann is 52.8 Billion light years tall
dat errors , dat list.
as a mech fan i'm really insulted in this list, even when they mention "Varitech from Robotech" instead of VF-1A/S from the "ORIGINAL" SDF Marcross serie (also epic fail at show it after Macross Frontier)
No Getter Robo or Mazinger in 1st palce since they are the epitome of classic super mech (even mistake his name with the 3rd instalment of Mazin trio, Grendizer) .... no Shin Getter Robo or Mazinkaiser (both original and SKL) who can literally tear appart any of them. no Gaigaigar , no Dancuga , no Combattler V , Voltes V or Daimos, no MF G Gundam , no Raxephon.... lots of mechs who aren't in this list.
and the great insult was call the VF-1A the grand daddy of all mechs when , RX-78-2 was created before him , before RX , Mazinger and Getter , AND MUCH MORE before the real grand daddy of all mechs , Tetsujin #28 (aka: Ironman 28 for this side of the hemisphere)
+Raisen-kun This list should be rename as "10 mech for people who didn't know sh*t about mechas"
SenshiSam
really true ... so much inaccurate information , the person who did the research and the list is like someone put the names in random.org and scramble them to list it. its like the top 10 of mech in videogames and top 10 of mobile suits in gundams
+Raisen-kun I think you need to chill out and realize that a lot of these lists integrate popularity and influence on pop culture into their rankings. But we get it, you know a lot about giant robots, that's wonderful.
Josh Leitzel
As been show, time and time that the list has no effect on the final results.
That's not Grendizer in the honorable mentions, that's MAZINGER!
No Go Nagai mechs, no VOTOMS, no Ideon, bad mispronunciation, and no real research
-100/10
Anubis from Zone of Enders, Detonator Orgun, Tekkaman Blade, Arbalest from Full Metal Panic, there are so many to pick from.
really?... voltron...just really?
Jacob Malone oh bitch you stupid voltron is not anime
How did Nirvash not make it onto this list? At least as an honorable mention
Maybe they should've watched the second arc of Gurren Lagann to witness Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann throw some GALAXIES around. Absolute bullshit that it's only 4th on the list
read the title the title said top 10 not top strongest
Jasper Manders Demonbane and Mazinger Zero......STTGL doesn't even stand a chance
Robotech? really? thats a rip-off of the macross series. and why voltron is number one anyway?
ikr this list is as bullsh#t as an actual bull's crap.
Yeah! Why would they include the US adaptations of shows? Voltron is considered an cartoon not an anime same goes for robotech a lot of the footage is from animes but they were nothing like the actual animes also go beast king lion shouldn't be number 1
Because USA doesn't let go of smth even if there are better stuff.
Technically it's still an anime. Sorry that you're such an immature purist, but both series are good in their own rights.
***** Read my comments above and ignore his.
***** Thank you. Some people don't care about what I say, it's nice to know that some people do. Thanks again.
+ElTee842 if its made by american and produced as well have some japanese anime american material doesn't make it an anime just like how power rangers and super senai work
I cant believe evas were above Gurren Lagann, but also not even an honourable mention for appleseeds landmates or full metal panics Arbalest? Also no mention of Zoids? you could probably do a whole top 10 just on zoids.
xandahar your forgetting a lot more awesome mecha.... mazinkaiser, cybuster, shin getter robo, and so MANY more
Well of course, but I could fill the character limit and still not have said enough, So I gave up while I was ahead.
Gurren Lagann should've been in number 1
+Elijha Bishop Just who they hell do they think we are?
Voltron? Gundam should be #1
/w Zeta Gundam being #1~
Lmaoooo STTGL is the most powerful mecha in history of animes stgu
We need a mortal kombat game with These mechs, the Transformers, and any other giant robot/Mech suit. How awesome would it be to fight Optimus prime with Voltron?
Pwnedgamer94 Ever heard of super robot wars its not like mortal kombat but it brings multiple mecha franchises in it they haven't gotten the transformers license yet probably cause of how expensive it is, and also Voltron isn't popular at all really in japan
Pwnedgamer94 yesssssss I would want to see that so bad and the fatality he can go into god ginrai form and just destroy voltron
There is one on the dreamcast. Granted the mechs have different names but you know who they are
Should had added that fact that Robotech is SDF Macross which is connected to Macross Frontier.
Where is Mazinkaiser, Shin getter, and Gaogaigar?
Voltron over Gundam!? lame...
yeah.... you right
I'm a little disappointed that they didn't use tengen toppa gurren lagann
I dont think they even watched the series to even put the ultimate mech at the top of the list, even regular gurren lagaan would destroy voltron
+StrikeZero _ except voltron isn't even an anime comsidered it was americanized and brought together as a completely different show also demonbane literally was bigger than gurren lagann
even optumus prime loves voltron
If you ever make an updated version gusion rebake fullcity has to be the top pick. Why? He destroyed Iok Kujan and brought us one of the most satisfying scene in anime.
TrueTRG as greatful as I am for that moment theres still far more powerful and awesomer mecha
I like the list, but 2 problems...you were off on some of the names and Macross and Robotech are sort of the same thing. Side note, Voltron isn't technically an anime.
Why Voltron No.1,Gundam No.2?
Becasue they don't want to admit their ignorance in Top 10 Giant Robots.
9:05 LOL. Goes to show you how much these guys know about what they're talking about.
Yay at least they show up Maziger Z as grandizer I love Maziger z
As Grendizer yes... which is wrong.
So...let me get this straight. VF-25 from Macross gets 9th place, but then the VF-1 from the western version of the original Macross gets a higher spot?
american's didnt know DAIMOS and VOLTES5!
Bern De leon and gaogaigar, shin mazinger, mazinkaiser, shin getter robo....
The list wasn't about power, but general coolness, tho the list is terrible regardless.
If we're talking coolness GaoGaiGar takes the cake and turns in to light with heaven and hell
guess the list is a pure grabage
IMO GaoGaiGar is the best mecha of all time. It perfectly represents all the cheesinnes and epicness the super robot genre can offer
Correction. Honorable Mention Grendizer is actually called Mazinger. The first being chronologically linked and preceding the second in the timeline. Those two count for one hell of a series and are the ACTUAL GRAND DADDYS of Mecha series. Also check for Mazinkaizer.
I think Gurren Lagann should have been 1st,its final form is bigger than than the visible UNIVERSE
I know right this so stupid
Yea but it still can't beat Getter Emperor which could eliminate all living things in one blast of it's Getter Beam.
.... it... can shoot through time... and dude... gurren lagann is practically a godly mech
+Christian Barnes ever heard of dodging?
+jpn 101 the size of the blast is relatively big so without doubt it still would get hit
Evangelion number 3 ? Fuck this list >.>
+Turng ND its not about the show...its about the mech....
Agreed. I would rather have seen Escaflowne in the number 3 spot
+gursimar singh In that case, Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann should have been #1 for sure, it could destroy all of these by just putting its finger in a general direction.
+Profane Gunman Evangelions can survive being bombed with 100 super nukes. Gurren Lagann wouldn't stand a chance.
Agreed, would have rather seen Evangelion at number 1.
Anyone ever heard of GUNBUSTER or Dangaioh? Give them a watch they are great mecha animes.
Yes yes yes and add The Hades Project Zeorymer
In my opinion, I think Aquarion was more badass than Big O. Glad to see the nod to Macross/Robotech.
TheAbydos76 Though they shouldn't count two things from macross...
*Sigh* No KG-series from Aldnoah Zero or the Arm Slaves from Full Petal Panic.
I agree and knights of sidonia could have had an hm, or Tenchi war on genmar.
jesus, cant pronounce escaflowne or kamina. but really how is gurren not #1 it becomes bigger than a galaxy!
The Super TTGL is over 6 Universes large.
So that's why you didn't mention the Gurren in Code Geass...because Gurren Lagann was next. lol
GURREN LAGANN GREW BIGGER THAN THE OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE.Should've been 1
this isn't a power list, listen to their intro.
+StrikeZero _ ight
+SteamFlare if it was gurren lagann wouldn't be since elderly god demonbane was much bigger
they say utility, i think the ability to throw galaxies is a pretty good utility
in:re to 2:46
1979's Mobile Suit Gundam: Am I a joke to you?
*edit*: 2nd place is...better, but Voltron shouldn't have gotten top billing.
Aww, no love for Rahxephon?
That anime was surprisingly good for an Eva-clone.
Is it really a clone when the story diverges largely?
I mean it had a lot better ending than Evangelion
Clone??????????? Nah piss off honestly
"STRIKE FREEDOM" from gundam seed/ seed destiny
...
...
........
...
...
anyone else notice that while all Gundam suits were lumped together, the VF-25 Messiah and VF-1 Valkyrie were conveniently separated? Robotech is the American dub of Macross.
Also the honorable mention of Grendizer... yeah that was Mazinger Z, the literally grand daddy of all piloted mecha.
There you go mispronouncing names that the show clearly say a million times.
Mazinkaiser, Transformers G1, Cybaster...
Same here I was thinking why Cybuster isn't here?
How the hell is gundam not number 1???
Show me a gundam that can survive a moons density that rivals a black hole, a fleet bombardment and some crazy ass ripper bot in the same episode. Let that gundam reach the end of space and then it can take the #1 spot. I'll even make a pretty hat for it!
@@DaveMojicathe devil Gundam
