Are there pike left in this ABANDONED canal?

- I drove past this canal the other week and seen rich vegetation, overgrown banks and fish topping. I made sure to save it on google maps! So in this video, we are heading out to explore and figure out if anything still lives in here.

Great video marra. Don't be too disheartened , the locks you were fishing are dead. I fished them for years on and off, the only thing in em are a few la'l roach that get washed down. Best time to fish that " abandoned " stretch is autumn/ early winter, but all the big pike are gone now, but there is a chance of a half decent perch from certain areas if you know where to look. Tight lines buddy.

We used to fish ere and get loads of pike,scum frogs are best,then the Johnnie's netted and long lined it same as glasson dock,there's a few jacks left now,if they move the weed it will get netted again. Gud luk. 🏴🇮🇱🇨🇷🎣

Hi….loved the content btw,I use to live quite local to the location you fished and although I’ve never really fished it myself….I know if you go further up the canal from them locks I’ve seen some huge pike in there….there are also massive grass carp

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I was using a setting called hindsight on my gopro. This setting allows you to not be filming the whole time and use loads of battery but when you press the button it automatically records the last 30 seconds of the ‘clicked’ event. Does that make sense?😅
I got it, think it filming whole time but delete everything before 30s, just saving memory card@@pikeandperch

Cannals are dug out, not naturally formed.
That is true, this one already had a natural flow of water and was kept as is with a wall and increase of water in it. Not all of it but the stretch at the very start was.
Good video, but it hurts so much to see you not close the bail manually and let it close while spinning the handle :( Aint too healthy for the reel. Otherwise, great vid!
