    thanks for the demo. only thing to make those RF sound better would be to apply some acoustic sponge pad behind the speakers to defract sound waves and apply sound deadening to the doors. you get better mid bass response. thanks for sharing mate.

    Used the same speakers in my 07 OBS, just replaced the stock speakers and used the original rings, much easier. Same in the front. It was 4' in back doors and 6 1/2" in front.

      I really like the way they sound. My son thinks they could use more bass, but I like that they fit into the stock speaker holes.

      +HugsButNoDrugs They supply all the parts. In my case, they gave me speaker mounting brackets and the correct wiring connectors to fit my car, so I didn't have to cut or solder anything. They're good about answering questions if you call them.

    what is the exact size of the front and rear speakers? and also how wide are the new ones?

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are Rockford Fosgates. I got them from Crutchfield, who can take the make and model of your car and tell you what size speakers fit. In the case of the Impreza, I think I could have fit bigger speakers in there, but they didn't recommend any. I don't remember the exact model number.

      @hoohoohoblin  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are pretty good. They sound good as loud as I like to listen to them but if you turn them up too loud they get kind of fuzzy. They are the cheapest speakers Rockford Fosgate mix, and they say the next level up speakers sound better. I am happy with them and they are good enough for me.

    This is a sincere question not a rib: Do you realize that the adhesive in duct tape is an acid and that it will run at higher temperatures? Perhaps gorrila tape is of higher quality but I have seen Duct tape eat its way through plastic on several occasions.

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I haven't seen duct tape glue liquify and run before. I don't think it gets hot enough to do that where I live. I've heard of other people using it for this, and I don't think there are problems with it.

      thoughts on what else to fill the gap with?

    • @paulking2039
      @paulking2039 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make a small / thin plywood or MDF baffle for the speakers to sit in / or on etc.
      Then fill any small holes with expanding foam, before the speakers are in,
      or perhaps cut the dynamat to shape, or overlapping a portion of the door and then sit the baffles over the top.
      Sound from the front, must not be able to get to the back and visa/versa, otherwise you will lose the bass.
      Shouldn't take more than a few hrs to fit.
      Tape will lose the power handling.
