Thank you for being so transparent. Black women need to be compassionate with each other, for those who suffer from alopecia. I have suffered from this for the past 25 years...I never did braids, wigs, or extensions. I suffer depression from this. I know how you feel....you are not alone. God bless you 🤗.
I feel like I’m opposite I have had a black girl mullet all my life whenever I grow it out… long in the back 1-3inches in the front I’m like a permanent 1988 hairdo … I may just cut it all even and wear it short like I did in college it was cute too… I understand the setbacks they are frustrating
Lol not a mullet, they kinda coming back in style now! I just cut my hair into a short pixie cut and I love it! In a way it’s high maintenance but its soooo much easier for me to manage.
I read somewhere that protective styles aren’t actually that protective. Shampoo and conditioner helps your hair to thrive but constantly putting extensions in prevents your hair from getting cleaned thoroughly and from the conditioner to actually penetrate. Not to mention the tension and the fibers of the extensions cut into your actual hair strands cuticles. This is unfortunate since I love mini braids so much 😔. Also if your hair is breaking off in short sections/ strands that means breakage but if it coming off at the root (you see the bulb) it might just be natural shedding, maybe
Thanks girl! I appreciate your advice! I actually just went relaxed 🤦🏾♀️ you can check out the video if you want! I can honestly say I was kinda lazy when it came to me being natural, I really wish I took better care of my hair in its natural state.
