I died to the 1st boss about 65+ times now. I'm not the biggest fan of how hack and slash the fight is before the transformation only for the 2nd half of the fight to be me waiting for an opening.
Yeah, first phase you can keep him mostly stun locked with constant pressure. Second phase you want to focus on counters. His arm whip can be jumped over and his rock wave can be avoided by sprinting to the side. I put half my levels into wood and half into fire. It didn't seem like his HP bar was moving otherwise.
I wish dynasty warriors would get the love it deserves man. So many old IPs would TRIVE today. Imagine a P5 version Amry of 2, Dynasty warriors, Jack and Daxter, Splinter cell, Neo contra etc. I can’t imagine how far these games could be pushed with modern software 🥲 one can only hope.

The bosses are easy as shit, I'll be honest I am a Nioh 2 vet and I'm only finding the game easy cause Ren Hayabusa showed me what it's like to be the npc versus the main character for 3 months.

This isn’t even a Souls Bourne type of game. None of those games have combat or movement in comparison to this game. If anything if we keep this in the hack and slash realm that it’s really apart I would compare it more to games like Ninja Gaiden and those game back in the day had plenty of peoples blood pressure through the roof lol
This one is on my list to pick up in the near future, probably after I finish up Yakuza: Kiwami 2. I played both demos and thought combat was responsive and appropriately challenging. Team Ninja has become a favorite if mine. From Nioh to Stranger of Paradise and now Wo Long, I've really enjoyed their combat systems.

Keep in mind EVERY attack can be parried. (Even the stone spike wave he launches) just memorize the timing and don't panic, you got this.
