CITYJET AVRO RJ85 COCKPIT VIEW SCHIPHOL to LONDON CITY

  • NH Airtime joins the Avro RJ85 pilots of Cityjet in the cockpit on flights from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to London City Airport (LCY) and back.
    London City Airport is known for it's steep approach of 5.5% instead the common 3%. At Cityjet it's a captain's only procedure.

    He really arrested that descent! Incredible landing for the steep approach!

      I don't know if those are defined as formal STOL aircraft, but they certainly perform that way don't they ! My all time favorite Flight Simulator aircraft of all time to fly !!!

    What a difference in flight deck atmosphere between this crew and the BRA Swedish Avro RJ crew on Just Planes, and yeah the look on the face of the FO when he was introduced did not escape me.

    Lovely video and impressive flare at LCY!
    Small point on the videodescription, you're talking about 5.5°, not 5.5%! 5.0% is the normal ILS gradient, so 5.5% wouldn't be 3.3° which really isn't anything special.
    The ILS at LCY is actually 9,17% (aka 5.5°).

    Great video. was this a training flight? Looks like a very easy plane to fly, small inputs only needed.

    Sounds like the tower controller at 19:14 is an aussie and replies to Jersey 1323 as Sydney tower??

    really want to know the story about the 20 something UK(?) captain with a french "FO" with twice the experience, using an Ireland registered aircraft. Seems like it would be against like 20 scope clauses and labor laws?

    When do they arm the speedbrake?

    • @adsmith122
      @adsmith122 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just guessing here but probably as part of programming the fmc under landing procedures which is before you leave your departure airport. once the fmc is on landing phase, it is already to deploy the brakes on touchdown or in other planes iirc when the reversers are deployed

    Also this plane was leased to city jet by aer lingus. The lease has expired and now it returned to aer lingus and operates the DUB-LCY route
