For the first time ever on this channel we jump onboard the iconic MD-11.
Take a look inside the cockpit of the legendary Martinair Cargo McDonnall Douglas MD-11F departing from Amsterdam Schiphol.
Take-off at 05:20
Flight started on the cargo S-apron on Schiphol east. Next we taxied out to take-off from runway 24 followed by a BERGI1S departure heading west towards the UK and the atlantic. 9 hours later the flight arrived in Miami.
The McDonnall Douglas MD-11 has played a major part in Dutch aviation, but is now unfortunately part of history.
KLM retired their last one in 2014 and subsequently Martinair send their last one away in July 2016, indicating the end of an era.

First time I flew on one I figured it would take most of the runway, wow was I wrong, the Captain hit those throttles, I was stuck to me seat, what a powerful takeoff. Buetifull plane

Fun to watch. I worked the DC-10-10 and-30. That's when we had cocktail lounges up near the front. The MD-11 is a nice second generation version. But, truth be told, I also worked the L1011, my preferred a/c to the DC-10 series.

I Love the 747, my favorite by far. One of my favorites is the MD-11, great looking aircraft, excellent performance. The first time I flew on a Widebody was the MD-11, I had no idea something so huge was so fast, the takeoff put you right back in your seat.
I loved the MD-11 also, well built and a real looker too. Shame MD failed to deliver on the range and fuel economy it promised, that and the fact it arrived 4-6 years late really killed it. DAL and AA got rid of theirs before most were even 10yrs old.

José Vicente Cruz over the years of the aircraft lifespan they update their avionics the Md11 is a newer version of the Dc10
But I thought there's md10 with is a dc10 converted to md10
