Brian, you serious bro? I didnt realize you were a teacher! I mean, other than teaching on your channel. Good for you man! You're a hard working guy. Appreciate that you take the time to do all this! Cheers, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I’ve never seen someone use lacker to smooth out a blend before applying base I personally just drop coat my base for a smooth finish on blend pannels but every painter has their own technique if it works for you fair play bro
I agree. There's so many creators who just don't bother. Some people just want to say 'thanks' for the info, so I say thanks back. Others have questions and that's how we learn, by asking, so I try to answer questions thoughtfully. Yeah, it takes time and can be hard, but the payback is that people like yourself will come back and watch the video again, or other videos in the channel. So everyone's a winner.
well... watching all your videos paint society got me a job painting cars without a qualification. i just stuidied and wrote down everything you said and now i have a job in this work, thank you so much you have made me a life and ill forever be grateful!
I knew it! I could tell by your teaching technique that you had some kind of formal training; I picked up on your "tell them what you're going to tell them - tell them, then tell them what you told them. From a retired Lt. Paramedic Fire fighter (Orange County Fl) & ED RN whom used to teach at all levels and all environments, house wives to MD's, emergency responders... I'll say it again and again: great teacher. I like the way you have broken down the process in your head and you explain simply what's going on so the laymen would get it. I love your clips.
PS Brian, I was planning on fixing a few rust points on my pearl paint car; this clip is pure gold for my needs as the guys on AutoBody reddit warned me about how hard it is to blend ;) .

We do it all the time Jerry. Mostly we do it to see if we need to blend the hood. We always know we have to blend the door when we do a fender replacement but the hood where we check color. I’m glad there’s someone out there that thinks like me as well!
Thanks for making the channel and this coming from an old school House of color acrylic lacquer painter LOL and I was the first in my city to use base coat clear coat LOL 30yrs ago... learning again from you and we did it with a bottom feed gun LOL
The Lacquer was sprayed and then we used an aircraft urethane clear coat back then LOL then they came out with single stage and 1 yr later they hit us with 2 stage paint as you know it.
I did a Mustang Last year and you can see how I used old school methods on the custom hood by using feather fill 2 and then 2k primer and then wet sanding LOL
Just found your channel. I am an airbrush artist and paint metal and have been working on some larger items.. I don’t spray my own clear coat yet, but I will. Just want to say great tips and advise. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.!

That's years of experience right there! Great video! I recently had a repair exactly like this one. I have to make a revisit to the collision center for another matter but it will be cool to be able to at least converse enough to be dangerous. Now every time while driving and I see a mismatch "panel paint" job and not a blend repair, I'll know why.
Clear coating the whole panel on your cut-ins is a great idea. it also helps you see how close you are to the original color.. I'm going to allow more time on my jobs to try that.👌
Brian, I thank you .i used your method your teaching us with blending using clear base. You explain things very well. Its made me more confident laying down paint.
