What a pain! I've never seen the turbo rebuild and it sure adds a lot to the time. Thanks for showing everyone what it takes and how much time it takes. I see a two stroke clogs it up more than a four stroke too. Nice video of what should be an easy thing for most riders to do. My definition of a "Quick and easy job" is anything someone else wants you to do. Could you imagine a client's face if you tried to charge shop time just to repack the muffler? "FIVE hours! Are you kidding me?" I'm not paying for that!!"
Glad to see a video on how turbinecore pipes are SUPPOSED to be serviced, thanks Chuck! In my case for my YZ 125 turbinecore, i chopped the can where the perforated core met the turbine and tossed the turbine. More or less ended up with a powercore instead (which got a more standard spark arrestor in the cap).
On my husqvarna tc 125 there was some packing with the turbine core itself too. I'm not sure if I had maintained the main packing more often if I could save the trouble of drilling and getting to the turbine core. Nice job on tons of cleaning!

Chuck...bro....were are all dying for your Lectron YZ opinion video!

I wonder if a hand held or cabinet media blaster would chew that carbon off easily?
Most likely. That would be a good tool for the job.
Oven cleaner is my preferred way to remove carbon.
Why is it called Turbine Core and what does it do and differ from the others FMF 2 stroke pipes❓
There is a conical helix used as a spark arrestor.
What kind of packing do you use? Bulk fiberglass insulation or motorcycle specific?
It’s motorcycle specific. The brand I like is Helix Racing Products. It’s denser and less messy than the FMF stuff. Lasts longer.
You can do it a fnf for my Crf150rb?
vocal Audio only in one speaker.
Please no music. Hard time hearing you speak.
