I'm knitting a baby blanket right now using these needles in size 5 mm. I also purchased a pair in 4 mm meter. I really like them.

I tried a Pryn crochet hook, and did not like it at all. It was really pretty, and I did want to like it, but it was just too big for my small hand. I felt the shelf was too long, and the handle felt awkward in my hand. but then, my hands are actually size, so I am not comfortable with big, long hooks. I prefer my.Tulips and my Clover Amours.
Thank you for your review. I always enjoy hearing what Other people think of The many different hooks used by others.

I started with these, beginning, the tips were very helpful for keeping stitches on the needles, I live in the US and they are marked with us numbers.

It's interesting to hear you found them useful when learning.

Very informative video….thanks Anniken. I have been looking to replace some of my VERY old circular needles that kink like crazy! These may fit the bill, especially as they’re purple 😌. Plus, the needle tips (print aside) are light coloured, = easier to count stitches….Knit Pro Symphony dpns are super light but I couldn’t get on with the ‘rainbow’ colours, especially using self-striping yarn. Aaargh! All the best to you x

Thank you Susan. You're not the only one I know who don't like the Symfonie because of the colours. The Prym are definitely worth a go.

A couple of years ago I bought these Prym ergonomic needles in the only two sizes that were available in the states -a
US 4 and 6. I learned of them from Arne and Carlos. I do really like these needles; the ends are like little drumsticks-the little bulbous ends do help keep the stitches from dropping. They work very well for lace knitting and especially on splitty yarn. Will they replace my favorite Chiaogoo Red Lace fixed circs? No, because they aren’t available in US 0 or 1. The Pryms are very light and fun to knit with. I can’t speak to hand pain because I don’t have any. I knit Norwegian style and I make very small movements at the tips of my needles. Thanks for the interesting video.

I think I first heard of them from Arne & Carlos. I'm definitely intrigued by these needles & think I'll get some more. Thanks for watching!

I bought a set of Prym dpn at my small local yarn shop in the US. It was just for fun and to support the shop, but I have found that I enjoy knitting with them very much. Unfortunately, she had a very small supply- these were US 7 which is a size I don't use often. But I might search for a set of circulars in a useful size. I noticed while searching that Prym offers a rather cute circular needle pouch. Hmmm.

I've not seen their dpns but I've not used dpns for years as I mainly use magic loop. I may get some more Prym circulars though.

I am a huge ChiaoGoo fan also (I think I have almost every set of 5in - 2in length 😂). I bought the US size 6 Prym circular needles and am using them for a shawl with different mosaic patterns and really like the way they feel and the consistent tension of the knitted piece, but while I’ve been using them the size marking and purple colored section has worn off completely 😢! Luckily I have a needle gauge 😅.

That's interesting Jane. I don't think I've used my Prym enough. In fact I can't find them at the moment. Sizing rubbing off is very frustrating!

I was checking these out and every place here in the states doesn't seem to list MM on them. 🤔 Says US " ? " which means I need a conversion chart or needle gauge handy :( You are correct , this is confusing when all the other brands sold here in the US do. 😶 Might have to order from outside US

I think they're a European brand, maybe German. In Norway it's usual to just say size 4 needles rather than 4mm so that may be the same in Germany & other European countries. I have a couple of needle gauges that list US & mm sizes. Very useful.

@@AnnikenAllis Yes that makes sense, I just find it more universal to use MM numbers for sizes because so many brands have their version of what a size "x" is . The mm size is definitive no matter what brand.

Great for Norwegian style knitting. Especially Norwegian purl. See Carlos and Arne's tutorial.

By the way you didnt mention but how did you find the join between the needle and cord?

    • @AnnikenAllis
      @AnnikenAllis  ปีที่แล้ว

Fairly smooth but not as smooth as some other brands.
