- Zbrush Tutorial - Character Modeling
Zbrush tutorial beginner level: Zbrush tutorial character modeling using a Non-Destructive workflow.
This video will show you a unique way to approach character modeling in Zbrush!
In this Zbrush Tutorial I take you through the character creation process yet again, from beginning to end.
Learning how to sculpt a full character including the face in zbrush can be daunting.
This week I did a 2D to 3D DTIYS challenge by the talented artist RaidesArt!!
If you havent already check out their Art page for some incredible character art and more.

I cannot take credit for the techniques shown in this video! These techniques were shown to me by a friend/fellow sculptor, @Furd on Instagram (Zolrath on Twitch)
He is the reason I know any of the techniques I am using, and he has been working with me to help me improve as an artist.
He is an excellent sculptor and artist with a background in traditional sculpture.
Be sure to check out his videos for some incredible techniques!

As a fledgling character artist, this has probably been more helpful than anything from college or other channels that I've seen. Thank you so much!
Thank you!! I’m glad it was helpful!
More videos soon! :D
Hello, i just recently stumpled onto your chanell and i have binged watched every video, i love your work and your videos have been really helpful to me. Im currently a first year student in university and ive just made the jump from 2D to 3D and your videos have been an amazing resource to me. I just recently went through your IG page and i was even more blown away.
Your channel deserves a lot more traction than it currently has, im looking foward to more videos :)

Hey!
Thanks so much for watching! :D 🙏
Amazing video
Portasonic1 Thank you! 🙏 That is very much appreciated!
Sculpting the face as a whole is definitely what i was doing that after an hour all I have is a head shape with no details, this technique to further have more control over the face shapes is totally something I need to try. So 1000 thankyous for sharing your art and tech behind it.
Absolutely!! Thanks so much for watching! Keep an eye out for Live Streams and Discord, coming soon! :D
you have a new sub you should have much more than you have you are an excellent teacher sir!
Thank you so much! 🙏 Your words are kind and encouraging!! More videos to come soon! 👍👍
@@Gatz3D you are welcome I look forward to seeing them
That's greta brother...
Epic
LlamaDev Thanks man! :D
We need a in detail video of you making that face blockout I think it'll help me with my face making problems
I’m very glad you said that!
That method was shown to me by a good friend of mine who is an excellent sculptor. That method definitely helped me a lot in learning the face and being able to play with proportions and placement without having to start over from scratch.
I will definitely do a video on that! Thanks for the feedback! 😄👍👍
👍👍👍
🙏🙏
Im curious. I always hear, when I bring my model into blender or maya. What exactly do I need those programs for that zbrush doesn't do? I already bought zbrush I really don't want to pay for maya now. Are they better for animating or poses etc? Thanks
Excellent question!
Maya and Blender are different from Zbrush because they are used for more main-pipeline functions in the industry (Rigging, Lighting, Animation, Particles, Hair/Fur, and even water simulations, and much more). Zbrush is limited to mostly Sculpting and 3-D modeling, which it does very very well.
It is recommended that 3D Artists have at least a working knowledge of a program like Maya or Blender or 3DS Max, because many jobs require using multiple programs to complete a project.
Hope this helps! 👍👍
@@Gatz3D Great, thanks for reply. I'll push what I can in zbrush then move on from there when and if the time arises.
Hey do you do any mentorship?
@brunoafonso Hey man! If you go to my Instagram (link in the video description), you can shoot me a private message. We can discuss further there! :) Thanks!
Do you still have a Patreon?
Not yet! Life has been so busy and I haven’t had time to do much other than work, unfortunately. :/
I want to continue the TH-cam/Patreon route in the future though. 👍👍
@@Gatz3D Keep us posted. You're a hero for us finding our way in ZBrush.
