I bought the flexdrawer on a whim whilst stood in argos comparing it to the dual zone 9.5l. Bought it based on the idea I might want to do a whole tray bake Sunday lunch style in it if I wanted too. I have already noticed the temp bleed between draws when cooking sausages in one side and bacon in the other. And the bacon ended up super crispy whereas when cooked on its own it is not.
It's definitely a trade off. Nothing that can't be circumnavigate through time alteration. Like anything new, you just got to find the sweet spot in how to use it to get the best results.

Helpful video. What I got from it was that the draw splitter allows heat to pass through to the other side. Heat = Energy = Electricity = Money = More expensive to run. I've gone for the 400 on the basis that when using a single draw it will be cheaper to run than the 500.

Very interesting, as I am finally about to buy a Ninja and was going to go for the flexi draw model, but after watching your video I have decided to purchase the two draw one especially as most of the time I am only cooking for two people.

Very informative I did think of the point of shaking and pouring out would be an issue and that did definitely stop me buying this model. I do love my duel zone use every day and also my 15 in 1 foodie which fit roasting meats perfectly
Great video Clara - as a meat eater with vegitarian partner the two draw Ninja has it hands down. But if you have a big family and want a big dish of cottage pie then the Megazone might appeal. Horses for courses. - Paul 😃😃😎😎

thanks for the clear explanation. I am researching airfryers and don't know anything about them. On the face of it I would have gone with the mega drawer but the 2 drawer is more suitable for me. Thanks for saving me from a mistake and I will keep learning before I make a decision.

@@CandidClara thanks, there are so many options it's difficult to choose the right one for my needs, especially as they are expensive so I don't want to get it wrong.
I chose AF400 over this and other fleximodels because of the washing up issue. There is a double drawer airfryer available here in Denmark where you can buy a big drawer as an accessory.
There is also a model like that here which is on my list to review

This seems like a great idea, two drawers and buying an additional one drawer to use instead . What model is that? Have you done the review on it?
For me something like the Philips dual drawer with a small and a big drawer would be ideal, but that wasn't on the market yet when I bought the af400. I did consider a couple of others with different sized dual drawers, but they didn't have as good reviews and the big drawers aren't as big as the Philips. Also difficult as a first time buyer to know your exact needs/preferences.
So sorry I missed this, TH-cam seems to be selective about showing me replies! The Duronic AF34 is the one on my list where you can swap the drawers

Well done Candid. Helped out this culinary challenged caveman a bit denser than the norm. The mega option is fit for big crusty sourdough batards in 30 mins. A smaller model for daily use. Two draws too confusing for this Neanderthal. Thanks heaps

@@CandidClara Sourdough is simple but sooo slow, like me. I couldn’t use a microwave , even if I owned one. These Ninja air fryers are ace with their inbuilt AI. I no longer burn my boiled eggs👌

Thanks for this great video. Its a shame they dont do like the Ometa 9l or Duronic 3 draw with 3 types of draws. You can use either the one large or the two small ones. That would be a great idea for Ninja to look at.

I apologise for all my questions, but I do have one more. Can you reheat leftovers in the ninja that are things like soup or stew if you cover the dish? Wondering if it could replace my microwave.
It’s not impossible, but it’s really not great at it so I’m afraid i don’t consider it a replacement for a microwave. If you are short on space you can buy a stand to stack your air fryer on top of your microwave

I think I asked you this but I'm not sure where… Is there any ninja model with two separate drawers that also has an accessory of one large drawer to use instead so it can be both one drawer and 2 without needing to use a seemingly ineffective divider according to your video? It was very helpful because I was going to get the drawer with the divider until I saw your video.
Not a Ninja one no, but Duronic make one like that (I haven’t reviewed it yet, but it’s on the list!) and I have a feeling I saw one from another brand too
I found your videos very helpful. Thanks but can you also mention about the material in which we are cooking the food. Is it Ceramic or metal or Unfontunately toughned plastic?
Please let me know if you have noticed it perticularly in Ninja AF dual 400.
The exterior of these appliances is plastic, the drawers are metal with a PTFE coating and the crisper plates are non-stick aluminium with a nano ceramic coating

This is another great review. Someone else has done a review about the stack and it couldn't even cook a sausage let alone the multiple design flaws. Feels like ninja are trying to reinvent the air fryer and doing a bad job. Jut back your products instead of trying to change them.
We went with the cosori Dual and im so glad we did I'm obsessed and its saved us so much money its definitely going to remain a summertime oven so the whole kitchen doesn't heat up. And because we have solar and it uses no more than 1750wh we can run it off the solar or batteries unlike a higher powered oven.

The idea is to use the large flex drawer rather than the slower more costly to use oven.

One more question here… :-) Which air fryer do you recommend that is two drawer that also has grill function ? My top choices so far from watching your videos don't include a grill function that I can see.
I haven’t yet found that combination, but the Lakeland would be a close contender because it has the proper grill plate, you just have to accept it is a bit slower, but that chrome finish is lovely! 😉
How does the height of the inside measurement of the drawer compare with the AF400? Is there as much height to the drawer?
Height without the crisper tray in the flex drawer is 13.5cm and it’s 14cm in the af400. Hope that helps

They should just sell a drawer for the dual zone that is one large drawer.
Structurally that wouldn’t work for this model as it has a divider, but other brands are doing a similar thing now
Might be better off with Breville Halo Flexi Air Fryer.

It’s 1cm difference, the middle is 12.5cm
