I've heard that the dual zone can be awkward to get timings right due to the two zones. i'm only a single person but I do meal prep and a lot of exercise so my meals tend to be pretty big.
Hi there, one of the things I love about the dual zone is you can sync the two zones. Eg if one food takes 10 mins and the other 15 mins. It will start the 10 min drawer later so they both finish at the same time. Hope that helps.
The other problem for the FlexDrawer is temperature isolation. You cannot get much of a temperature difference between the partitioned sides. The tests I've seen are only a difference of 20c. Whereas the Dual Zone you can have e.g. 40c in one drawer and 190c in another.
This was a really helpful comparison from someone who had both. I think that your advice about the shaking of the draw during cooking was well made and certainly has made me think about things a bit more. On balance I think I will go with the FlexDrawer and keep a spatula handy.
I bought a flex drawer as I wanted to be able to bake in it. It bakes a large tray of flapjacks much more efficiently than heating a whole oven. I’m delighted with it and have no doubt it will save time and money. Ps it’s easy to stir food that needs to be moved around during cooking.
I've got the one draw. I love it. I can get at least a 3 kilo leg of lamb in it. The divider turns it into a dual zone. As for chips a silcone liner that has holes in the bottom you can simply lift it out and get chips out that way.
Agreed. This would give you the option of the best of both worlds. Use it as one, large, contiguous space for a roast, or split into 2 separate, and individually removable cooking zones. I imagine that the small differences in the product sizes means that you cannot efficiently put the dual drawers into the flexdrawer and have the thing work perfectly. Did you try this by any chance?
I have the dual zone and it’s already been a game changer compared to my gas cooker. However as a family of 4 I would like something bigger. I’m thinking of getting the flex drawer and doing away with my oven completely.
Got the dual but glad I came across this i won’t buy flexi now was going to the handle I would want like you say chips trying to get out with handle just tip on plate thanks
We bought the dual zone just weeks before the Flexi was launched, so we were lucky enough to be able to buy and try the Flexi and return the dual zone. However, it was the flexi that was returned when we discovered, just like you, it was a massive, unwieldy, heavy basket. Ideally, I guess you would have both, but then, as others have pointed out, for larger meals, just use your conventional oven.
Thanks I bought the dual basket this morning and then saw the flexi and thought I had made a mistake This let's me know I am right on the money and have a halogen over for bigger items.❤
Just a heads up for future. When you return used items like this, they don’t resell it, it just gets scrapped. If you can live with that guilt after knowing then fair enough, but just thought I’d make more people aware of this.
@@korndal-hansen7709 ‘The average ecommerce return rates hovers around 20-30% There are predictable and common reasons for returns, such as: sizing issues, wrong gifts, purchase of multiple products with an intent to return some/all, or a failure to set correct customer expectations.’ I rarely see stores with more than one ‘demo’ product, there’s no way they have 20-30% as demo lol but it’s worth looking into, it’s a much more complicated world than you imagine, lots of it’s scrapped, some of it’s sold really cheap in bulk with loads of other non related returned stuff to third party sellers. Amazon employees have said they have to damage the products beyond repair before throwing them in skips. Also most people order online from warehouses these days not the shops. Plus it costs money for people to verify the product is still working fine, undamaged, replace any damaged/missing packaging from when it was opened etc. they don’t just have all that lying around in the shops Suppliers just produce absolutely loads of the item and expect a portion to be wasted. Fantastic, clear and concise review. Has really helped me make the decision, I was hell bent on the dual but I've a fam of four so, I know the shaking and cleaning bit is a very valid point but on the whole I think il go for the flex, now waiting for black Friday lol!
My thoughts exactly. If I want to cook family sized meals use the oven. I'm lucky that I have a full oven and half oven, so use the smaller one alot. So don't need the Flex Draw, i have the dual draw (different brand though), and perfect for teenagers, nuggest and chips etc.
They should make one machine that is compatible with the one large drawer and the two smaller ones. Then you could buy the additional drawers as required. There should also be an internal basket option with clip on handle so you can lift it out to shake or serve chips etc. Having to fish out small items with tongs is a right faff.
Thank you for the comparison. This helped a lot. I really like the proofing bread feature, but we have a small family. I think the separate baskets will work best for us.
Extremely useful review. The ability to shake the chips is SUCH a useful thing to be able to do, as is emptying the drawer one handed. I'll stick with upgrading to a dual drawer next.
Thanks, this is just the type of review I was looking for. I was just about to sell two of the kids and go for the dual zone but your review, and Black Friday discounts, mean I may keep then and go for the FlexDrawer instead.
You can buy silicone liners for air fryer. I ordered it online especially for the large one where you get 2 single and one large liner. You can just cook, pull it out and wash it. Air fryer stays nice and clean and no mess
Thank you. They are ok, but when we used liners we found they reduced the capacity quite dramatically. And the one we had stained after a while so got put off using them.

One hint is to leave a large trivet in front of it to save you inadvertently resting the "Hot" drawers on your worktop.

Having watched this I am going to go with my choice of the dual. We are a family of 3 and I want to be able to put it in a cupboard rather than store on worktop. The increased size and weight is therefore also a factor.
Wow amazing review, thank you for that. Because the sizes of the baskets seems to be very identical, i am wondering if you can put the small baskets into the new Ninja. Did you try that?
I don’t own either but I understand that there are independent timers for each drawer on the dual zone. That to me is actually the biggest plus for the dual zone and seemingly you chose not to mention it🤔
I am confuse. I am single and I enjoy to cook big meals and I dream about make a big cake just for me 😂 Also I do not have oven. I still confuse, if I had space I would buy both. Not sure which one to buy…
Just use silicon baskets for the flex when cooking separate things as it will make it easy to shake, taking things out and cleaning up would be just the baskets. Work smarter not harder

would be nice if the drawer from the duo would work in the flewzone one :-)
That’s a great idea, imagine if they did that in the future. I’d buy it!
Excellent review. Thank you. I had decided on the dual basket then hubby showed me the Flexi. I was really undecided as I just returned a Russell Hobbs snappi which is very
Ike the flexi. Having watched this I am going to go with my choice of the dual. We are a family of 3 and I want to be able to put it in a cupboard rather than store on worktop. The increased size and weight is therefore also a factor.
Brilliant!! Thank you 🏆🔥
Do the two single drawers fit inside the new model as well?
Hi. No they don’t.
I passed on the Flexdrawer, it's step back from dual draws imho.
Wow amazing review, thank you for that. Because the sizes of the baskets seems to be very identical, i am wondering if you can put the small baskets into the new Ninja. Did you try that?
Unfortunately I haven’t tried as I’ve sent my ninja stack back but I think you are spot on, they are similar sizes. Great shout!
This is a helpful video, thank you!
I don’t own either but I understand that there are independent timers for each drawer on the dual zone. That to me is actually the biggest plus for the dual zone and seemingly you chose not to mention it🤔
It’s exactly the same as the flexdrawer, there’s no difference to mention. 👍🏻
Great information. Thank you
I am confuse. I am single and I enjoy to cook big meals and I dream about make a big cake just for me 😂 Also I do not have oven. I still confuse, if I had space I would buy both. Not sure which one to buy…
The fkexdrawer would be ideal if you have the room
Just use silicon baskets for the flex when cooking separate things as it will make it easy to shake, taking things out and cleaning up would be just the baskets. Work smarter not harder
Great tip!
Could you fit a whole leg of lamb in the flex draw?
I’d say yes even a large one as I can fit a whole chicken in mine with ease.
Helpful, thank you!
