Now we just need the Grand wagoneer hellcat, so we can get that MPG into the single digits.
That would be cool
If you can afford a 100k car, MPG is probably not a concern, so, hellcat at this bitch!
Hahahaa

Looks like a nice vehicle. I'll pick one up in 5 years when they're going for under $30K.
Not if the economy keeps going this way xD by then it'll be over sticker
When it starts on fire due to electrical malfunction
It will take 3 years and it will be way below half price

Do this, go to a dealer. Buy a brand new car. Drive it around the block and trade it in. See what they offer you...
10 years maybe
It’s absolutely unacceptable for manufacturers to be putting out glitchy screens for 110k.
If the Stellantis people are anywhere worth their 🧂 would be taking notes a month ago after Doug gave back that PRESS CAR. Believe it or not, should be a condition on the loan that the reviewer put some "notes" so the manufacturer can take care or any problems noted.

It's all a matter of time before Chrysler takes the remaining leftover Hellcat motors and drops them into this. It'll be the first full size luxury SUV to have a trans brake, drag radials & rear seat(s) delete as a build option.

I'm glad we can all agree to disagree because I actually think this large SUV looks amazing. Better in fact then it's competition imo. Also really like that 6.4l engine. Overall, I would never pay 100k for a 18mpg house on wheels.
It's definitely more of a statement.

Better than the luxury cars in the mid 60s. 8mpg on a good day.

I worked at a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram dealer up until recently, and Chrysler corporate brought a few pre-production models to the dealership a couple months ago for part of their Wagoneer training course thing. It was a huge pain in the ass, 4+ hours of listening to corporate representatives tell us not only how great the car was but how the buyers for this vehicle would NOT be the customers we were used to, and that we'd basically have to act like Q from 007 when we were showing this car off to interested buyers. That being said, this thing kicks ass. The interior feels like you're sitting in an intimidatingly well-furnished living room, the sound system is bananas, and I forget what the specifics were but the work they've done on the engine/suspension made it feel like I was driving my old 08' 4Runner and not a land yacht full of Amazon prime tablets. I nearly shit myself because I just gotten over the heads-up-display on the windshield when the seat decided it was time to start aggressively massaging my ass and lower back. Cool car tho. They brought the new Lincoln Navigator and Escalade and both cars felt heavier and less enjoyable to drive than the Wagoneer.
I mean at Mercedes-Benz, we did full product demos. But tech in Mercedes-Benz has been up there, so guess we’re just use to that demographic
@@JamesCook76131 i mean dude you’re so cool. That was the point of his comment Jeep salesmen arent used to selling 100k+ cars so it will attract a different clientele who can afford it and yes everyone knows mercedes benz is expensive and thats their clientele so it goes without saying.
Those cars have been out for awhile and they beat out this new SUV for less price interior wise, but I’ve never been inside this new wagoneer by Jeep/Chrysler
That was freaking funny man. Great story I lol’d hard haha
I didn't think driving was the point. I thought you were supposed to live in it.
Test drove this model.
Best driving SUV I have ever driven. Soaks up bumps without that irritating thump, thump from the tires when they hit a bump. Turning dynamics is excellent. Power roars when you punch the gas,but has a quiet rumble when cruising.
Interior quality is right up there with the best.
If I could afford this ride, gas consumption
is not an issue.
Definitely at the top of my list.
sincerely, Doug Lite.😁

Got this and the X7. Love the room and interior in the GW, but the ride quality / comfort in the X7 is noticeably better. The X7 also feels like a sedan when driving it right after the GW. It's hard to mask the body on frame construction and the 6k lb curb weight.
It's only 110k for a fiat Chrysler when in reality its just cheap junk that cost Chrysler like 20k to make if that
Useless idiotic car, too large for parking spaces and cumbersome to drive in real life situations. It's good only if you never enter a city or park it anywhere else than at home
@ctr289 If you have never driven one before that opinion doesn't mean much. Just saying. It's on my bucket list for sure.
This is going to be a joy outta warranty
To be fair the people this car is aimed at won't own this car after it's out of the warranty
@@jaredbesanceney1 They will pass it on to those who cannot pay for it to pay all their hard earned money in repairs.
With 13-18 miles per gallon ? People will want them but, it would cost too much to drive. And 13mpg is when it's NEW, think of the mileage you get when it has 100K on it... This is not the car for a "road trip"
People will want them but, the cost driving them will be a turn off...never mind it's a Jeep product that does not have a good history of reliability after higher miles.
At least it'll likely still be running/driving well past 100k miles unlike the high end German stuff which will likely have broken timing chains and other weird catastrophic drivetrain failures by then, most of which usually cause them to be "mechanically totaled". Half the electronics in this thing will likely be glitchy/broken in 10 years but at least the Hemi drivetrain is proven, plus it has little complexity which means cheap to fix and easy to work on, so there's an upside.
its a push rod /ohv how bad could it be?
Now that Doug pointed out the "Jeep" on bottom of the rear view mirror, Stellantis will change it to Grand Wagoneer. Love Doug's knack for detail.
Ummmm pretty sure that’s a side-view mirror, no?

@@benbellino3596 that depends on what you like to call it. Some people just simply call em mirrors, some will just say rear view mirror. And some like to be specific so they call the inside one Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) and the outside ones Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs).

I just drove one of these for a week all over Forth Worth, TX for business. I am in love with this SUV, and all my passengers were digging it also. It truly is massive yet drives like a small sporty turbo SUV. The handling, interior styling, comfort and infotainment system are so plush. Sport mode is fabulous for zipping around town and passing on the highway. You can easily jump to 100+ mph to quickly pass a slower driver, and it feels like you're still doing 45 mph...and the brakes grab like cold thick peanut butter. If you have the money to consider buying one of these, then gas price is very likely not a factor. It gets about the same mpg as an old 2010 Toyota Tundra 5.7L pick up I have, so whatever.
The rear-seat infotainment system depicts a red wagoneer when this one is clearly white, making it pretty much undrivable.

Too bad they haven’t come out with screens where you don’t have to touch the screen. It sees where your finger is headed and knows what you want to press before you do.
Way too many screens. No thanks
You can get matte (aka anti-glare or non-glossy) screen protectors for most cars. This will reduce if not eliminate the appearance of fingerprints on those screens. It will also help to reduce glare/reflections at the cost of some clarity (colors will not appear as vibrant ).

Moreover, there was a time when luxury ment how well built something was.
Now it's about gimmicky electric bits and how many ways it can charge your phone.
Although the passenger screen is a somewhat good idea.

He even talks about how glitchy and shitty they are. I don't want glitching screens when I drive. Just give me knobs that actually work.
The reference made me lol. Well done!
*whip* YAHHH!!!!!
I feel this. I have started to think this many screens is too much, sure i would love a screen on the dashboard but why individual screens for each person in the vehicle, knobs are always welcome
You get a like both for the reference and the full agreement of touchscreens are killing driving. I need physical tactile feedback (inb4thatswhatshesaid).
Note to automakers: if you’re going to make a car focused around screens, make the software the most important part of the car!
You ruin the whole screen experience when the software is glitching and stuttering.
I was just wondering how much the guy in charge of the software made. Car software has to be good.
2 words my friend, Corporate Greed. How do you think automakers are stuck with screens that stutter and lag within a 100k car in the age where phones cheaper than $500 come with 120hz screens?
@@SkodaYetiFan I had an 08 Infiniti M35X which has a 7ish inch resistive touch screen and is never glitchy or laggy. Very responsive but lacks multi touch which is very understandable for a late 00s. The steering column combo switches feel very premium with excellent tactile feedback. They really put the money in design to get it right.
Got to love when people comment on the Wagoneer and grand Wagoneer and then say I can go buy some Mercedes-Benz BMW or Lexus and it will be worth More in three or so years when you trade it in… first off you can buy a well optioned out Wagoneer for mid 60s and have a ton of options that those other companies may not even offer and neither of the other three have the them the sameLexus, BMw or MB have the same size suvs that Jeep, GM or Ford/Lincoln offer. @bestplayerhear You'd be surprised.
@bestplayerhear I live in Detroit and I can tell you, there are no shortage of Escalade’s here. Mainly the new one, and the previous two generations.
The cadillac escalade exterior and the grand wagoneer interior would be the dream big SUV.
Despite the fact I'm not a fan of this vehicle, I have to admit, for this being Jeep's first stab at a real luxury vehicle with luxury interior styling, they didn't do too bad at all. You have to admit, the interior looks nothing like anything you would expect from a Jeep brand car..... I think they are heading into the right direction with their luxury interior designs. This interior looks better than Lincolns interior.....
I wouldn't purchase this vehicle if I had $110k to spend on a car, but I think it will appeal to the crowd it was meant for....
Jeep actually started the luxury suv segment when they first made the wagoneer
See if you can find a 2014 Ram 1500 Limited. FCA got it right a long time ago and has just been getting better and better.
Hmmm I respectfully disagree. When a person drops $100k+ on a luxury SUV, Jeep doesnt roll off the tounge. Most buyers if given a choice to spend $110k on a Range Rover or a Jeep.....will buy a Range Rover all day long. Its a status-stigma thing.
@@lear60man You kidding? Rich people wives ALREADY drive grand Cherokees and BS all the time.
This isn't aiming at the "Range Rover rich" type, you can add 100k to the price tag of one of them just in maintenance over the three years, tops, they'll own it. Plus I feel like the wives don't care about cars as much so although the husband is driving a Boxster, the wife is still driving an Acura RDX... Once you get up to the Husband driving a Lamborghini or a McLaren, that's who's gonna buy these 110k luxury "normal" brand vehicles.
When the husband has to decide which supercar to take that day? Theeen the wife gets the long wheelbase Range Rover, that starts at 156k BTW and then you can basically bump that up to 200k when the first thing goes wrong within 30k miles. I'd imagine this Jeep will... Oh God this is gonna be hard to say... This Jeep... From Fiat-Chrystler of America... Is probably much more reliable... Oh God, I did it.. Ok. If you think women dont care about brand names, I got a fake Gucci/Prada/Hermes/Tiffany/Coach bag to sell her. Im on my third full size Range Rover and 20 years of ownership. I have been to the dealer once for a software update. Funny how a guy with a set of normal tools, mid grade scanner and Google can maintain a car for cheap. Jeep is trying to bust into the luxury market with a vehicle built on the Ram 1500 frame....sorry but it rides like....wait for it......a truck. The RR rides on a fully computer controlled air suspension that controls body roll in the twisties like a sports car.
Now to be fair, the Grand Wagoneer does have a nice interior that doesnt look 'Jeepish' right up to the point they put 'Wagoneer' branding all over the dash. But hey, its America, buy what you want and be happy. Just dont complain when your Chrysler/Fiat gets a Range Rover bill. Lets not get started with the Wagoneer Hybrid drivetrain..............

This car was clearly built with 2020 gas prices in mind though. I don't care how much money you make, paying 3.50 or more a gallon on a car that gets 13 mpg and takes 27 gallons to fill is going to suck. If you live in California though, this thing will cost $150 to fill up. Hopefully gas prices go back down.

While I really like the Grand Wagoneer's interior, the exterior is a whole different thing. It looks comical in front of rivals like the Range Rover, X7 and Navigator.
I do however really like its smaller sibling, the Grand Cherokee L, quite a lot, especially in Summit/Summit Reserve trims.

I don't get the "despise luxury brands" part of your comment, since this would definitely count as a luxury vehicle... but there are thousands upon thousands of people, if not millions, making that kind of money, or that make closer to $100-200k/yr and have accumulated enough valuable assets that a purchase like this is just a matter of selling one to be able to afford another. You also have to remember that the profit margin on expensive cars is MUCH higher than on economy cars, that they improve the public's perception of the brand name, and that the customers buying them can afford to get them regularly serviced at the dealership, bringing in more profits and keeping them on the road for longer, which improves the perceived reliability of the brand's products. The people that tend to buy luxury cars can also easily afford the mark-ups on manufacturer dealership maintenance/repairs, which makes them more desirable customers than some of the more frugal economy car buyers that might try to stretch their budget too far in order to get higher trim models, possibly complicating/prolonging the payment plan for the dealership down the road.
I know I live in a particularly well off area (just outside of Washington DC in Maryland, bordering Virginia), but around here things like Tesla Model X, BMW X5, Range Rover Sport, Audi Q7 S, New Lincoln Aviator/Navigators, Porsche Cayenne's, etc. are all about as common as entry level luxury cars are in most parts of the country. On holidays or weekends when there are special events in the area it is not uncommon to see multiple supercars, and occasionally even a hypercar, in the area on those nights. Just last weekend when the Superbowl was on I saw a BMW i8, and also someone driving a Ferrari 458 Italia on the same rainy night, despite the fact that it was also borderline freezing. It's truly mind boggling and hard to comprehend the concentration of wealth in this area sometimes. I feel fortunate just to have grown up in a place where I can see just how many people there are at those kinds of income levels and much, much higher.
The target audience is wealthy libertarians who have Wranglers to give themselves the illusion of self-reliance but want something more comfortable, and more ostentatious, for driving around with the family while they all look at screens instead of interact with each other.
