I had the original toy with the driver figure many years ago, it was my favourite thing ever. Press a button on top and the doors became wings and jet engines appeared out back. I loved the cartoon as a kid. That and Thundercats. Can't wait for the painting video, it's going to be awesome.
Come on, guys! If everyone of us would have the awesome RC stash that Chris owns, I can swear that most of us would be able to cut, paint and bash almost as fine as Hemi does. Joking. There will always be people more skilled than another, but sure we´d have a ton more of practice! Please stay safe, cheers from Spain!
Dude?!?! Whaaat??? I literally had the toy as a kid (40 now). Even had the gas station base! Had the black s10 blazer truck too, can't remember the name. Can't wait to see the final product.👍👊🍻
I always try the snap and score method but never seem to be able to get it to work. I just use the scissors. Wish I had your skills lol. Always inspiring to see your work.
Man I love how you do these videos. I really need to stop using the lexan scissors hahaha. I mamage ok but. I need to step my game up on this type of stuff. I'm getting more daring on paint but nothing close to what you do haha. Like not close at all. But in time. I like how you added the low vision tip, as I am legally blind (low vision). But I have my tricks haha. As always man. Amazing work. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍😎. Great call on the I-Roc z28 as well.
I used to do that my friend but when I started working on a sheet metal place I started using the red and green snips from wiss. Which leaves a nice clean cut. You can get them at The Home Depot.
I'm painting a body with a lot of greens, cobalt green then a bright and a fluorescent then yellow scallops shapes. should I back each color in white? the lighter green I understand I should but would a bright green mess up a cobalt green. as of now, my plan is to back each color so I'll start with the cobalt green back then the bright green, back it then the last green, back it then the yellow, and the final backing but I feel this might be overkill? what you think the order of these paint should be? just waiting on the white backer. after this green body, I'm painting a pink and purple 55 bel air.
When you aren't sure, you can always test on a scrap piece, but usually a lighter color doesn't affect a darker color that much. A very light coat of white before proceeding can be a wise choice though. Have fun!
Great video. Are you going to do a video on how to mask it up to get crisp lines. Was thinking about trying liquid mask. Have you used that and what are your opinions? Thanks.
Thank's Chris great tutorial I don't like lexan scissors either I've been using exacto knives for over 30 years I'm pretty good at it, take care & thanks for sharing 😉👍
Each one of your video i watch gives me more confidence to do better. Each body i do gets a little better. I'm still scared of scoring. So far I always F it up and slip or go off line. So I'm super careful with the scissors, do like 2 or 3 cuts before the final and always leave .5mm or less to sand and get a nice smooth edge that way. Someday I'll get the score thing down.
Loved how this one, and all of yours, turned out. Side question do you forge your own knifes, cause that is a nice looking collection behind you. And Doug is a Bad A$$
its much more difficult to cut it with the knife then with a scissor. Not everyone can hold it that steady and I use a proxxon (like a dremel) for sanding. Just slow rpm and its fine.
Extra wide non-scale looking 1/10th scale car bodies are FUGLY!! Add some fender flares or model it after something that has a widetrack like a supercar. That fugly Camaro body would look amazing if they modeled it after an IMSA style road racing Camaro with fender flares
The Score & Snap method is by far the best technique, and Chris makes it look easy!
I watch everything and learn but yet I still cut and draw like a 6 year old lol Appreciate everything I see Chris do !!!
I laughed at you comment here, cause i have the same problem seeing him cut the front of the camaro thinking HOW is he so damn steady... 🤔
I hope you’re well!
@@hemistormrc I’m doing ok although I have days I wonder why I’m still alive ...stay healthy Chris

Will make a few more of the basics. Glad you liked it!

You are just a body guru. We can never hope to do what you do. Love your stuff brother.
The skills of a true master are awe inspiring! First score line goes great and the second never stays on path 🤣 for me.
Cheers Brad, practice and then practice some more. And: it doesn't have to be perfect!

Practice and practice some more!
I recently discovered this method after years of only ever using scissors. Its intimidating at first but it works surprisingly well. Thumbs up.
Thanks for putting this series together. Look forward to the upcoming videos.
Thanks so much for checking it out!
How to cut a Lexan body like a pro. Step 1: Be HemiStorm. Step 2: Success.
Hahaha, thanks!
This is how it’s done indeed. I’ll be sure to share this one Brother.
I appreciate the support!

❤️💯👍😎🇺🇸 Yes Sir Chris, I’ve learned many lessons from you and use them almost everyday. Thank you for what you bring to the world of RCS. 💯👍😎

Have tried every way of doing this and this method here is by far my favorite. Whatever works for you though, personal preference 100% 👍🏼👍🏼
Loving the regular videos again! Keep them coming.
Awesome video watched a lot of your videos when I started painting your amazing start to finish on all your work

Nice video, you make it look so easy. But practice makes perfect 👍🙏
I hope it comes in handy!
Just for the intro I've subscribed, now on to the video. 🤣😎
Ahhh!!! The nostalgia!! 😊🤙🍻🇦🇺
Trips down memory lane for sure!
Love it. Make it fly now.
Haha, yes!
Great video as usual..nice to see a different way to cut out a body I've used scissors for years ..

Gave it a like. Good info and use of "It will keel" haha

Netjes Chris. Bedankt voor weer een top video.
Bedankt voor het kijken!
What grade of sand paper do you recommend to smooth out the imperfections? I’m working on a Jeep Gladiator and don’t wanna mess it up.
No link to the protoform sanding block?
What is the blue and yellow shell with red hemistorm on
You make it look easy 😂
It....will killlll....
Chris, is no prep RC drag racing popular there?
Where can I find the sanding block??
Loved how this one, and all of yours, turned out.

I use my lexan scissors for cutting styrene. 🤣
Yes, they do have their use, haha!
Accent? Amsterdam?
🤙
Thanks ... no more scissors for me
2:40 - 2:49 I have spoken
I wonder how you manage to be so skilled with a blade but you just can't seem to manage a mute button 😂
I know guys that can drift with their eyes closed (real drifting, not rc) but can't park for shit. Its just one of those weird life things.
