    Love the wood bed look. I have Prolines 72 chevy body. I really love the blue flames but i want the truck white, maybe a pearl white. Do i back it the same way u did w/the black, or will all the blue show in front of the white???

    • @skinjobs1237
      @skinjobs1237  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      white backgrounds is a different set of rules. Your flames go on first and use blue or blue pearl, no candy colors as the white will give you a light blue body. And you need to spray at a low psi 15. And you would need to be more direct with how you lay the flames to control the over spray. When i do this i use a quick change blue to coat the body before i lay my flames. So when i back it in white the entire body will have a blue hue. But it helps cut down on the overspray. Hope this helps some.

    Love the wood effect, there's a video of Charlie Hutton (Overhaulin) doing something similar on a station wagon door, and for you to replicate this for RC bodies is great. Nice job!

    Really nice man - it’s a proline Chevy shell, I’ve just finished one of these with flames on the front, black body, red wheel arches. Bronze petrol tank.
    Yours is very nice chap.

    What do you use as a sealer between the colors?

  • @VicOrlando
    @VicOrlando 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, to be clear, to laid down yellow, I assume basic transparent, you didn't specify any candy colors, then you're backing each flame color with just white?
    Just trying to understand if it's just one color or transparent style colors 🤔

    How would you go about making yellow, orange and red flames while making the main colour or the car body yellow?

  • @JFlyer1973
    @JFlyer1973 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow that’s a wonderful technique for those flames. Question... the grille, headlights, door handles... are those painted as well or decals on the outside?

    Hi there. Loved this paint job! Actually im trying to do something like that, but i was wondering how do you manage to apply the black color without fully darkening the lighter ones? I've made a bunch of tests on a transparency film and the flames looked awesome, but when i got to finish the job with the black ink, all the colors darkened a lot and the flames almost disapeared... thank you for your help! ;)

    • @skinjobs1237
      @skinjobs1237  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you need to back the colors with a transparent base coat before the black or the black will bleed into the colors changing them into MUD!!! Hondaum

    • @Hondaum
      @Hondaum 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Transparent base? ... i'll try that! I have acrylic varnish (lacquer???) to do that... thanks for your tip :)

    • @Hondaum
      @Hondaum 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, i was thinking that you was going to suggest me some white base before the black ink... will that do the same or am i completely wrong??? (Im running a test with the transparent varnish)

      no surprise there! Although they are designed for Rc bodies they are not made for that type of work. I have pulled it off before but only after trial and error with reduction of the paints to a degree.
