Imagining you are playing with those guys Andre.. I think I won't handle it due to instant mind blow!! You are definitely a monster player too Maestro..
This song is from a band called Spastic ink that he formed with his brother Ron Jarzombek who is a guitar monster and a composition wizard. If you like prog or math metal, Ron is your guy.
@@DrumlionMusic Write "Blotted science" then 🤣🤣🤣🤣. It's one of Ron's projects, same prog metal stuff but heavier. Ron on guitars, Alex Webster (bass player from Cannibal Corpse) on bass and Charlie Zeleny (first album) and Hannes Grossmann (second album) on drums
The set should be setup to conform to your bodies natural motion. If you do a circle with your arm from the elbow or shoulder, your cymbals and drums should be in a place where your arm will naturally want to go.
Bobby's work in the band with his guitarist brother Ron, called Spastic Inc is definitely some of Bobby's best work. Don't miss out on watching the Bambi cartoon videos that Bobby, Ron and their bass player made to get work in movies 😉💯🙏
There's another video lurking on YT that does break down the signatures - 4/4 alternating with 5/4, 5/8 and 3/4, 5/16 and 7/16.....all over the place. Both Bobby and Ron are unbelievably accomplished musicians. Nice reaction, I couldn't do one without crying in the corner :)
Great video man! I played country with Bob in San Antonio and taught guitar at the same music store as his brother Ron who is also crazy unique and talented. That’s his brother playing on this tune.
Bobby started as a righty and taught himself open handed so that he didn't have to do cross overs when being musical, as in adding toms during beats. The craziest part tho, he splits his double bass drumming so that his right foot does say, 1 and, the left foot does, e ah. He will even start beats on his left foot to keep this pattern going 🤯
Geeat video i can tell you are a knowledgeable drummer and music head Bobby is a legend, one of a kind, to this day I still listen to spastik ink and keep finding new stuff after more than 10 years Cheers from argentina
Bobby drumming is mind boggling. He actually hates wearing shoes. His brother Ron is amazing on guitar. He actually has written his own theory called Oscillation Cycles.Spastic Ink is their project as brothers.....
Besides being brothers and having a psychic connection they both read music. Bobby will chart everything out so it matches perfectly with the instrumentation. I remember when I heard Spastic Ink back in the 90’s it wrecked my brain. I never heard music the same again…
He was asked to audition for Dream Theater but Jarzombek turned it down. They even offered to reschedule, because he tried to be polite by stating that he had a gig. But he still wouldn't do it. He talks about it in an interview on youtube.
@@DrumlionMusic It was during that period, yes. He was supposed to be among that group of candidates, along with Mangini, Donati, Minneman, and Priester.
Great Great video great explanation simply outstanding, Bobby is a beast for me he is best drummer I've seen, he can play whatever he wants jazz, heavy metal, trash metal, he play with Rob Halford with halford band and is not a normal human being he improve in every aspect over Judas songs sounding more clean and faster than Scott Travis.
He actually uses the cymbals behind his head for convenience/time efficiency. Meaning, you literally come from the snare/hi-hat/crash/ride/whatever and hit the cymbal behind with full power and you can go straight down to the next hit, it's both ways like an exaggerated way of lifting the arm to execute.
When guys play like this I can’t help but appreciate the skill and determination it requires to make this happen. I just don’t care- I can’t listen to it. It’s incredible that these cats can do it, that it’s possible…we all savor different flavors
yep, He started swapping during the rehearsing/recording for Riot's 'Priviledge of Power' album, when he needed to do so for certain parts. He then realized all the advantages of open handed playing and progressed from there.
Bobby has similarities and makes me think of Dream Theater when Mike Portnoy was swinging the chops in the band.. But, Bobby is unworldly when it comes to drumming ability..
Yeah, the late Jon Hiseman was a beast! There's some old footage of him playing with Jack Bruce that's jaw-dropping. And then there's Colosseum II with Gary Moore. Simply amazing!

@@TheFeanor06 thanks buddy, but those guys are other worldly.
They have a 3rd brother that plays bass, used to have a band called Jarz.
Spasitc Ink made me stop listening to prog metal... it was just to much! :)
Understood, I could clear a room with it in late 80s. I loved it, but people couldn't handle it.
i love when Bobby tightens up the cymbal lug....
Bobby is one of the best rock/metal drummers ever and so few drummers know about him.
I always tell people that Bobby and Elliott Hoffman from "Carbomb" are the best drummers you've never heard of.

He is the only drummer to turn down Dream Theater's cattle call when Mike Portnoy left the band!
I’m not a drummer but this is beyond impressive. Seriously……listening to this forces your body to move. Enjoyable isn’t a strong enough word.
Im always impressed by the fact that drummers know instinctively where the cymbals are in their kits....I dont know how you can just know this...
