You talked and laughed. You thanked everybody for being there and for sharing a meal with you. Your nurse arrives again and says "it's almost time". You pulled out the letters you made weeks ago from under your pillow and gave it to everyone. You made them promise, you said "open it when it's done". Your family heads out but your partner stays. You gave him his letter and made him promise too. You asked, "will you sing me to sleep?" He said, "of course, love. I love you." Your nurse enters and asks, "are you ready?" and you said "yes, I am". Your partner holds your hand and starts singing while the nurse prepares. You stare out the balcony and tears are falling off your eyes as the nurse administers the drug to euthanize you.
