    My hope is that this "English" release will actually be released in England and the rest of the world. It is kind of silly that it is only releasing in North America, I mean it will always be an upward struggle for this game, when you have to find the market for people. And it isn't like the only place in the world that cares about Wixoss is America and Japan.
    On a slightly lighter note though, it is still great news that Wixoss is coming out overseas. Though I kind of wished they went with the older stuff or at least the Key Selector stuff, as Loststorage was never dubbed, so it would have been a nice tie in. Oh well that is a minor nitpick I guess. Plus it makes me wonder why they choose the most Japanese version for the start, I mean we have a deck literally built up of Japanese v tubers, and yet the next proper set and decks are based off the Diva series itself. Which I would imagine most people would have been familiar with. Ah well it is still nice to finally see a release of Wixoss that I wouldn't have to translate, but I hope it will come to Europe fairly soon.

      I'm guessing it's cause it's the first set in the diva format so they're probably using it for introductory purposes

      I hope it's decently available in Europe! As for why Diva, part of it's what @kinfeng12 mentioned, and that they wanted to start it at the start of a format. They also likely didn't want to be too far off the japanese release. Vtubers are exploding in popularity in English, so that's probably helped their confidence for releasing this set first as well - I do wonder if Nijisanji EN will find their way into a Wixoss set at some point.

    As I'm brand new to the game, I'm obviously not the best at evaluating whether or not cards are good beyond direct comparison to other, similar cards and concepts which apply to other games, like Card Advantage and Card Selection. So a series showcasing some of the best cards in sets/decks would be nice, even if it's just in a vacuum and not covering metas.

      That's a good idea for a future video! A lot of card game concepts are present in Wixoss, but the way the game's structured means that they end up working out quite a bit differently than you'd expect coming from some other games. Finding out how to re-prioritize some of these concepts is part of the fun of Wixoss, but it can definitely trap newer players. So a video introducing these concepts through a Wixoss lens is a great idea. Thank you!

    MOst cool TCGs can't be found here aside from pokemon and magic the gathering. If I can find a way to play this it'd be so cool!

      I definitely feel you on that - it sucks to want to play a game that you have to pay crazy shipping on, and doesn't have a local scene anyway. No idea how much this helps, but apparently they've teamed up with a European distributor as well. I think this is the official EU website? www.wixosstcg.eu/

    I hope this game becomes popular here , I know it’s in the top popular games in JP so hoping it does well here to

    • @tcgacademia
      @tcgacademia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope so! I don't see it catching on with a super-wide audience, no matter how good the game is, but hopefully it's like Vanguard or Weiss, and there's enough of a player base to keep the game supported in english for the future.

    Since these two don't have the best match up, which two of the six Debut Decks released around Glowing Diva would you say give the best initial impression of Wixoss as a game?

    • @tcgacademia
      @tcgacademia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm quite fond of the Diagram vs Ancient Surprise matchup - they're not super powerful (like No Limit), or weak (Nijisanji), but they both have a good mix of effects that allows for a ton of interesting game decisions on both sides.

    I like the look of this game but I am scared that it is releasing at a bad time (with the pandemic) and all the cards games that are releasing in English such as digimon gate ruler (though I personally don't think gate ruler will be any competition) card fight vanguard just rebooted again and finally you might even have build divide coming in and unlike Japan English only has “the big three” and here card games aren't too popular. I just hope the game survives here as it seems plenty of people where wanting it 😓

    • @tcgacademia
      @tcgacademia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. I really hope it survives, but I'm also mentally preparing myself to see it cancelled after the first 3 or 4 sets. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst!

    I wonder what cards would help out the trial decks. Especially coming from the first booster.

      Yuyutei is a useful resource for decklists and the like. It's all in japanese, but if you click on the page for a card, it'll show you articles it appears in. So if you click on one of the LRIGs, you can usually find some decklists (and they're visually displayed, so you don't need to speak any japanese). I also might do a video later, but no guarantees on that one - it depends on timing and what other ideas I have at the time.

  • @justgay

    what exactly was removed from the japanese decks (also post release, now with the full information)?
    didn't quite get that part

    • @tcgacademia
      @tcgacademia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the JP release, the deck had Toko and Ange's center LRIGs as well as assists for Lize. I wasn't sure if there would be other changes, but it turns out those were the only change.
