THIS. ADHD Whiskey made the same mistake in a recent video. There are collectors out there that would prob pay close to the same for a black cap ET BiB as 1924 MSRP
It's either a mental thing or they are selling illegal booze. Since Sazerac bought Early Times BiB in 2020 none of their juice is on the market yet. To be a BiB, it has to distilled under the same distillery and stored for 4 years minimum. Sazerac can't legally sell their juice as a bottled in bond until the end of 2024.
Neck pours are real. week open pours are too. just cracked a 101 over this week and the first two pours were very empty. 3 days apart. Left it open over night. Some do change quite a bit, some not so much.
The OF 1924 is a good bottle for about $65-75 (I understand it is allocated) but not so much for $99+. The Early Times is just right for a $20 offering. I would not think to compare these two, so glad you are doing it! Thank you!
Hey Zach: Just got back from our Kentucky Trip. I met you at Old Forester as they were opening a week back. Thank You for all your recommendations on where to go and what to see. You made our bourbon experience much better than it would have been. Can’t wait until our next opportunity to get back. You guys are my North Star when it comes making an advised selection in the bourbon world.
It is good to hear that they are relatively close. Early Times black cap is/was an incredible value for the price. I still have a few in the closet for a rainy day. Nice to see it stands up to a bottle almost $90 more.
I love these videos! Always a great watch! 1924 should win by a lot in my opinion, I will say though the nose is far more superior than the palate and finish
The older black plastic cap Early Times and the newer blue metal cap Sazerac version are said to be from the same barrels but a different blending and bottling factory, most prefer the older Brown Forman version. The Early Times is a heck of a deal, maybe compare it to the Old Forester 1910, or 1915 (half 1910 and half 1920).
I think most of the Old Forester products are overpriced, but I like their bottled in bond the best. The Early Times bottled in bond is excellent, especially in the one liter bottle at its market price.....when I can find it in my area.
It seems like the consensus is that 1924 should be a $60 bottle. Given that people are willing to pay so much more, that is why it is currently at its price.
Also 3 of these for one of these is kinda correct lol 😂 I know that's the retail price but everywhere online the 1924 is $224 a bottle so it's more like 6 of these for one of these 🤣 love the channel!
@@bourbonkingdom I've passed on it thinking it was too cheap. But heard great things. Next time i'll get it. wt101 is $21 and i tend to never pass it up
I personally this is me that said it have never watched or heard of std’s. Haha guess great minds think alike. Plus I put zero thought into what I say before we do those. That is just spur of the moment kind of thing for me..
Check out our review of Old Forester 1924

Y'all should do this with the "blue cap" ET since the "black cap" is unobtainable.
Was gonna say the same thing

That is awesome!
I opened a black top ET BiB and a OF 1924 tonight. The ET definitely holds its own! Both were delicious, I really like this mash bill.

You guys should do more of these comparison videos of other hard to find bottles. This really changes the perspective
early times BIB all day 🥃
I like your bourbon battles, want more!
Love David's excitement!!

Ok fair lol...but we were talking more local pricing lol
ET BIB so delicious and great value bourbon 👍🏻
I gave this video a thumbs up solely for Dave singing D4L - Laffy Taffy
ET BiB slays 1924
Is there anyway to still get the black cap? Is secondary probably the only option?
We still find them time to time in KY
@@bourbonkingdom I'm down in KY in a few weeks...hope I can spot a few
Because I like more proof, I added 1920 to make a 1922. 1920 takes over so maybe 75% 1024 would be better
I love the 1924 but I’ll never buy it again for the price
Where’s the review on the Evan Williams 23? I seen you in line when I was there!
We will be doing one I promise.
Yeah black cap et is harder to find so
Let me know where you get 1924 for 60$. Sign me up for a case. ET is $21 here in CO
Man that is a great price on ET. We are about 33 here locally

EW 1783 or EW BIB?
Both are great.
Mix them 50/50 you'll be surprised. Also a good challenge.
i would lean Bib bit both are good and good values
1924 was a big miss. I didn’t enjoy it at all.
Stop with the Scotch Test Dummies Opening
What are you talking about?
@@bourbonkingdom When he calls out "It's a mashbill baaaaaattttlllleeeee", it sounds like that dude from STDs.

Tried both. 1924 has better flavor for sure, but the price is ridiculous at $115+ msrp.
