I still remember season 2 when Gatomon realizes he's back, "That voice. I still hear that voice in my nightmares..." Myotismon is the Frieza of the Digimon series.
In 01, he was a mastermind genius, then turned into a tank. In 02, he was on some Griffith energy. That scene where he killed his henchmen was so uncomfortable. Myotismon was definitely iconic in anime history.
His arc was the longest in the digimon adventure. not only was he a real threat, he traveled to the real world with an army with sinister intentions. Besides him, the story around him was also the most interesting
How the hell did Richard Epcar not get some kind of award? Still blows my mind how he voiced both Myotismon and Etemon. And say what you will-- Doing an Elvis voice for Etemon was ANIME GOLD. Change my mind.
Yes. Myotismon is my all time favorite villain of Digimon. I like his design, intellect, attacks, charisma and power. He just has a very dark, arrogant and cruel personality to him that cannot be matched. I also think the reason people prefer Myotismon over Devimon is because Devimon kind of comes off as a generic and cliché villain stereotype. Not to mention Myotismon has lasted the longest against the digidestined. He's lasted longer than even the Dark Masters. As Myotismon, it took Angewomon and the digidestined's digimon to give their power to her to destroy him. As Venommyotismon, it took the combined efforts of the digidestined's crests, Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon to defeat him and as Malomyotismon, it took different digidestined from all over the world, their digivices, positive wishes and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode to destroy him and especially his spirit.
He is dumb. He spent half of his arc doing nothing but sending stupid mooks to have the children activate their crests. Devimon at least actively tried to do something about them, like attacking while they're sleeping and separating them.
@@AcetonaSFX Is that so? Myotismon has outclassed the digidestined more than once. Defeated them when he first encountered them, Overpowered Weregarurumon, it took the combined efforts of Angemon and Weregarurumon to force him away temporarily, Wizardmon and Gatomon couldn't defeat him, Metalgreymon couldn't stop him, Lilymon was no match for him, Not even the combined efforts of Garudamon, Lilymon, Zudomon, Megakabuterimon and Metalgreymon could hurt him. Yeah, I think you need to rethink your opinion there.
@@rloul1 Hey, no problem. I get what you're saying because Devimon is the first true antagonist of the entire franchise, it's just that he is the weakest, but he seemed to have an effective strategy against the digidestined.
@@AcetonaSFX Yeah, cause he could whip them all in an instant with how weak they were. If you have an infestation, you call an exterminator. Ya don't take matters into your hands unless you REALLY want to.
That moment when myotismon gathers all the children and demidevimon asks, why they don't just kill all the children, as it would take less work and myotismon replies "of course we COULD do that, but it just wouldn't have style 😎" That was the moment I decided I liked him the most 🤣 Though I'm sure that might've been cut out I the English version... 🤔
Myotismon was one of the best villains of all time just like Cell from DBZ simply because of their ferocious tenacity and never truly dying. Myotismon 's data made it all the way to season 2 when he came back as Malomyotismon and that blew my mind he lasted that long to exact his revenge.
In terms of character Myotismon was like Devimon but more fleshed, I remember as a kid I had first thought that Myotismon was the digivolution of Devimon at first. That said I would like to point out that while he was able to easily crush the majority of digidestined ultimate forms, which were the same stage as him, we can’t really say he did it with all of them. I mean Patamon didn’t become an ultimate until facing Piedmon and Magnaangemon was able to crush piedmon who was a mega. That said the angemon line were actually really OP in the first Adventures when they actually made it to their different stages
Angemon was able to oneshot Phantomon; an Ultimate-level; with an attack that did not even hit Phantomon. It hit Myotismon. Which also shows the power difference between [fog-buffed] Myotismon and another Ultimate-leve.
Myotismon is my favorite villain in the series. 1. He was a vampire, Vampires were a common extremely popular with kids in the 1990's and 2000's. 2. He literally was the strongest because it took so much to defeat him. What made him so interesting was that he kept getting stronger, so the Digimon had issues defeating him. When Garudamon first showed up, she was strong enough to stall him and fly away. However, it got progressively harder and harder to fight him. Then, when you think the enemy is defeated, he comes back out of nowhere for an unexpected, but not ridiculous reason. While season 2 was full of plot-holes, I remember as a kid being like, "Wow, after all that fighting in season 1 they still couldn't defeat him?!!?". 3. This is similar to the second reason, but still different. The scene where he paralyzed Lilimon always stayed in my head some reason. He was he first villain to actually paralyze one of the 8 Digimon, and it lasted more than 1 episode. What made it scarier was that Mimi got captured because Sora had no choice but to retreat. This only added to stakes because now they had to protect Hikari but also rescue Mimi too. In Japanese class, I spoke to some friends and that was one scene they could never forget too, even after 15 years. Also, had they not found Wizardmon, Lilimon probably would have stayed paralyzed. 4. He had a variety of attacks. I don't remember the exact number of attacks all the other villains had, but just from remembering Myotismon's, I can guarantee that he had the most. (While this made him badass, I do admit this made him too strong and it made it seem unnatural. But I feel that the writers just had to do it because they had no choice). -Night Raid (attacking with bats) -Bloody Stream (crimson lightening) -Dead scream (Nightmare Claw) -Physical hand to hand combat (When he fought weregarurumon and angemon) -Energy ball attack (The attack right before Wizardmon died) -Being able to control his enemies' movements (With megakabuterimon) So yeah, a lot of reasons for why he's the best villain.
I loved all the antagonists of the first series. Etemon was funny and his dub in brazilian portuguese was priceless. Metal Seadramon is as cool as hell too. Puppetmon was one that I really enjoed watching, because like Etemon, he didn’t seem so powerful, but he was a legitimate threat, and I liked that a lot
Because he kicked their asses, and when they finally beat him, he just came back to life. Then they beat him again, and he came back to life. He was a recurring villain who remained a major antagonist when he returned, unlike Devimon and Etemon.
@@PeterParker-ff7ub He showed up somewhere around episode 20 of Adventure 02 in a dark whirlpool. It's how Digimon Emperor added Devimon's arms to Kimeramon.
Is Piedmon's role a parody of Pennywise and are the DigiDestined the parody of Losers' Club? Is Myostismon a parody of the Castlevania games being a vampire and uses whips?
I love Machinedramon because he was cold, cruel, smart and a badass, like mechagodzilla xd, and Piedmon was also amazing, in fact I love most of the villains from 01
I personally don't like Myotismon mainly because he's such a great villain. He's such an asshole. I like Devimon for his design and that he's one of my favorite Virus Digimon, and Etemon is not just a joke villain, but a good contrast to all of the usual villains. For me, Myotismon is a 'Love to hate' kind of villain.
Maybe thats why they made Machinedramon the main villain in the 1st digimon world game and made him return in next order as a big enemy as well. (Idk bout digimon world 2 & 3 cuz i never played those)
@@twilliamspro I agree. That was a total joke! Most disappointing kill in Digimon Adventure Season 1. But MaloMyotismon´s defeat in Season 2 was perhaps even more disappointing for me.
I must agree with this. What I like the most of Vandemon (pardon me, I prefer his original name) is his high idealism and conviction. I mean, even after defeated and dead twice, he still believes that he destined to rule the world, and he fight for it. You miss the fact that he being the main villain in Adventure 02.
@@joey8062 Digimon has always had really dark and serious moments in yes the English dub but damn that was chilling the way he tortured Arukenimon and then Mummymon. Ooph
I still remember as a kid watching the showdown at the TV station. When they shot 4 Ultimate attacks at him, I was like ok this will do some damage. But he just Thanos snapped all of them instantly. Myotismon as an Ultimate was as strong as a low tier Mega at the very least.
In anime, maybe. In all digimon stories that have existed, I'd say Bagramon from Xross Wars Manga. The guy rebelled against Homeostasis for a valid reason, was the first digimon to become the true master of his own destiny, created a vast and long lasting empire, organized humongous façade to judge the worth and affects of human hearts, which fooled even the royal knights themselves. He had actually prepared for all the possible out comes of his plan, and orchestrated everything to near perfection. He did all of this, AND showed care and compassion to all those who worked under him, gave them guidance and helped them to achieve new heights. On top of tactical prowess, he also possessed great intelligence in science and magic, plus pretty damn powerful. The fact that he achieved ALL OF THIS, *after* getting half of his body eradicated, shows just how far he was willing to go to do what he saw was right.
The "funny" thing about Bagramon is that while there are Xross Wars Manga and Anime, they differ from one another a lot. And the biggest difference, is in Bagramon himself. In the anime he is pretty much a devimon type villain, letting others do his dirty work and just give the orders. He shows up here and there in the anime, and the final few episodes have quite a lot of him, and he is one tough final opponent that could probably one shot all the other villains in anime. He is evil and calculative, doing many things which make him seem quite Hitlerish, but over all his character depth isn't that good. *The manga version is by far the better version, by grand canyon sized margin.* The Xros Wars season is still pretty good, so I would suggest giving it a watch. And if you want to see the ultimate glory that is the manga, here is the link for all the chapters. www.goodmanga.net/2793/digimon_cross_wars
I just read the manga and I have to say, it was nothing like the anime. The story was so much better and there was much better character development for all the characters. This is a must read for any digimon fan.
I'd say Neo Saiba from Digimon Adventure V-Tamer is the best villain. He was super skilled at the Digimon V-Pet game, and was near unbeatable at it. He had reasons for what he was doing, and thought of Digimon as nothing more than specs of data. He also devised his own way of abusing the coding of the Digital World, including constantly re-healing his Digimon through DNA Digivolution. Not only this, but he trashed this story's version of Tai HARD. On top of this, Neo was able to breed a near unstoppable and all-power Digimon known as Arkadimon. He used guilt in order to make his best friend do whatever he wanted. Neo killed countless Digimon and was only really redeemed at the end (Which felt really forced) Neo is one of the few and only villains in the series to constantly trump Taichi, and even defeat him occasion. Not only that, but pretty much every human teenager villain in the series (Including Rei from Universe and that one blonde guy from Xros Wars) are based off him.
Digmon Adventure 01 Villain Tier List (counting movie villains) Bad Tier: Apocalymon (Reminds me of how Nightmare was portrayed in the Kirby anime, the final threat yet gets beaten in one single Deux Ex Machina moment, but at least Nightmare had appeared before his fight and had actual personality) Metalseadramon (Hardly appears, adds little to the dark masters, the Digimon it's based on isn't even supposed to be evil usually, everything they do Machinedramon just does better.) Meh Tier: Devimon (Was a decent first villain but he didn't really do much overall and wasn't very proactive, his ending monologue was pretty good though) Parrotmon (Kinda just an angry bird, it was cool in its little fight in the movie but it really had no real goals or reasons for its actions.) Piedmon (Felt like a downgrade as the big bad from Myotismon, he was definitely a threat but he just didn't feel as evil and there wasn't as much of a personal feud with him, albeit I'll give him a pass because he was still decent overall and his voice work was good.) Good Tier: Puppetmon (I feel he's a bit overrated in the community but he's still a good villain overall, he stood out by being smaller than the others and actually having a goal for his actions beyond just being evil, I feel that he should have been redeemed rather than killed though, as with most of the dark masters he didn't really get a fitting ending.) Etemon (There is little to nothing wrong with Etemon IMO, he was funny, powerful, and most importantly he was entertaining, a good, silly, Saturday morning cartoon villain can be just as good as a deep, dark, serious villain and it goes to show with this guy, plus the evil impression was the tip on the iceberg on his monkey awesomeness... was really glad he came back as MetalEtemon, he really added the comedy that the Dark Master arc needed.) Best Tier: Diaboromon (Easily the most threatening villain in the OG series, in the movie he really felt like a threat, and his fight scene was one of the best parts of the movie, and when Omnimon comes in and just annihilates his clones it's a spectacle honestly, there's a reason the Digimon is so iconic and beloved.) Machinedramon (Both the most powerful and intelligent of the Dark Masters, Machinedramon was probably the cruellest of the lot too, while the others still had their share of jokes and witty remarks, Machinedramon only thought of one thing and that's killing anyone he wanted, the only problem was that his defeat was easily the worst in the entire series.) Myotismon (If you're on this video you already know why he's the best of the lot. the arc had a great story, he felt intimidating, he was the right level of power to not feel to OP while also still being above the heroes, and he was one of the few villains where it took cooperation from everyone to defeat him, and when he came back it was just as good as it introduced the mega levels to the series and also was the first time a Kaiju like Digimon had been seen.)
This video reminded me how the writers pulled new Myotismon attacks out of their butts as the show went on. First he can shoot bats out of his hands and attack with energy whips, and by the end he can turn Digimon to stone, blow attacks away, or outright desegregate them just by holding out his hands. Still my fave Digimon villain, tho.
malomyotismon was the first anime villain that scared me as a kid, in my country digimon was dubbed from japanese so it was the original malomyotismon in 02 not the english one
Myotismon scared this shit out of my little brother. He once woke up at night and saw Myotismon standing outside the window. That’s how good he is as villain 🤣
Whether people like it or not, digimon savers( digimon data squad) is the most sadistic, darkest, and dramatic season in all digimon series, I don't care if miyotismon is the best looking for the most people, but savers season got a lot of villains best known as the royal knights.
Well I don't know most of Data Squad was recycled from the previous series (even Kurata is just a more effective and evil yamaki when you thing about it)
Honestly, I think Kurata is my favorite villain. Vamdemon/Myotismon is easily my second favorite, but Kurata from Savers is at the top of my list. Sadly, it has been quite since I've been able to see Savers, so my memories might not be entirely accurate. But Kurata for me was extremely interesting. First of all, we don't have too many human villains in Digimon. Owikawa was just a puppet for Vamdemon, so little of his actions are of his own choosing. Yamaki wasn't really much of a villain. He was intimidating presence early on, but ultimately nothing he did as a "villain" suceeded, and in the latter half of the series he realized mistakes and switched to aiding the Tamers. So I don't really think they count for much. So really only the Digimon Emperor, who could still arguably be lumped in with Owikawa due to the dark seed, and Kurata are human villains my book. More to the point, look at Kurata's story and what he does. He was part of an expedition to the Digital World, and learnt first how dangerous digimon are. It traumatized him, and, seeing them as a threat to mankind, he concocted a plan to eradicate them. Acting as a higher for DATS he had ton of pull and authority in the organization, and turned it into a military force to use against the Digital World. He successfully launched genocidal campaign on the Digital World using DATS and his manufactured digimon, I sadly forget their name, and bent a Demon Lord to his will. The Digital World was DECIMATED from his actions, and because of what he did Yggdrasil's decision that humanity was threat to Digimon holds real weight. Furthermore, despite how outright villainous and cruel he is he's still quite nuanced. Not only was he traumatized by incident that gave him his view of digimon, but he honestly believes he is doing the right thing. Of course, as I said, it's been a while since I've been able to watch Saver. So I may have gotten some of that information mixed. Regardless, I still think he's one of the more amazing villains Digimon has ever had, and it really makes me want MORE human villains in the series... ...And also sequels to both Tamers and Savers. But that has nothing to do with this discussion. Just dreaming of a future...
Frankly I find Kurata lame and overated. I don't understand the praise he gets at all. For one thing his motives are plain stupid. He's poorly written, and only suceeds in his plans through the stupidity of others rather then any genuine cleverness. Then gets delusions of grandeur and plants his ugly mug on Belphemon like a big fat target. Ultimately I find him more annoying then hateable. A generic mad scientist with an arc that drags on far to long. So as far as human villains go, I think we can do a lot better...
I love the villains everyone else listed but I also really liked Puppetmon. Using Cherrymon to turn Matt against Tai, that episode with him and TK and controlling WarGreymon and springing a giant toy house on them. And the change into power song. Pure epicness
my fav villain is belzemon, when i was a kid i always think that the job of villain is being evil, scare people, and make you hate them, but belzemon is diffrent.belzemon is the first villain that i care about and make me feel sory of him.Actualy black wargreymon from digimon adventure 02 do that first, but all he want is to seeking the reason of his existance, and that topic like that are too heavy for me when i was a kid,i remember crying when he die and i dont even know why.But belzemon motive is simple,he want to be strong and respect from the other. He got so many char development since the begining of tamer, first i think he just anoying sidekick to keep this series not so serious, but affter i see him strugling when fighting indramon i realy feel sorry for him, then he got power and return as the cool belzemon, but he forget all the friendship and his feeling to get a power and become evil.Worst of all he kill leomon and make juri prety fuck up.until gallantmon come and beat him,but his life spare by the request of juri luck for him.I realy hate him in that time. But affter seing his flash back of ai and mako i feel sorry of him again. But he now good again, and for pay of his mistake to juri,he helping the tamer to beat the D reaper as the cool belzemon blastmode. He the first villain that make me hate him, care of him, feeling sorry of him,and make me think that he actualy cool, realy good character
Devimon is better because: A. He did the whole "first major antagonist" thing professionally (unlike Giovanni who wasn't even in the final battle) B. Despite being a Champion Level, he is capable of controlling many Digimon with the black gears, even Ultimate or higher level Digimon like Andromon and Monzaemon C. Digimon Villains are usually shocked or in disbelief whenever they are defeated, but when Devimon died, he simply mocked Angemon for sacrificing himself to stop him and states that other Digimon with "greater powers of evil" will "finish" them, and then he just laughs evilly as he fades away, this alone gave me "he'll be back" vibes, and I was right to think that, because he majorly influenced the creation and rampage of Kimeramon, that and his battle with Angemon left quite an impact on T.K., as it is a key factor in T.K. becoming scared of losing Patamon again during the whole escapade with Blackwargreymon, a lot of people mostly recall Myotismon's influence over the 02 series, what they don't seem to realize is that Devimon was very prominent in 02 as well, while he may have not made a full blown return like Myotismon, his influence and the impact he had on T.K. was still very prominent, Myotismon and his influence wasn't major until the season's finale, but Devimon and his influence effected the Digidestined since the beginning, Devimon managed to cause Kimeramon to go berserk, and considering he was a key component in creating Kimeramon, Devimon is in a way indirectly responsible for the creation of one of the most evil and powerful Digimon and the first Arc of 02, as Kimeramon later becomes Milleniumon who is one of the main reason Ken became the Digimon Emperor, and Milleniumon later becomes Moonmilenumon and you all know the rest, this intern makes Devimon a posthumous antagonist of the Digimon Anime, as he is indirectly responsible for multiple major events in the Digital World.
Although not my favourite villain, metalseadramon is my favourite digimon by design. Vamdemon’s battle saw a transit from the digital world to the real world, which was unique to the others. But my favourite villain is still the comparatively light hearted Etemon haha
Its a shame we never got to see more of Metalseadramon, he was my favourite dark master, and they couldve done more with the fact that he is a data-type
Can you talk about the Original Digidestined? The original Digidestined have defeated Apocalymon but in the movie, it only show dark Master. Do you think they did not defeat Apocalymon? The Dark Master that were fighting Original Digidestined were actually not the same one the 8 Digidestined fight. Because they were trying to destroy them together and not splitting each group.
myotismon was cool and the arc was good, but he was definitely op. the fact he could easily over power every ultimate but got destroyed by angemon and angewomon was kinda ridiculous. I get they had an advantage with the good over evil powers, but it was still dumb he could take on 6 ultimates like they're a piece of cake and those 2 take him out in 3 total hits. and I'll sprog ably get a lot of ridicule for this, but I hated that he came back in 02 and was considered stronger than he was in 01 as venommyotismon, and venommyotismon looked way way cooler
it's worth emphasizing that the Mytotismon arc revealed a lot of new major events and characters. Plus, the whole buildup to his appearance and arc was really enjoyable.
Given that when he gained possession of the Crest of Light and didn’t destroy it once he used it to find Kari (remember how freaked the kids were when Apocalymon destroyed their Crests?), or kill Kari when he found her, I’d have to take points off and deny him title of “Best Villain”, because while he’s an Ultimate he still made _Rookie_ mistakes 😏😏😏
My all time favorite Digimon villain is also my all time favorite Digimon character - none other than the Digimon Emperor himself, Ken Ichijouji. To me, he is the most relatable character in the entire series!
I think of Devimon first when I hear about digimon villain. He rememberable to me because of his final against Angemon, who digivolve for the first time. And what you said about Devimon when he died. He set the foundation for the stronger digimon to come.
Togemon may probably have also been Virus attribute. Hyper Colosseum differentiates by giving Data Togemon yellow "hair" and Virus Togemon orange "hair", like Mimi's. Card Game Alpha didn't have virus Togemon, but continues that tradition with blond Data attribute ones.
True on Wormmon and Ogremon (although I assumed by "good [guy]", the OP meant protagonist character). Gotsumon is Data attribute though. So is Pumpmon.
Dang I was going to say Kurata and the D reaper were the best, but then you’re intro immediately disqualified them. But in that case I’d say beelzemon could definitely be argued to be the best. For machinedramon look at the animation quality of adventure and then look at machinedramon’s design. They really couldn’t do much of a fight with him.
Amazing analysis. I'd love to see some of your thoughts on the new Digimon Adventure anime if you ever get around to making videos about it! Especially now that they finally did justice to MetalGreymon vs Machinedramon, since you mentioned it in this video. If you haven't seen it definitely check it out it was beautifully done imo :]
5:29 Also I think one thing to remember about Etemon is that in the Dub he got an Elvis Impersonator style to him and that's probably one of few moments when a dub is better the the sub. Also Etemon's One Liners and quotes are funny has heck (especially with said Elvis Impersonator voice)
Digimon has had a lot of great villains. Bagramon was malevolent, Dr. Kurata was malicious, and the D-Reaper was the source of many childhood nightmares... but none will ever come close to the impact Myotismon had on the franchise. HE was menacing, brutal, powerful, and a very formidable opponent and showed virtually NO mercy. Plus he was the first Digimon in the entire franchise to Digivolve to Mega, a stage which at the time didn't even exist in the V-pets, let alone the anime or the manga. Now if only 02 didn't completely ruin him by having everyone talk him to death with their childhood dreams. Seriously, what the hell was up with that? Also, Guilmon in Tamers was a Virus Digimon and was a good guy, most fans don't seem to be aware of this.
For Myotismon in 02 his new body was made completely out of the darkness of the previously abducted kids and if Adventures dark cave story with Matt and Sora showed us anything that that there is nothing more harmful to such negativity as a good old pep talk.
It's sad that Piedmon was important and threat just once with no comebacks nor duplicates of him. He showed himself as impossible to beat at the beginning, later and the last battle was long and very intense even having all main good digimons digievolved to the highest level and having a whole world of digimon friends. Even if he seemed to get beaten at last soon, he rised up, suprised with a new tricks and messed up a whole situation again. Apocalymon got beaten actually very easily after that digidestined resolved no crest and being lost problem so I feel Piedmon was even more powerful than his creator. But of course, Piedmon was unique and the fact that the way to beat him was to shoot him into the nothingness only instead of getting him killed first shows he was probably just impossible to destruct. Of course, Myotismon is badass too. Coming back again and again and the end revelation about Myotismon being responsible for everything in Digimon 2 was very creepy. Could get destructed but his soul was like a virus that kept building his body back to healthy.
The only way Myotisman CAN'T be the best villain, is if you give that the D-Reaper from Tamers. The only problem is the D-Reaper doesn't have a consistent, clearly defined personality, and shows up, far, far too late in what, well before that, was what will almost certainly always be the darkest iteration of Digimon. Myotisman had a personality and character that became more cruel, sadistic, and demonic as Adventure 01 and 02 came on, to the point that by the time they beat him in 02, he was a not-subtle metaphor for discouragement and negative feelings as a whole. There's no contest.
Before I got into Digimon I was obsessed with Pokémon. Then the Myotismon arc happened and I was hooked! Then the Dark Masters arc pulled me in much more. Myotismon was a neat villain but. Piedmont is my favorite villain from the Digimon Adventure series! I loved the personality he was given and the English voice actor made him quite memorable too! Piedmon besides Gatomon and Angelmon got me into Digimon in the first place.
I think that Myotismon is the best villian in whole series of digimon, he was very selfconfident and defeted digidestends many times and his plan to rule both words was very smart, although, if he had defeted digidestend, he would return to the digital world and find the dark masters already took over the world. I doubt he would like that, but he couldn't defeat the Dark Masters, he would probably becamed Piedmon's minion or something. Anyway, he was brutal, though and a total badass.
There was already a good virus type digimon. in digimon tamers the guilmon line are virus type, if i remember correctly. but it is a really good video you made ^^
Funfact: The German speaker of Venommyotismon, Kasper Eichel has been a politician since 2016. The politic from Germany is under attack of the Nightmare Soliders MUHAHAHAHA
RS TV Also ich habe eben Kaspar Eichel gegoogelt, aber da steht weder etwas als Synchronsprecher von Myotismon, noch als Politiker von ihm auf Wikipedia gefunden.
In reality, the nightmare soldiers are called the nazi's :P They're just the digimon version of them :D (Not officialy confirmed at all. But it wud make sense since they're villains and you mentioned that myotismon was voiced by an politician in the german dub
We have seen good Virus type digimon in the show before Ogremon turned out to not be a bad guy Togemon is a Virus type Blackwargreymon became a good guy Beelzemon became a good guy Guimon is a Virus type Willis' Lopmon still digivolves to Wendigomon after being cured making it a good guy
I loved how Angemon was an equalizer to Devimon, since Devimon was a Fallen Angel and most of us who saw the show as kids didn't know that until years after. That's why Angemon was equally balanced against him which at the time implied he was the strongest Champion. Then Angemon is again the last one to digivolve and becomes MagnaAngemon who becomes instrumental in defeating Piedmon. Much so that it seem like he as an Ultimate was matched with Megas no problem. Just wish there was more lore behind Devimon besides the popular theory that he was seduced by a DemiDevimon into falling to the Dark Area where he was corrupted.
Japanese Myotismon (aka Vamdemon) was voiced by the same actor that voices Crocodile from One piece. That fact alone makes him the best villain by default.
You mentioned you wanted a good Virus-type Digimon in the show. If you mean the first series, Ogremon did eventually join the others in the Dark Masters Arc. As for in the shows in general, wasn't Guilmon a Virus-type as well? I may be misremembering but I'm fairly sure that came up once. Plus there was Impmon in the same series, who became Beelzemon who I think is Virus-type too?
For me, at least in season 1, each had their own aspects. Devimon was corruption with the Black Gears Etemon was character with his personality, (And Elvis voice in the English Dub) Myotismon was control, having the strongest influence and had an army, as well as the main villain the longest to flesh him out. The Dark Masters were viewed as a final threat of sorts, each being the final trials. Honestly, I really wish we got more of them. They were entertaining nonetheless.
Don't forget, he's the only one two come back and be a major threat in another season, to my knowledge. I quit after the second season, but I loved that he came back as MaloMyotismon in season 2
, hello thanks for the video , it is true that the first season was very creative , original , and simply truly the best , for me here's my favorite ones so fr Myotismon , Piedmon , Devimon , Etemon , and the rest of the dark masters :) ,
how come you didn't talk about his appearance in Adventure 02, despite his lack of appearance he was actually the Mastermind behind the scenes all along? Also, there are two good virus types: Ogremon (after he reforms) & Guilmon
7:50 this is being a great video Imma let you finish... but when you tell me you don't like the way Machindramon was defeated that tells me you watched thedub version.
They had one of each for tamers Guilmon for virus, Terriermon for vaccine and Renamon for data. Oh also Beelzemon/Impmon(eventually) in Tamers Beelzemon again in Fusion/Xros Wars. I'd have to take another look at all the digimon in that season actually because there's a lot to keep track of. But I'm pretty sure Minervamon is also a virus.
Myotismon was a great villain, but Myotismon not Venom or MaloMyotismon, those next forms sucked hard...also for me the Dark Masters were the best Digimon villains ever, especially Piedmon is my fav
Small mistake you did devilmon is myotismon (digitree) so in a way devilmon never did stop show up Help support this myotismon act same way devilmon did
There are many reasons why Myotismon is the best villain. His first form is so well-portrayted. Great character and personality, great design, great attacks. Time to develop, he is shown quite a lot, his plan going from the digital world into the human world is scary. Then, he digivolves into VenomMyotismon, which is super scary and strong, tying into christian prophecies with 666 etc. Then in Adventure 02, we get another version of Myotismon. There is some continuity in this, it is made to feel important and that he is a mastermind, an evil that never dies throughout all this. Another reason why he is such a great villain is Tailmon's hatred towards him. It is built up so nicely and even goes into 02. There is a sick scene where Tailmon gets some weird messages, has to visit a building in which Wizardmon appears. Also, when Tailmon hears Myotismon's voice back from the dead in 02, it just caps off why Myotismon is the best villain.
In the Swedish dub that I watched, I ended up really liking Piedmon thanks to his voice actors fantastic performance, managing to really sell both the silly and sadistic parts of his personality. But I also liked Etemon, Myotismon and MetalSeadramon as well for various reasons.
Do a discussion on the pair of angels from season 1/ season 2. include their angel megas and dragon megas well. it should be interesting as the angels are generally OP
I think part of the reason why he was popular what that he kept coming back, he was instrumental in most of the events that transpired in Digimon Adventure 02 after his defeat in the first season, I'm surprised that you didn't go into that as that is as equally as important as his appearance in season 1. Though what you said about the other villains was quite interesting, though Apocalymon was implied to have created all the evil Digimon in the series and not just the Dark Masters, hence why he actually copied one of Myotismon's attacks. Although I think you were meant to say 'villains' as good guys, but there has been some virus types who became good; Ogremon in the first season, but most notable is Guilmon from Tamers who is a virus attributed Digimon.
Devimon was always MY favorite evil Digimon, but I acknowledge that he was pretty one-note. Parodies of him have made him more well-rounded (I personally liked the parody where he believes the Digi-Destined will judge him by his appearance and automatically think that he's the Great Evil they're supposed to fight rather than the Dark Masters), but both the parodies and the actual show had Devimon acknowledge that, powerful as he was, he was still relatively small potatoes compared to villains the Digi-Destined would have to fight.
I do agree that devimon has the best design and yes your point is spot on that devimon only made his minions work but he had the best plan,he took on digidestined at the peak of his powers, for me devimon is the best. I can take nothing away from fans who think myotismon is the best though, specially because what catomon, wizardmon went through and yes the fight with weregarurumon is also part of the reason,he beat weregarurumon with ease and that was a badass way to declare your strength
I still remember season 2 when Gatomon realizes he's back, "That voice. I still hear that voice in my nightmares..." Myotismon is the Frieza of the Digimon series.
I was just thinking Frieza too great minds
@@greasyslav108 Nah. Myotismon is Seymour Guado since he never stays dead no matter how many times you kill him.
Frieza also came back on the cyborg form.
And now he’s back again as Golden frieza lol
Wouldn't be a stretch since Digimon is owned by Toei whom also own Dragonball, One Piece. They also own Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.
And Machinedramon is the perfect cell.
In 01, he was a mastermind genius, then turned into a tank. In 02, he was on some Griffith energy. That scene where he killed his henchmen was so uncomfortable. Myotismon was definitely iconic in anime history.
Etemon wasn’t the strongest villain but was still pretty funny as a character, especially with the voice they gave him
Couldn’t agree more, _uh-huh-huh!_ 😂😂😂
The metal etemon lines were hilarious: "Well I am made of metal and you are wood, so amything you say bounces of and splits you in two"
Metal etemon is actually as strong as any of the dark masters, he just had a silly personality that makes people see him as unserious
That's actually why I like so much. He was a good balance between goofiness and intimation. Not all villains have to be super edgy and serious.
I can't change your mind.
*replaces your brain with someone else's"
Beelzemon is a good virus digimon, or rather an anti-hero digimon.
@@dsullivanation You're right but Acetona does have a point of Devimon's proactiveness. Never looked at it that way before. Thanks Acetona
Of course Myotismon is the best villain. He's lasted the longest and such a badass.
TerryB01 the end of the next series to be specific, but i don't really acknowledge that
Well that's true.
Piedmon was around longer... turned gennei to the old form he currently is, they also locked away the sovereign gods or whatever
@@gr81_gr81 You mean the sovereign gods such as Azulongmon in 02 right? Not the sovereign ones in Tamers?
rloul1 - Yeah, season 2
That moment when myotismon gathers all the children and demidevimon asks, why they don't just kill all the children, as it would take less work and myotismon replies "of course we COULD do that, but it just wouldn't have style 😎"
That was the moment I decided I liked him the most 🤣
Though I'm sure that might've been cut out I the English version... 🤔
Myotismon was one of the best villains of all time just like Cell from DBZ simply because of their ferocious tenacity and never truly dying. Myotismon 's data made it all the way to season 2 when he came back as Malomyotismon and that blew my mind he lasted that long to exact his revenge.
I think you mean Freiza.
I thought Myotismon was Devimon Ultimate Form lol😂
Angemon was able to oneshot Phantomon; an Ultimate-level; with an attack that did not even hit Phantomon. It hit Myotismon.
Which also shows the power difference between [fog-buffed] Myotismon and another Ultimate-leve.
Devimon actually would digivolve into Myotismon in some older games.
-Night Raid (attacking with bats)
-Bloody Stream (crimson lightening)
-Dead scream (Nightmare Claw)
-Physical hand to hand combat (When he fought weregarurumon and angemon)
-Energy ball attack (The attack right before Wizardmon died)
-Being able to control his enemies' movements (With megakabuterimon)
So yeah, a lot of reasons for why he's the best villain.
> 1. He was a vampire, Vampires were a common extremely popular with kids in the 1990's and 2000's.
And Myotismon was a big part of that
I loved all the antagonists of the first series.
He was a recurring villain who remained a major antagonist when he returned, unlike Devimon and Etemon.
when did devimon return
@@PeterParker-ff7ub He showed up somewhere around episode 20 of Adventure 02 in a dark whirlpool. It's how Digimon Emperor added Devimon's arms to Kimeramon.
The best Digimon villian D-Reaper, aka the metaphor for Juri's depression.
“A virus digimon that’s a good digimon “
Guilmon and impmon anyone?
There's always exceptions to the rules, but that's not the case most times.
I'm a Fan of Virus Type Digimon. I hate Angel Digimon but Love Dark Ones except Lucemon and His Evolution
piedmon is a killer clown lol
Is Piedmon's role a parody of Pennywise and are the DigiDestined the parody of Losers' Club?
Is Myostismon a parody of the Castlevania games being a vampire and uses whips?
_Paws_ I'm starting to think that Puppetmon is a parody of Chucky and T.K. is a parody of Andy Barclay.
Ogremon was a virus digimon and he ended up being kind
I love Machinedramon because he was cold, cruel, smart and a badass, like mechagodzilla xd, and Piedmon was also amazing, in fact I love most of the villains from 01
What makes Myotismon even more appealing is the fact that he returned back in season 2 as Malomyotismon with a more twisted character and backstory!
imagine a digimon series where etemon takes the role of angemon (holy digimon that always saves the day)
Punk-Agumon Your profile pic is pure fire
I personally don't like Myotismon mainly because he's such a great villain. He's such an asshole. I like Devimon for his design and that he's one of my favorite Virus Digimon, and Etemon is not just a joke villain, but a good contrast to all of the usual villains. For me, Myotismon is a 'Love to hate' kind of villain.
Machinedramon is also my favorite dark master, he is too underrated in my opinion..
Piedmon is mine. I don´t know if they could have even killed him instead of sealing him away.
Maybe thats why they made Machinedramon the main villain in the 1st digimon world game and made him return in next order as a big enemy as well. (Idk bout digimon world 2 & 3 cuz i never played those)
Machinedramon went down too easily
@@twilliamspro I agree. That was a total joke! Most disappointing kill in Digimon Adventure Season 1. But MaloMyotismon´s defeat in Season 2 was perhaps even more disappointing for me.
Definitely my favorite villain as well!!!!
02 was mixed but I agree, he was at his most evil, he killed and tortured 2 great comic relief characters and a very painful way.
I thought that MaloMyotismon was separate from Adventure's Myotismon.
Oh great he put the "in anime" disclaimer in video but not in the title XD
Hey I just want to know if he is in any of the animes and which ones. Is he a main villian? I am thinking of watching more digimon
Just as little nostalgia bait, Gatomon and Wizardmon make a come back in the MANGA.
Didn't he also create new stronger forms for Devimon & Vamdemon? Agreed Arkadimon was insanely overpowered.
Digmon Adventure 01 Villain Tier List (counting movie villains)
Bad Tier:
Apocalymon (Reminds me of how Nightmare was portrayed in the Kirby anime, the final threat yet gets beaten in one single Deux Ex Machina moment, but at least Nightmare had appeared before his fight and had actual personality)
Metalseadramon (Hardly appears, adds little to the dark masters, the Digimon it's based on isn't even supposed to be evil usually, everything they do Machinedramon just does better.)
Meh Tier:
Devimon (Was a decent first villain but he didn't really do much overall and wasn't very proactive, his ending monologue was pretty good though)
Parrotmon (Kinda just an angry bird, it was cool in its little fight in the movie but it really had no real goals or reasons for its actions.)
Piedmon (Felt like a downgrade as the big bad from Myotismon, he was definitely a threat but he just didn't feel as evil and there wasn't as much of a personal feud with him, albeit I'll give him a pass because he was still decent overall and his voice work was good.)
Good Tier:
Puppetmon (I feel he's a bit overrated in the community but he's still a good villain overall, he stood out by being smaller than the others and actually having a goal for his actions beyond just being evil, I feel that he should have been redeemed rather than killed though, as with most of the dark masters he didn't really get a fitting ending.)
Etemon (There is little to nothing wrong with Etemon IMO, he was funny, powerful, and most importantly he was entertaining, a good, silly, Saturday morning cartoon villain can be just as good as a deep, dark, serious villain and it goes to show with this guy, plus the evil impression was the tip on the iceberg on his monkey awesomeness... was really glad he came back as MetalEtemon, he really added the comedy that the Dark Master arc needed.)
Best Tier:
Diaboromon (Easily the most threatening villain in the OG series, in the movie he really felt like a threat, and his fight scene was one of the best parts of the movie, and when Omnimon comes in and just annihilates his clones it's a spectacle honestly, there's a reason the Digimon is so iconic and beloved.)
Machinedramon (Both the most powerful and intelligent of the Dark Masters, Machinedramon was probably the cruellest of the lot too, while the others still had their share of jokes and witty remarks, Machinedramon only thought of one thing and that's killing anyone he wanted, the only problem was that his defeat was easily the worst in the entire series.)
Myotismon (If you're on this video you already know why he's the best of the lot. the arc had a great story, he felt intimidating, he was the right level of power to not feel to OP while also still being above the heroes, and he was one of the few villains where it took cooperation from everyone to defeat him, and when he came back it was just as good as it introduced the mega levels to the series and also was the first time a Kaiju like Digimon had been seen.)
It wasnt just myotismon, it was all the events that led up to him. Plus the whole 666 theme. But the dark masters were my favorite.
In the fight atop Fuji TV Myotismon's powers were amplified by the fog he'd created.
Myotismon is hands down the most badass and most fun to watch. Got a selection of attacks and the looks is just badass.
malomyotismon was the first anime villain that scared me as a kid, in my country digimon was dubbed from japanese so it was the original malomyotismon in 02 not the english one
Well I don't know most of Data Squad was recycled from the previous series
(even Kurata is just a more effective and evil yamaki when you thing about it)
"Most sadistic, darkest, and dramatic season"
I think the title goes to Tamers.
The only evil thing that happened was the invasion of the virus. That's it nothing more.
You are forgetting Kurata.
Meh
You pretty much got Kurata spot on.
So as far as human villains go, I think we can do a lot better...
... you... forgot to talk about MaloMyotismom
In Digimon Tamers, Guilmon is a good virus digimon who's one of the main characters of the show.
I love the villains everyone else listed but I also really liked Puppetmon. Using Cherrymon to turn Matt against Tai, that episode with him and TK and controlling WarGreymon and springing a giant toy house on them. And the change into power song. Pure epicness
Machinedramon is my favorite
his voice casting in the german dub is the best thing since sliced bread
Yaminho99 true
my fav villain is belzemon, when i was a kid i always think that the job of villain is being evil, scare people, and make you hate them, but belzemon is diffrent.belzemon is the first villain that i care about and make me feel sory of him.Actualy black wargreymon from digimon adventure 02 do that first, but all he want is to seeking the reason of his existance, and that topic like that are too heavy for me when i was a kid,i remember crying when he die and i dont even know why.But belzemon motive is simple,he want to be strong and respect from the other. He the first villain that make me hate him, care of him, feeling sorry of him,and make me think that he actualy cool, realy good character
what a roller coaster of emotions
can you do a video on what happened to imperialdramon Paladin mode the founder of the royal Knights and why he's never truly show
No because the guy who runs this channel doesn't know shit from chocolate
Devimon is better because:
A. He did the whole "first major antagonist" thing professionally (unlike Giovanni who wasn't even in the final battle)
B. Despite being a Champion Level, he is capable of controlling many Digimon with the black gears, even Ultimate or higher level Digimon like Andromon and Monzaemon
07:15 that's the best explanation of Puppetmon, I never really thought about it like that
Although not my favourite villain, metalseadramon is my favourite digimon by design.
Vamdemon’s battle saw a transit from the digital world to the real world, which was unique to the others.
But my favourite villain is still the comparatively light hearted Etemon haha
we do have a good virus type, Guilmon from tamers is a virus type. one of the many unique features of tamers.
When is the Olympus Xll video gonna come out?
Its a shame we never got to see more of Metalseadramon, he was my favourite dark master, and they couldve done more with the fact that he is a data-type
Can you talk about the Original Digidestined?
The original Digidestined have defeated Apocalymon but in the movie, it only show dark Master. Do you think they did not defeat Apocalymon? The Dark Master that were fighting Original Digidestined were actually not the same one the 8 Digidestined fight. Because they were trying to destroy them together and not splitting each group.
Can you do a video like this for lucemon?
myotismon was cool and the arc was good, but he was definitely op. the fact he could easily over power every ultimate but got destroyed by angemon and angewomon was kinda ridiculous. I get they had an advantage with the good over evil powers, but it was still dumb he could take on 6 ultimates like they're a piece of cake and those 2 take him out in 3 total hits. and I'll sprog ably get a lot of ridicule for this, but I hated that he came back in 02 and was considered stronger than he was in 01 as venommyotismon, and venommyotismon looked way way cooler
nice job ! i would really love to know about milleniummon as i remember him from digimon battle spirit as the final menacing boss
it's worth emphasizing that the Mytotismon arc revealed a lot of new major events and characters.
Plus, the whole buildup to his appearance and arc was really enjoyable.
Can you make video of Blackwargreymon ?
In Adventure franchise none of the good guys were viruses but in future ones they were like Gallantmon.
ZeroDex would BlackWarGreymon be what you're explaining?
Well there is beelzemon and he is a demon lord can barley get any eviler then that.
Wormmon, Gotsumon, Ogremon...
Nice point, never thought about that before.
Wasn't Guilmon a Virustype?
For Myotismon in 02 his new body was made completely out of the darkness of the previously abducted kids and if Adventures dark cave story with Matt and Sora showed us anything that that there is nothing more harmful to such negativity as a good old pep talk.
it's interesting to have a villain that has a code of honor and that's a gentleman
There was already a good virus type digimon. in digimon tamers the guilmon line are virus type, if i remember correctly. but it is a really good video you made ^^
just because the digimon are virus doesn't mean they are bad because dukemon is virus but also a royal knight
I know this is lame but my favorite villain was Ken as the Digimon Emperor
Funfact: The German speaker of Venommyotismon, Kasper Eichel has been a politician since 2016.
The politic from Germany is under attack of the Nightmare Soliders
MUHAHAHAHA
lead by Myotismon himself, poor Germany, we now not to trust Politics lol
RS TV Also ich habe eben Kaspar Eichel gegoogelt, aber da steht weder etwas als Synchronsprecher von Myotismon, noch als Politiker von ihm auf Wikipedia gefunden.
In reality, the nightmare soldiers are called the nazi's :P
They're just the digimon version of them :D
(Not officialy confirmed at all. But it wud make sense since they're villains and you mentioned that myotismon was voiced by an politician in the german dub
We have seen good Virus type digimon in the show before
Ogremon turned out to not be a bad guy
Togemon is a Virus type
Blackwargreymon became a good guy
Beelzemon became a good guy
Guimon is a Virus type
Willis' Lopmon still digivolves to Wendigomon after being cured making it a good guy
Is entamon from appmon is a counter part of etemon from digimon ? their name and look is pretty similar though
Yep the Crocodile laugh is actually the Vamdemon laugh!
Oh yes guilmon is a virus type, his entire evolution line is virus
Making Dukemon the only member of the royal knights a virus type
For me, at least in season 1, each had their own aspects.
Devimon was corruption with the Black Gears
Etemon was character with his personality, (And Elvis voice in the English Dub)
Myotismon was control, having the strongest influence and had an army, as well as the main villain the longest to flesh him out.
The Dark Masters were viewed as a final threat of sorts, each being the final trials. Honestly, I really wish we got more of them. They were entertaining nonetheless.
I can't really disagree with anything you said. good job man.👍
Don't forget, he's the only one two come back and be a major threat in another season, to my knowledge. I quit after the second season, but I loved that he came back as MaloMyotismon in season 2
In Digimon Adventures Season 2, Deamon had a lot of potential to be a great villain.
, hello thanks for the video , it is true that the first season was very creative , original , and simply truly the best , for me here's my favorite ones so fr Myotismon , Piedmon , Devimon , Etemon , and the rest of the dark masters :) ,
It's clearly Apocalymon, he really wanted that pizza.
What do you think about his return as the main villain of adventure 02
how come you didn't talk about his appearance in Adventure 02, despite his lack of appearance he was actually the Mastermind behind the scenes all along? Also, there are two good virus types: Ogremon (after he reforms) & Guilmon
What is with Keramon?
7:50 this is being a great video Imma let you finish... but when you tell me you don't like the way Machindramon was defeated that tells me you watched thedub version.
They had one of each for tamers Guilmon for virus, Terriermon for vaccine and Renamon for data.
Oh also Beelzemon/Impmon(eventually) in Tamers
Beelzemon again in Fusion/Xros Wars. I'd have to take another look at all the digimon in that season actually because there's a lot to keep track of. But I'm pretty sure Minervamon is also a virus.
Myotismon was a great villain, but Myotismon not Venom or MaloMyotismon, those next forms sucked hard...also for me the Dark Masters were the best Digimon villains ever, especially Piedmon is my fav
what about impmonyes yes i know he was more of a anti hero then a villian but hey he helped whene hell broke loose
Small mistake you did devilmon is myotismon (digitree) so in a way devilmon never did stop show up
Help support this myotismon act same way devilmon did
I want the next series to have a villain group of tamers
